@@stanknuggetobviously I don’t work for them so don’t know all the ins and outs but I would imagine it’s one of 3 things 1 - the assembly is the cheapest part and so they’re just pricing it the same (this is the unlikely one). 2 - the assembly saved money so they’ve got more expensive parts in the notaklon. 3 - it still costs the same as the 3 series so they’re making a larger profit from not paying for assembly. Either way it’s peaked the interest of sooo many people so that’s good. And it’s not like it’s being sold for 200 or something much more
@@stanknuggetThe notaklon is basically pre-assembled, you just need to tighten a few nuts and screws then wait for the goop to dry. The build aspect is super gimmicky but you get more than your money's worth with the pedal. My main tone rn is running the notaklon into my quad cortex straight into my interface or into a dark terror with a orange ppc4x12 or something like that
Heck, FranTone started with a cloned fuzz circuit from a magazine. She spread out into weirder designs after she’d made a ton of different fuzzes. I totally agree this is the place to start.
It looked like it had a power jack on the side, which a lot of DIY kits do not include. I like that because getting out a screwdriver to open up the whole pedal and cram a new battery in every time its dead is annoying.
Between this and the triple threat, third man are the pedal brand of the people!
bought one :)
I’m a kid that is turning 57 years old tomorrow, and am getting one 😂
This is great! More pedal companies need to give the DIY kit as an option. After JHS did a very simple one this is more like actual building 👍
If JHS is able to sell the 3 series already assembled for $99, why is the Notaklon the same price?

I ordered one yesterday to build with my daughter! I love the idea.
That's exactly how I started in the 70's, only an envelope filter kit.

Gnarly mosrite! Mod ideas to control the gain? Great idea using NAMM exposure to get touchpoint feedback to improve the build instructions.
Third Man and Skibbe! I'm a 55 year old drummer and I'm ordering a kit just to build it.
Bought one today!

The Dead Weather guitar wow
Cool pedal, but what I really want to know is what is that guitar they are using in the demo?
Gretsch Jupiter Thunderbird (I think)
WANT
They keep saying 'kids'!? I have to assume they mean the 57 year old kid as well? 😛
It’s never too late to get into soldering! And circuit bending!
изобрели блин велосипед)) это конечно перспективное направление, но фузом никого не удивишь)
Website says 9v batt lead not included.
