Christian walker should be in elite. Huge power bat with 23 bombs (and this is with a month away due to injury), Always consistent, hits decently for average (.255 - 270 range) and currently has the best defence in the mlb no question. Has won the gold glove for the last two years and he’s most definitely gonna be getting his third this year.
I think Walker is better than the respect he gets, but 23 bombs isn't huge power. Not from a 1b. Granted, homers were a little down this year, but 23 is nothing to write home about. Walker seems like a far better value for a manager who just waits on first base. Once the elite guys are gone, you grab Walker and still get a pretty good player every day at the position. You could do worse.
Ty France is hitting .303 with a 126 ops+ and .825 ops, that will play (mostly helped out by astros series) but I as a Reds fan, I would have chosen Spencer Steer or Jeimer Candelario, they've both been playing 1st base in and out for the whole year
Marc was so close to talking about a Rockies player without mentioning the ballpark. I still don't completely trust Toglia moving forward, but 16 of his 23 home runs so far have come on the road
altough freeman’s number or hr may seem down they’re really not. he’s actually had more power or about the same i’d say it’s just that he’s missed a bit of time with his son being sick and getting injured a little and is still so close to meeting last years total. MR CONSISTENT is his name for a reason
Putting rhys in aight after a major injury and him proving what he can do in the past is crazy. If you gonna put Olson in elite when he’s just having a bad year then Hoskins has to be “Good baseball man” at least.
U definitely gotta be putting Pete there in hopes Pete sees this and takes less money to re-sign with the Mets😭 (he is 100 percent in the elite category. He is the most prolific and consistent HR hitter not named Aaron Judge in all of MLB since his debut in 2019. And his defense is above average )
@@sm_1146 bc last year he had his career worst avg of .217. He is usually a consistent .250 + and 40 + hr every year. No other first baseman is doing that

Defense absolutely matters especially when you see a guy cost his team at 1st. Christian walker is incredible defensively at first real baseball people respect that aspect.
Vaughn, Gallo, Sheets will probably be going to the NPB/KBO after this bad season. You'd be better off with Tyler Austin, Austin Dean, maybe even Domingo Santana if you'd be willing to use him as a 1B.
agree with all of them but goldy he had a swing defect that he finally fixed (I believe it was something they did at driveline) he is all the way back look at his last 10 games.
Why are people continuing to perpetuate the myth that 1B is an easy position to fill? Teams that disregard it get crappy production, been many years since there's been a lot of sluggers there. Prospects are mostly coming out as center fielders and middle infielders while 1B is largely ignored. More than half of these guys are lucky to be starting, and sure wouldn't have been starting 10 years ago.
Ty France is better than a lot of guys in the aight tier. He's mashing for the reds rn and he's still batting around if not slightly over league average. He surely should still be considered "aight"
Bcz you need some context, you can have a down year, that’s why Julio is prolly still gonna be super high on the CF tier list, Olson had a historic 2023 and you need to keep that in mind, although I think he should be in all star not elite
Ok I was wrong, Nolan schanuel is listed at 6 4 probably because he does play first base but look at him next to shohei or someone we know is actually 6 4. You could make a whole video about how guys are lying about their height in baseball. The examples are endless
Ty France slander. Lol. France has an .822 ops in his last 100 at bats. Slugging over .500 while hitting .317. At least take 5 minutes to look at his numbers
Paul Goldschmidt at aight doesn’t sound right. He’s Atleast a good baseball man. The 1st half was down but the 2nd half was great he had the most homers on the team and he should be a good baseball man but aight is not that good in my opinion
Christian Walker missed over a month of play and still has more HR's than Freeman and only THREE less than Harper. And is probably going to with his third consecutive gold glove
“Defense doesn’t matter at first base.” Yeah, until enough ground ball outs turn into singles. Christian Walker is Elite - you don’t know what you’re missing in elite defense at first. Raises the tide of the whole infield.
Wow the list of American League 1st base players on the elite to all-star level doesn't look so American at all. 🗣👽💩They all end up in the National League. 😶🙄🤩
I think Harper is closer to all star if it wasn't such a down era for 1st basemen. You could argue this is the worst era for 1st basemen in the history of the modern era. How the fuck do you put walker at all star and Harper at elite? Harper can play defense yet.
