Thank you so much dear Joy! This is one of the best lessons I have watched. You just make complicated stuff simple and nail it down. I can't help thinking I have to give it a try. As soon as I try, your methods simply work for me which encourages me to keep going and dig deeply in your channel and find more treasure videos to study.

Hey!! I am planning to start taking violin lessons with a private teacher. I was wondering how spaced in time should lessons be at least, since I'm not so sure of being able to pay for once a week lessons. I watch all your videos and always get inspired by your enthusiasm and passion! Looking forward to your response 💕💕

Dear Patri. Thanks for your kind words. Having a professional guidance can make a big difference in your violin playing. Especially at the beginning when there are so many new things, seeing a professional help on a regular basis, such as once a week, would be a good idea. Happy violin playing!

I have a doubt: To became a world class soloist, rode caprice ( or other etudes) is important....

Dear Ashkar, etude pieces or other technical study pieces themselves do not guarantee to make a world class soloist. However in order to be a world class soloist, one needs to have many well mastered techniques as well as great understanding of music and creative ideas. And these etude pieces and other technical studies with their repetitive exercises in various contexts helps us to master certain part of them. I hope you can benefit from it too. Happy music making!

I find many bars of tied notes across the bar -often 2nd violin part quite hard. Any good tips please.

Joy Lee Hi Joy, thanks for a reply. I watched that one a while ago. I wonder whether I can give you a specific example. It is ok for a solo but orchestra set up situation is different- has to be precise and not suck into the main beat. I know I should listen more of the other parts.. Elgar’s serenade op.20 violin 2 has syncopation going after C for a few bars. Beethoven symphony often has syncopated bars for violin ii. That was a while ago but I don’t think I will be confident if I play violin 2 part.

Hi Violino, being able to stay rhythmically precise is an important tool for all musicians to have either for solo or ensemble set up. There is almost always an instruments or a part where it plays metronomic beats. Often it is the bass carrying voices, such as cello or left hand part of piano for example, which one could take as a guidance to help to stay rhythmically in tact. I hope you can try. Happy music making!
