I used to have great memories of that 1976 song when I was a little girl. Then on every video bullies were bashing Frankie. Why would anyone bad mouth Frankie Valli.
Does it make you feel brilliant to say that? He's good, but he's not underrated. He's under-exposed. People can't "rate" him if they're not even aware he exists.
I was one of the back-up singers here. I've been looking for this for a long time. It was an hour show, and so great to see so many songs in a row. Thank you so much for posting. Brings back lots of great memories touring with Frank and the Seasons.
I know a band member from The Countrymen, they opened for Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons in 1978 at the Baltimore Civic Arena in Baltimore, MD. While The Countrymen were on their last set, Franki Valli came out and said that he liked the way they sounded and wants to do his opening numbers with The Countrymen. I was wondering if there is any other video from 1978 or if that show was recorded for sale on cassette and/or if it was re-produced on CD.
@FrankieValli-ys7mb I am doing fine; how are you doing? I will always be your #1 fan. I am now in my late 60's, and that concert was my best birthday ever.🤗🫂
You know, I agree. He seems to have dominated Billboard charts almost at will, even as he aged, so the sales are there. The songwriting of Bob Gaudio is incredible, with help from Crewe of course. But yes, they're definitely underrated in the fandom. I think with the Jersey Boys musical, and now the movie, they're starting to get a little more of their due. Insane that these guys are STILL gaining in popularity, after all these years.
It doesn't matter; all of us who grew up with the 4 Seasons still love Frankie Valli. He's a real survivor! These songs take me back to my High School years.
He’s been lip syncing his concerts since 2006. If he actually was singing his songs these days, he would get much more respect. But, perhaps his voice is no longer what it was prior to 2000.
Here it is 2021 and I still remember the vocal parts. I remember this show in particular. It was upstate NY. Now my friend Don is gone and I’m much older. It was a marvelous experience. I was guitarist and background singer and one of the four seasons. Great stuff. Thank UA-cam.
This group of Four Seasons were so awesome ! They all could sing and play. Not been like this for some time. I miss a band of Four Seasons and not just singers.
Man, what a voice. Gyp was right, gift from God for sure. Thanks for all that great music Frankie, Bob, and Tommy and Nick as well. Talk about standing the test of time... my three year old was singing to himself and dancing to 'Let's Hold On' the other day. Certainly generations to come will be hearing these incredible songs. I think these guys, though more overlooked somewhat, contributed as much to music as the Beatles, Stones, Muddy Waters.... anyone you can name. For me they did anyway, and I grew up in the 90's...
Oh you are so right on with your comment. The Four Seasons are a great American Band who came on the seen before The Beach Boys and Beatles, but are never given the credit due, never. The Four Seasons are the only band to have a number one hit before, during and after the Beatles. No other American Band can claim this achievement, not a single one. If take Frankie Valli’s number ☝️ hit records and the Four Seasons, they have almost twice as many as The Beach Boys who happen to be a favorite band of mine as well as the Beatles.
always a super performer, I hired him 1989 to do a concert in montreal at place des arts, 2900 seats were filled, it was a great evening for everyone and technion-the beneficiary.................
those were songs you could listen to at any time, & with anyone,, don't feel like we get that these days, like no romance in the air like back then, or maybe it's just me
I can really hear the nuanced expressions in FV's voice and style. He's displaying the greatest influence in his performance by the chairman of the board himself Frank Sinatra
I like all the songs, but the 3rd song, "My Eyes Adore You", in particular bring me back good memories of 1974 when I was 14 years. I was in love with this girl and the song reminds me of her. I remeber the 70's were very laid back years to live and not like today.
@@DanimalistBoot , yup, but now you have crazy Trump, Covid-19 and all its variants, the monkey pox, terrorist attacks, weekly mass shootings, road rage, the stratospheric rents and mortgages, high price of gasoline, food, crazy weather every where, the meltdown of glaciers and icebergs raising the sea levels, traffic congestion everywhere, over population, explotation of natural resources, and the list gies on and on and on. You can not compare 70's problems with today's.
In 1985 me and my wife and family members went to atlantic city and we were eating in a cafe Frankie came in order something from the waitrist and i called him he came over and talked to us what a nice guy. He gave all his autograph and asked if we had tickets for the show and we did so he said goodbye.
I love the four seasons. I still have their albums. I am 75 now but when I play these songs it sure brings back alot of good memories. My husband of 55 years and I liked to dance to this music. My husband passed away 3 years ago but like I said this music still brings back good memories!
Wow! So many of these songs I heard on the radio and loved, but never knew who was doing them!! DJ's rarely give singer's name - at least on stations I heard - Now I have to get his albums on my iPhone!! They were great! And, I've heard of his songwriter Bob Gaudio for a long time....go figure! The Jersey Boys movie must have really re-activated his records ....

Michael, in the very early 60's my grandparents and their friends took me and their daughter to Euclid Beach in Cleveland, Ohio. I didn't care for their daughter so I wandered around by myself and came up on a band just starting up.....THE FOUR SEASONS!!!!!!!! Never heard of them before but hearing them drew me in. I sat through their whole show totally enthralled. My favorite song that night was Candy Girl. Was Bob Gaudio on keyboard? Anyway, everyone was totally pissed at me 'cause nobody knew where I was that whole time. Best night of my young life. CV, 73 y/o
The Seasons were terrific-Been to many shows from NJ to Florida and never saw a poor performance.Always first class especially the original group of Frankie,Bob Gaudio,Nick mask & Tommy DeVito. In their early days as the Four Seasons just after they started hitting the charts they used to perform at Gerry Sheehan’s Beach House in Keansburg NJ where they used play as the Four Lovers before they became the Seasons.Frankie has one hell of a vocal range.
My group opened for this iteration of the group in 1974 right before the 1975 releases of the big hits. Don, Gerry were amazing. This was in Plainfield NJ.

Frankie Valli can SING! Can't Take My Eyes Off You FAILED TO CHART in the UK!!! December 1963 Oh What A Night was the Four Seasons only UK No1 hit single.

I think this was around the time Frankie was having hearing issues but don't quote me on the time frame. Polci has a great voice and sounds similar to Frankie's. He was also married to Frankie's daughter Toni. This is timeless music and few reach that status.
Thank you for posting. The Jersey Boys film that Clint Eastwood produced about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons is entertaining. Frankie Valli himself will be featured on PBS " A Capitol Fourth" on July 5th at 3:30 PT.
Aside from valli's then wife while singing my eyes adored you, there are some beautiful and downright gorgeous looking girls in that audience. I say this with all due respect, nothing but a bunch of pretty faces, Wow!!!!
That drummer has an excellent voice and very good on drums!
Gerry Polci, hell of a talent he has
We know. We know. I think he is Average.
I used to have great memories of that 1976 song when I was a little girl. Then on every video bullies were bashing Frankie. Why would anyone bad mouth Frankie Valli.
Gerry Polci has to be one of the most underrated rock tenor vocalists ever.
I TOTALLY agree. He is fantastic!
Kelsey Braun And a very underrated drummer as well.
The man sure can sing and smack!
Does it make you feel brilliant to say that? He's good, but he's not underrated. He's under-exposed. People can't "rate" him if they're not even aware he exists.

Any time Gerry is on screen I'm mesmerized. Like how does he sing and drum like that, and nail both amazingly!!!

The drummer is amazing with a great voice!
It doesn't get much better than this for all us nostalgiacs as we fell in love with that "someone special". for the very first time.
One of the last treasures of a bygone time.
Dale Deimel Musical History in the making. # 1 group of all times.

Love that Frankie Valli
Yep. Great days and music that was real music, not screaming, cursing, and garbled sounds.
Love the intro. I too love the 70s. This is so great as anything Frankie does. So good to see.
Whenever I hear "Can't take my eyes off of you", I think of The Deerhunter.

They are the greatest and I 'm in love with the guitar 🎸 player😊
