  • Swimming with SHARKS in HAWAII WITHOUT a cage… am I crazy? Well, in today’s video I take you Cageless Shark Diving on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Terrifying at first, we had an incredible experience swimming with sharks and learning so much about these incredible creatures. We went cageless shark diving with One Ocean Diving where we swam with ~20 Galapagos and Sand Sharks. One Ocean Diving is an incredible organization focused on Shark research, education, and conservation. They also run awesome tours to swim with sharks, like the one we did! If you are traveling to the island of Oahu, Hawaii I would highly recommend going on a memorial adventure with One Ocean Diving. If you want to learn more about One Ocean Diving, you can find their website here: oneoceandiving.com/
    We chose to swim with sharks without a cage to observe the sharks in their natural habitat without disturbing their environment. We did NOT bait or attract the sharks in any way. We went to a sandbar a few miles off of the North Shore of Oahu, where Galapagos and Sand Sharks commonly hangout. If you decide to go shark diving, I would encourage you to do your own research in advance to make sure you are observing Sharks in a safe way that will not harm you or the Sharks.
    After diving with Sharks, we strolled around Haleiwa, which is a quaint surf town on the North Shore of Oahu. We treated ourselves to some Acai bowls at Banzai Bowls before heading to Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck for their famous Garlic Shrimp.
    After lunch, we drove to Leftovers Beach on the North Shore to relax and watch a beautiful sunset.
    I hope you enjoyed the video!

    Hi Matt! I have been watching all your Hawaiian videos since we have a trip to Oahu next week. Love them! At what time of the day would North Shore waters be warmer and calmer to go shark diving?

    • @MattKramerTravels
      @MattKramerTravels  3 роки тому +3

      Thanks for watching Jessica! It is better to go early in the morning as the waters can get a little more rough later in the day and excursions can sometimes get cancelled because of that. Stay tuned for a new video in the next few days on the best things to do in Oahu!

      Thanks for watching! I can definitely recommend One Ocean Diving if you want to go shark diving without a cage, but i unfortunately I do not have any experience cage diving. However, there should be a handful of companies around Haleiwa that do cage diving as well. Enjoy your trip!

      Thanks for watching! You do have to sign a waiver before going out with the Sharks and OneOceanDiving does a great job to make sure you remain as safe as possible during the entire experience!

    THIS is why I don't go in the ocean. I have no desire to conquer this fear. Call me a coward, I don't mind.
