In our Philips BT5515/15 Review we took a closer look at the Series 5000 beard trimmer from the brand manufacturer for you. The BT5515/15 from Philips stood out in our test primarily due to its long battery life, the precision wheel built into the handle for length adjustment and the self-sharpening blades. Watch the video to find out whether the beard trimmer also delivers a good trimming performance!

The best review of this trimmer on internet
I already have Panasonic gb43 and i am thinking to buy the 5515 too
Did you ever test the Panasonic one?
I use it for stubble 1.5-4mm
Thank you very much! We´re very happy about your feedback! Sadly, not yet. We´ll maybe make a video about that in the future, thanks for the tip! :)
Thank you very much for the detailed review! I am deciding between the Philips BT5515, Braun BT7240, or any other trimmer you can recommend based on the below info. I have 2 main uses for it. 1) Trimming my beard to the lowest possible length (without comb). 2) Sometimes for body (underarm, chest, etc) also without the comb, in order to achieve the shortest length.
Philips says 0.4mm without comb while the Braun mentions only 0.5mm. Phillips mentions no oil needed, while Braun doesn't mention?
I will almost never use the combs and will use the blade directly.
Would you recommend one over the other? Or any other specific trimmer you think will be better for my uses? Thanks in advance
You are very welcome!
Hm, guess I´d take the Braun7240 or 7340(depending on the price) Its a bit cheaper and does a good job. I´ve been using my 7240 for over 2 years now and am happy with it.(on the head and body) In regards to oil, its better to use it from time to time. I personaly use it after every 5 uses or so.
I´d say go for a cheaper appliance if you can. You dont seem to need any bells and whistles and also no extraordinary cutting performance(like you would maybe get with a panasonic DGP device)
I am thinking between this philips 5515 and Braun series 7, philips is 40€ and braun is 70€. Which one would you choose ?
Hm depends i´d say. The series 7000 achieves smoother results while the 5515 has a bigger cutting range. Just to name one difference. Whats your hair type and what beard style do you prefer?
@@wunschgetreu-reviewsmadein195 i have a medium thick beard, prefer to trim it around 7-13 mm length . And can you use braun both wired and wireless ?
@@teovukelic5046 I think that the cutting range of the Braun Device could be an issue for you. If you´d wanted to have a "clean shave" the series 7 would have been great though. You cant use it wired.
I looked the braun models you tested, on the box it says "corded & cordless use", so i'm confused why would the say that you can use it cordless if actually you can't?
@@teovukelic5046 There are different Versions of each Modell. Generally we noticed that most shavers which are waterproof do not provide a corded use.(most likely because of safety reasons). The "Dry Versions" usually can be used with the cord.
How can the lowest cut length be 0.4mm when the blade itself is 0.5mm?!?! Have you ever wondered how basic these companies are manipulating you?
I wonder how do you get the Idea that the blade is 0.5 mm? It is 0.4mm.
@@wunschgetreu-reviewsmadein195 Because officially these Philips blades are listed as 0.5mm. How, given that there is also a guard, will it become 0.4??? Give me an explanation (if you can).
@@biserivanov5706 To be honest I still dont get how this is supposed to be 0.5mm! If you check out different sites or retailer shops for spare Parts or even philips itself it is listet as 0.4mm. This is the same Blade whch is used for the BT5501, BT5502, BT5503, BT5504, BT5509 & BT5515/15. All at 0.4mm.
Seems like I cant find your reference. Do you have any links you could provide?
is it USB C???
No USB
@wunschgetreu-reviewsmadein195 Thank you, so it has its own charging port, sad, it is game changer for me.
@@Thee.MightyYou´re welcome! Yeah, USB would be convinient. Sadly I dont know any beardtrimmers that come with USB
Brown sucks in terms of power and durability
I dont think that you can generalize it like that. Thanks for your impression though!
