We have 23, average is 9-10 freight definitely isn’t what it once was.

If, no one but me or a pallet jack is going into the trailer, trailer brakes are over kill and unnecessary wear and tear in my opinion.

I went from City to Linehaul a week ago with my company, and it definitely was worth it. I am on our extra board and love seeing the different terminals. And the comradery between companies at a shared drop yard is awesome.
Definitely allot less to deal with on LH.

Mad skills my brother! How much of that back woods freight does Estes take because OD, FXF, R&L, Saia or the company formerly known as UPS Freight (just looked it up, TForce) refuses to go there? Don't you hate it when they say, "They come here, back in here, pick this up all the time!" So what! By the way, UPS lost their ass on Overnight, bought for $1.2 billion, sold for $800 million.... poor shareholders!
Unfortunately most freight now days is handled through third-party brokers so most companies are looking for the cheapest freight rate. Now we have some customers who choose to use us even if we are a little higher due to our service that’s why our relationship with our customers as drivers is so important.
@@TheTulsaTrucker Estes also has a reputation of being mostly a good place to work, not just in comparison to Central! LOL! I drove linehaul for Vitran. A garbage company bought out by Central in 2014.

I got an Upgrade from my tandem Kenworth to a new freightliner. Big change there for sure
I was all excited when I walked into my trailer today and saw a brand new pallet jack but soon realized it was actually a delivery going to Meijer. I checked with the city dock supervisor to make sure because the description on our DR didn't match the freight.

The red valve is the tractor protection valve, it stops the air flow to the trailer, which does technically apply the trailer spring/parking brakes.
But the yellow valve is the entire units parking brake, with trailer attached it applies ALL brakes on the entire unit.
Technically the TPV (red) should only be used when disconnecting/disconnected.
If you only set the yellow parking brake valve then only the tractor spring brakes will be set. The trailer spring brakes will not be set unless the trailer parking brake valve is set. That is why trailer valve automatically sets (pops) whenever you set the tractor brakes.

Nice thing about what your driving your pulling a single axle and those thing's turn so tight and quick it's insane Always wondered about Estes do you finish your delivery's and then return to the terminal and load other trucks? sorry my only experience with LTL is XPO back before they switched to XPO (Conway) and they where always a cluster..
After we empty the trailer we do pickups using the same trailer

Never work the dock, only if your a hub or combo driver but actual LH doesn’t work the dock

Ah the days of maneuvering around pallets. Had to do it all the time when I delivered beer. Always tougher when your trailer is kinda full.
