I rewatched this video to learn more and got much from it. I am a beginner and pick up so much from your lessons. Not just about the main topic but many other tips. Watching and listiening to your shifting during demonstations is really helpful. The bowing is great to absorb and your beautiful tone is always inspirational. Thank you so much. Makes me want to practice right now. Think I will...C U later.
Thank you very much also Iggy. You are very kind. I am happy to hear my videos are helpful in your journey with the violin playing. I wish you lots of beautiful musical moments Iggy! :)

Thank You so very much for all of the different ways that you help us to become better players so we also have more enjoyment while playing !!!!! Thank You !!!!!
Playing the Marche from Bach, the first A on downbow sounds very sharp and strong, but it’s technically a pickup, as it falls on the 4th beat after 3 rests. An interesting exception to your first two examples :)
Hi Blood, In this video I did not play Marche from Bach. Are you talking about your own practising piece? And as I mentioned in many videos, there are always exceptions in every rules. Happy music making!
@@JoyLeeViolin I meant the composition from the Solos For Young Violinists book by Constance Seely-Brown, recommended as études. I've been learning it and thought it was a fun coincidence you were talking about starting strong on a downbow but then also about pickup notes. The marche hits very strongly on what sounds like a first note, but when you look at the score is actually a 4th beat pickup note that sets off the counterpoint of the entire piece. Also, just great video. As an adult newcomer to violin (but I've been a professional musician since the 80s on multiple other instruments), I've learned a lot from your videos, and they've helped me progress really quickly.
This really helped me! I'm starting to understand the violin, and for the bowing topic your channel is a warm place.
An excellent teacher ✨
