Hi Mary, Glad you found it informative. However, I don't give any kind of medical or dietary advice on here. That's something to discuss with either a medical professional or a nutritionist.
Great video and very informative! Explained very lucidly :) subscribed immediately! Also had a question: Do you have any plans on continuing the pathology series as I came across the pathology playlist and saw it contained only 2 vids from 10 years ago?
Hi Craig, thanks for subscribing. I'm pretty sure I'll get into more of that at some point. And a lot of that will probably come through even in some of the other content as well. As of right now, we plan the videos about a month out. So I can't say for sure when I'll get to that specific series.
My rbc is below normal, 3.82. I don’t bleed a lot. My iron and b12 is normal. My mct and mht usually is just a bit high. But my doctor doesn’t seem concerned about it.
Sir i had a question...i thought intrinsic factors are released by parietal cells of gastric glands of stomach but you told here that its secreted from small intestine? Pls clarify this one 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Can B-12 show as normal or high on blood tests and still NOT be absorbed? My doctors never answer this! I have larger fewer reds, doc said it was B-12, folic acid deficiency. I have always taken 5,000 B-12 sublinguals and folic acid 2x per week, and B-12 shows as high on my blood test. I'm dizzy, have numbness in legs, feet, hands, hair loss, super fatigued, weak. and GI issues. Typical symptoms for DECADES! Please, can B-12 show as normal on tests, with pernicious anemia or inability to absorb? NO ONE ANSWERS THIS so I don't know if it's safe to get B-12 shots or not. Doctors see levels on blood tests only and dismiss it. Informative video. Thanks!
Deficiency in folate can cause it too. B12 needs folate to be absorbed. Amazon has Folate and b 12 supplements. I’ve been so energy less lm near worthless. My dr told me take it sublingual under the tongue.
I was diagnosed with non diet related anemia BUT according to my cbc, I have too many red bloods cells that are considered very large. But my doctor just tells me to not focus too much on it.
Hi, I have a question. I have declining rbc and hemoglobin and high (68) iron saturation and iron. I have no nutrient deficiencies. I have an appt with a hematologist in a few weeks, but any idea what could be causing this? I’m an endurance athlete.
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your question. I truly appreciate your trust in seeking advice here. However, I must emphasize that I’m not a medical doctor or a licensed healthcare professional. It’s important to consult with a qualified medical professional who can provide advice tailored to your specific health situation. I managed to get mine down to 22 before feeling ill, I had to have 5 transfusions, and 2 years on the doctors still have no idea where I am loosing blood from.
Low B12 levels can lead to a type of anemia where red blood cells become larger and inefficient in transporting oxygen. This then puts strain on the heart as it works harder to supply oxygen throughout the body. Also, low B12 can lead to increased homocysteine levels, a risk factor for heart disease. This can lead to artery damage and heart problems. B12 is very important.
Not sure if you can answer this but I had my blood drawn and it was put in the spinner to extract the plasma. The nurse told me the blood cells were blue and she never seen that before. I can’t find any answers on why this happened. I am anemic and have low vitamin D. I’ve been swimming a lot in my pool that has a ionizer which has small amounts of copper ( I’m thinking this might be the cause because it’s the only thing new). I also have RA. I’m just confused why my blood cells would be blue and how I can fix it
Unfortunately, I'm unable to give any medical advice because I'm not a medical professional. That's something that I would try to figure out with your doctor.
