She’s absolutely magnificent. She survived a difficult childhood and the legacy of the abuse her mother faced and I have utmost respect for her. A great lady.
My mother had this on VHS and I wore this tape out. I adore this movie. This last performance is remarkable especially when Bill and Liza dance together. I don’t know how many times I replayed 6:08.
Your eyes never leave her, do they? Now that is star power. Charisma, talent, and something more elusive that transcends everyone else on the stage. Her mother had it. Liza has it. Majestic!
I remember years and years ago Liza Minelli appearing on the Arsenio Hall show and part of the dance recital clip was played. It makes me smile just as much in 2022 as it did then. Anyone else ready to sign up for dance lessons?
Im 88 and I remember when Liza came to Montevideo Uruguay in South America and It was due to be wonderful show . but she was to perfofm on an open stage and it began to rain cats and dogs and as a real pro she got on with her wonderful show among the wet cables on the flor .... Im so grateful of being able to see her under my umbrela ...loved and admired her so much !!!!!!!!!!¡¡
Here in Germany it was released neither in theaters nor even on video. I was lucky enough to catch it screened at film festival. It's not a brilliant film but I felt very engaged watching the story and the performances, and so did my friends. Definitely deserved better!
You are watching an excerpt from a movie from 1991 directed by Lewis Gilbert, written by Richard Harris (based on his 1984 play Stepping Out). It's a joy to see Liza in the dance number.
An amazing scene! You need to remember, it was originally a stage play. It was adapted to film. Some elements worked, some not. Liza and Co. were magnificent. Agreed. completely underrated.
It's remarkable how much of her Mother is inside of her! I actually saw the premier of "Liza With A Z" & can't believe it was a lifetime ago. Liza was something else!!!
....and just gotta love Shelley Winters - 2 second hamming and mugging. What a trooper.
Liza's incredible dancing skills combined with her iconic voice puts her in a class all on her own.
What? She's barely doing basic beginner tap steps. This would be different if it were a live performance, but this was a movie that BOMBED.
She’s absolutely magnificent. She survived a difficult childhood and the legacy of the abuse her mother faced and I have utmost respect for her. A great lady.
JUST AWESOME!! This film deserves a Blu-ray release -- its not even been on DVD yet! I can't believe it. It's so under-rated.

bill went to clown college
He seems like a great dancer and who uses comedy in his dance (not everyone who is capable of that).
one of my favorite sfilms..love bill irwin
The fabulous Liza - go girl. Wishing you all the best x😊
I havent seen this movie in a long time. I love it cant wait to get a copy of it

Her energy and charisma always blows my mind.
Liza is a force to be reckoned with and makes each song her own
Liza went straight downhill right after this, if not right before.
Liza is at her physical peak and in perfect voice also. If she had been born during her mothers era she would’ve been even a greater appreciated star.
True. But she'd have to compete with her mother, and we know who'd win that contest.
Loves this film. I watched it so so much as a child. Xx

Thirty-three years after watching it for the first time, it still put a gigantic Kool-Aid smile on my face.

Shelly Winters playing the piano in this movie reminds me of Shelly Winters playing the piano in "What's the Matter with Helen?"
Such a cool movie!
Liza is really beautiful I never notice how pretty she is
Thought for a minute it was Judy when she stepped out and started dancing. She looked just like her. It was a great movie.

What a cast this film had, Liza, Julie Walters, Ellen Greene, Carol Woods, Jane Krakowski, Andrea Martin and Bill Irwin. Stars all!

A film with "Molly Weasley". The Film "Stepping out" is from the 1980th.
Julie Walters stole this movie for me, as great as Liza is !
