    Now we just need to cross our fingers and hope they release a bios to support the 9800x3d processor. I bought this board back in July from Amazon prime day deal for 199.00 and just bought my 9800x3d which showed up today. But last I checked there wasn’t a supported bios for the chip. Nevertheless very nice review for the board thanks for taking the time to create the content. 🍻

    Looks nice, but lacks a few features. A lack of debug LED and heat sinks for the M.2 drives kills it for me. I love the look of the board; it just comes up a bit short on features.

    The lack of cooling on the 2 lower m.2 sockets, is a very bizarre choice.

    • @LevelUPGamingTech
      @LevelUPGamingTech  4 місяці тому +4

      Yup as I said, they could have made it possible, just with added cooling pads underneath and bare metal on top, would work 😉

      @@LevelUPGamingTech what if I install an m.2 with a heatsink and just remove the panels? would that work or would the heatsink hit the gpu?

    • @LevelUPGamingTech
      @LevelUPGamingTech  3 місяці тому +1

      @@RexRapido Depends which one, smaller heatsinks will work just fine, but you can always install in the most bottom M.2 slot, no obstruction from the GPU 😀

      In which color you got the H9 and N7? building one too with both parts and thinking about going with a black case and a white mobo, but can't find anything to get a glimpse how it could look.

    Thanks for the review. 🙏🏼
    I like the aesthetic, and I really like the fact that it's made by ASRock (I *am* an ASRock fanboi 😇). It's very robust in terms of its features, but I really don't like the lack of cooling for the M.2_2 & M.2_3 slots. I'm somebody who _would_ use them, and in order to properly cool the SSDs occupying them I'd necessarily have to ruin the motherboard's aesthetic (which is one of the primary attractions of the N7) in the process.
    I also don't like CAM. I've had to use CAM in my two most recent personal builds (this one in an H210i chassis, and the previous one employing a Kraken AIO), and it *always* under-reports my CPU temperature (on both builds 🙄) by 6°C. (I just received CAM's v4.67.3 update yesterday, in fact, and HWiNFO64 is still showing a 6 degree higher temp. 😆)
    So at the end of the day, I'd rather purchase an ASRock motherboard. They may not produce this _exact_ SKU under the _ASRock_ label, but I don't necessarily see that as a *bad* thing. 🤔
    EDIT: Typo Management

      Interesting observation for the temps, maybe it uses wrong sensor from the board and you are looking at another one in the HWInfo. Also there is a thing that CAM and HWInfo could clash with each other and give you wrong info, as HWInfo is polling like every seconds, while CAM as I remember reads the sensor every 3-5 seconds so that is why you are getting different readings.
      Idk personaly I have no issues with CAM and I was surprised how it is ok now compared to much older versions from 2020 and past ones...

    • @MikeBob2023
      @MikeBob2023 4 місяці тому

      @@LevelUPGamingTech If it was a case of the two programs somehow stepping on one another, I don't believe the differential in reported temperatures would be the same six degrees across two completely different platforms (this one being Windows 11-based, run by a 13th generation i9 CPU, while the other one is Windows 10 system on a 7th generation i7).
      I think it's more likely that CAM is just getting it wrong. I say this because I've diligently searched HWiNFO's temperature readings for one that is consistently 6 degrees higher than what it's reporting as the CPU temperature (which I would presume to be the same sensor CAM is reporting from), but I can't find it -- not at idle or under load.
      Either way, I'm trusting HWiNFO's reporting over CAM's. 😏

    The board looks great, but some design choices are questionable.
    Especially for the $270 pricetag, since there're better alternatives.
    Still, I do hope they stick around and improve 🙂
