18 months ago when I purchased my Duke 200, I really liked the svart.. but the salesman confessed that they don't get much push to sell Huskies, hope that changes with 401.
Thanks Aditya! Test bikes are not really that big a challenge, but with our small team and quality ambitions, speed is. Subscribers: we'd rather have quality than quantity, honestly, and to us the people we have here in MotorInc Fam is the conversation we'd like to have and we're not convinced that a much larger subscriber count is a good goal for us.
Test drove the Svartpilen 401 today. I'm 6 feet tall, my knee was hitting the curves on the fuel tank and because of the tiny rear brake lever, it was straight up uncomfortable to push on the brake, as I had to bend my foot at an awkward angle to get a hold. The new Dukes and Svart/Vit are compact and geared towards people shorter than 6 feet. I test drove the Scrambler 400X just before the Svartpilen and had none of these issues, in fact, I didn't anticipate it being quite so large. However, I didn't like the Scrambler as much as the Svartpilen. The Scrambler was not rev happy and it felt strained. The Svartpilen was brilliant when revving up, especially with the quick shifter.
Thanks for sharing @anirudh64! Fwiw, Shumi's 6ft tall as well but he did not have any issue with any of these motorcycles. So, what are you getting from the three? Or looking at something else?
I want shumi sir to start his own motorcycle brand so that people can have much better options in the market. I'll buy almost all of the bikes from your portfolio😂
Hi shumi , big fan of your journalism having some noob doubts 1. If i am using handle bar raisers and met with an accident due to a totally different issue so can insurer deny the claim? 2. I am planning to buy this bike but tubed tire are bugging me so either i will spent 10 k for way2speed tubeless conversion or will use 250's alloys on this so will it hamper my insurance claim in any way? As insurer will treat them as modification
1. In theory yes, in practice, unlikely 2. We'd change the alloys and ask the agent to add the wheels as an accessory to the insurance policy so they're covered.
@@motorinc Ok we can add it as an accessories but wont the insurer claim that bike actually was made for tubed spoke rims we were using alloys so it made the bikes balance incorrect and due to that accident happened and we are denying you claim ? If possible can you please mention this info in some of your shorts because I was trying to find this information from a long time but it is not present anywhere even chatgpt failed :( thank you
@@motorinc should one buy insurance from the dealer only or go with aftermarket cheaper solution... name few insurers which we should avoid at any cost? Thanks
Awesome episode, I was waiting for it with bated breath because the Svart bug has bitten me hard and I really want to get one - provided the Test Ride is a success. One query - can you guys help with the suspension settings - as in, I have never done that in a bike so far, so any pointers as to where to start and how to go about understanding how to tweak them? I understand that it's a P&C of 5 and 5 settings, but what helps in which terrain is something that would be a great starting point! Thank you for the awesome video!
Just booked the Svart 401.. Aggressive design of the duke aint for me and Rc series aint gonna work on the place i work.. You guyz and Ryan from F9 convinced me to go for the test ride. THANKS A LOT.

Hello people, so I've been thinking of getting a speed 400 before this I've only ridden my fathers splendor which at this point is more or less 18+ years old, my question is should i still get the speed 400 ? Is it a good choice ? The reason I'm going for the speed 400 is that everywhere i keep hearing that it's a calm and easy going city bike, plus im confident that i can get used to riding it relatively well in about a week's time
We generally don't recommend bikes over 30bhp for people with limited riding experience (in terms of performance, not years). However, the Speed 400 is, as you say, easy to get on with.
Great Video as Usual❤❤ What a nice way to start a Sunday morning. I like the 401 more than 390. Its Subtle but Special at same time. Only question I have is, Since the new 390 Adventure is OTW, will there will be a Norden 401 parallel to it.? Coz I like the Norden 901 more than 890 ADV.
I would be lying if I said that I'm waiting patiently for the vitpilen 250 review, because I'm as twitchy and excited as... well, a ktm 😂 The irony! But please take your time, wonderful people at Motorinc, I know it's going to be worth the while waiting for the Vitpilen review!!
I have the Svartpilen 250, only brought it because it looked really good. The issues I felt were the low ground clearance and the fuel tank. The seat height was not a problem as I am near 6 feet.
For context, i ride a 390 adv and was given a loaner vitpilen, thought it would feel as compact as a duke, but rightly put straight seat feels more roomy /its not as aggressive /seating ergonomics are better than interceptor and given the low centre of gravity and sharp handling, it flicks sharply but doesnt make it as obvious
I think another issue with the Husqvarna is that even the sales people seem clueless about it, I recently visited a KTM dealership to try the 250 and I just saw these and I asked the guy about them and he just told me that this brand is KTM owned and nothing else. He never mentioned that it has engine from the 390 which for me would have been a game changer. The 390 tbvh is too sporty looking for my taste the same package in a more retro classy look was what I was looking for but I only got to know about that just now after watching this video.
MotorInc team, your content is amazing, you've probably heard it enough times already, but who doesn't like to hear it again right!? 😆 1. The quality of the content as a whole package is something I've never seen, and I've been watching automotive journalism and reviews for over a decade. 2. The sheer quantity and quality of the information you provide is something very practical and still aspirational. We can relate to the things you say and learn something new always. 3. The unbiased opinions away from brand collaborations is something we all need. Honestly, we aren't even sure who we can trust anymore with reviews. You aren't afraid to mention your friends/colleagues you share the discussions with and that just speaks about your credibility and the experience you have. 4. The honest and upfront feedback you provide in the videos is absolutely amazing 😍. Lastly, absolutely love you guys on camera, it feels I'm back in my college geeking on these machines.
I wish i had this option in college. I don't begrudge the Karizma i had at the time but the Svartpilen looks SO good and it has the best thing KTMs don't: the calmness.
As much as I appreciate your style of presentation and in-depth technical talk about the products. What I really would like from Team MotorInc. is to actually shoot videos (large format and not 2 minute clips) that are hands-on with the products and you are actually driving them + testing them + sharing your feedback and wealth of information.
Thanks for the feedback. We want to make videos that match our quality expectations, and until we can, we won't create content formats/shows just because, Obelix76
For a human of 5' 8" and a lady pillion of 5'2", how good/bad both Vit and Svart would be for long rides touring ? And any retrofit that can help in overcoming the short comings? We did a test ride of 5Km and liked the space and comfort inside the city with traffic but still confused about long rides in highway.
Ah finally! This was the one that i saw on street the other day, it's just as u said, i remember seeing HUS.. and blank😆 i thought I'd google it after reaching home, but guess what happened i had forgotten the HUS.. part too🤦 Always nice to know abt new motorcycles, good work team motorinc!
Can we compare these with RE350 , Cb350, Speed400 and x440. Because all those are Dull bikes where as Husqvarna 250 and 401 engines are very powerful and Now as they become comfortable and pratical. I believe they are worthy competitors. For people who prefers praticality and Both Fun to ride bike. Husqvarna will be a Fantastic One and Only Option Now. Please elaborate on this topic on your Further videos
The KTM impression is subjective in my opinion. And it shouldn't be an issue. Let's say, someone who doesn't know much about motorcycles might fall for such an impression. They probably are not very experienced or passionate about motorcycles and like you said, that kind of performance, they cannot cope up with that. On the other hand, for someone like me, who always wanted one, understands that the skill to performancr delta is huge and I need to level up myself before laying hands on it. I would say, the KTM impression is only about social media and not for serious riders. Coming to this bike, I always liked the Husqvarna's design but the 250s were too compact for my liking. This can likely be my next bike as I want to upgrade the motorcycle in the next year or so. Especially the KTMs ask much more of your engagement to enjoy them.
The Motor inc show is so intuitive and entertaining you can listen to it in the metro or watch tucked in bed. Theres something for every viewer. Keep it up ❤️
As I keep saying! Marvelous Presentation! Only one thing I'd like to add! The Vocal Audio needs a little bit of tweaking for both of you guys! I mean the It sounds a little muddy at places, the Lows dominate the Mids and the Highs and then again everything comes back to place after a couple of mins! And then it happens again and this whole thing keeps happening throughout the video! Although whatever you guys say is completely audible! It's just that smidge of imperfection and I dont relate with Motorinc!I mean most people wouldn't probably notice it but being a Small Time musician who has learnt a few things about audio balancing it affects me 😅 It could be a microphone issue though! Because I've noticed this before also!
Yesterday i ride both duke 390 gen3 and Husqvarna svartpilen 401. I see the difference and i love duke so much i can't express my feelings, i love that machine, i always think why shumi always talk about Duke's, know i know that why. And svartpilen 401 is also good.
5:31 I would say that having a 250cc café and a 400cc scrambler makes sense in our market. 1) Café because there is no café racer - looking motorcycle in the 250cc class and someone who wants to buy a motorcycle on the fact that it looks like a café wouldn't have to pay a substantial amount to buy the RE Conti. I mean, if a buyers budget it low but wants a bike to look like a café, he/she might probably be okay with having lesser power in their bike. Agree? 2) 400cc Scrambler because Scramblers are "do-it-all" bikes and when it comes to it, we have a mindset that the bike needs to have at least a certain amount of power and torque to be able to "do-it all" Of course I am giving my opinion in a general sense but what good it does to Husq.... (Struggles to spell it and decides to call it Huskies) Huskies, time has to tell.
I was waiting for your comments when the bikes were launched. When I saw the 250’s for the first time in 2022, I immediately fell in love with the neo-retro design. I even took a test-ride of the Svartpilen and was so excited to ride it. I followed them on insta but it was so boring when they had nothing to do but repost the same pictures of the same colours over and over again! Unfortunately, while the design was gorgeous, I couldn’t get over how messy the bike looked up close. It was a huge disappointment. I told myself that I’ll wait for the 400’s. I too thought that the Svart would look great in white! I hope this brand is marketed properly and the riders more involved just like KTM does with rides, accessories etc.
Hi MotorInc, I am very confused between the Svartpilen 401 and Speed 400, i mainly travel 45km up and down everyday in peek bangluru trafic and looking for something very comfirtable and easy to ride, I have taken the test drive of speed 400 and didn't like the sound of fan when stuck in traffic as the fan was making more noice then the engine, still waiting for a test drive of Svarpilen 401. Also, since the 401 has the adjustabele suspention which will be the most comfirable bike Speed 400 or The Svartpilen 401 with the suspention tuned for comfirt. Love your content!!!
I'm seeking a bike that can handle various terrains, including highways, city streets, and off-road conditions, considering that Indian roads are unpredictable. Which option would be more comfortable to ride and able to fulfill my diverse riding needs? Please assist me in making this decision.
Hey Motorinc, you missed the most Important Thing man! The servicing part. Where will these be getting serviced, what can be the average cost and the timing?
this is a bike im going to consider buying because as much as i love the dukes my younger cousin (who lives a completly different life than me, and has an opposite attitude about motoring itself) owns one. and i know that is a bad reason to not get one but it is what it is.
You are right when you say people didn’t know where to buy it I was aware of husqvarna and when i finally saw it on road i always thought the rider has imported it I never knew its been launched in India
This video totally makes sense, coming from FZS v2 I felt Husqverna to be more suitable for me, the posture was familiar and option to let it rip is just awesome. Which BTW I felt was missing in Scram 400x and felt a bit top heavy for me and I know I did not want to put extra effort getting into that extra bit of learning curve for a scrambler for me, and I personally didn't like the instrument cluster of Speed 400 and I'd rather stick to 401 and get a familiar riding posture and be comfortable knowing I'm in command and in future I'd like change the spokes to alloy for street riding(If Vitpilen was offered in 401 I'd have had gone for that instead for sure + handlebar raiser).
Since I started to learn about motorcycle (not riding them, I've just got my licence), I was always confused and devastated by the choice between Svartpilen 250 and VStorm 250 sx. I know, why being confused between these two. Vstorm is clearly a winner by specs and utility. I am aware of it. But, something about Svartpilen, that made me think. I am a bit sad to know that at this moment Svartpilen 250(ah the spelling is so long) is not available. So, VStorm is clear the winner for me. Without a fight. I am capping myself within 250cc because I'm new. I don't know why I am saying all these, but you folks have done a lot for me, unknowingly. Infact the first great motorcycle review video I watched, was the Vstorm review by Shumi. I was hooked. Hopefully oneday I will get a Vstorm. Thanks a lot Motorinc
there are a lot of 400 and 350cc's out there which are beginer friendly bro. Don't restrict yourself with the 250cc's. Take a test drive and decide for yourself.
Around the 2 nd minute you told thte peiple cant find Husqwarna stores , luckily in Bangalore about 5 minutes away from me are 3 parallel stores a ktm , bajaj and husqwarna and all of them are such great dealers who are fanatics and they offer the best service which is something so rare now days
Pls auggest a 120kmph cruising motorcycle which cana tour..... for me cruising means minimal vibration and engine can sustain that speed for few hours Also I am 5' 7" so seat height could be an issue Currently I ride avenger cruise 220 and am quite satisfied with it except for high speed cruising......
Hey so I went for a test ride and I love it. Now I am making a decision to get it and it will be my first bike (don’t worry, I have ridden 20 bhp and 47 bhp bikes for good distances), thing is I’m tall and broad built, when I rode it, I didn’t felt it’s small or any sort of discomfort but from a third person view bike looks small for my size. Now I’m hesitant about this purchase because of this size issue, it shouldn’t be a dealbreaker right?
Since it shares many parts with duke, does that mean that even if its sales are stopped by the company in the future, an owner would be able to maintain the bike, the spares parts & service etc in the long run? I really like the duke but im not a fan of the design, especially what the design and colours have started to represent to a layman due to the social media tic tock and whatnot. For context, I have a first gen duke 200, so i love the performance but the present design is a bit much, mine is pretty subtle, very very little orange or colour, most of it used to be black.
We never recommend that Domi. 390X is okay but the 401 vs 390X is potatoes vs ball-point pen. No comparison at all in how they feel, what they do... anything. So it depends on your preference, intention and goals. Get a test ride on both and ping us?

Shumi? Will you make a bike some day? Plis?
As in MotorInc's own motorcycle? Hmm... let's see atraversal. We know Shumi's personal view is "I'd rather be riding"
It looks crazy man, nothing in the market looks like the Huskies
Indeed @Vikrum_ If only the names were easier to pronounce for people! 😁
Finally! Was waiting for you guys to discuss the 401 since forever. Anyway, you guys gave me a good start to a lazy Sunday.
Glad to be included in your Sunday plans, Gautam!
An easier thing if existing companies watch this channel and take notes.
Karthik's brain missed a gear and was immediately flooded with confusion at 16:18. Beautiful!!!
🤣
Hi shumi , big fan of your journalism having some noob doubts
1. In theory yes, in practice, unlikely
2. We'd change the alloys and ask the agent to add the wheels as an accessory to the insurance policy so they're covered.
@@motorinc
Ok we can add it as an accessories but wont the insurer claim that bike actually was made for tubed spoke rims we were using alloys so it made the bikes balance incorrect and due to that accident happened and we are denying you claim ?
If possible can you please mention this info in some of your shorts because I was trying to find this information from a long time but it is not present anywhere even chatgpt failed :(
thank you
It can happen but we suspect it will not end up in a claim denial
@@motorinc should one buy insurance from the dealer only or go with aftermarket cheaper solution... name few insurers which we should avoid at any cost? Thanks
Yay!! Love the time the episodes come out. Hour long Cab ride to office got whole lot infotaining.
Yay! Glad we solved something!
Congratulations @countmenses689! We wish you a great time of riding the Svart.
Please make videos on bike manufacturer their past present future how they work how they execute how is their partnership going on with bigger manufacturer and where it lead to indian manufacturer what are their pluses and minuses what they misses how competitive their technology are
What had their achievement ...
Understood! Request noted!
What a class you guys are... The reaction of Shumi and Karthikeya in Karthikeya's summary always makes me smile...
Thank you 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🖖🏽
Much love from Nepal! Been waiting eagerly for this one, keep up the awesome work 💪
Hope you enjoyed it! Thanks Rishav!
Love this format… especially the fact the one of the host seems so in awe with the other seeming like a guru, one may mistake that the earlier one is happy high…
Ahah! Glad you enjoyed the watch!
Should be, Siddarth, but no official confirmations yet at all
I would be lying if I said that I'm waiting patiently for the vitpilen 250 review, because I'm as twitchy and excited as... well, a ktm 😂 The irony!
But please take your time, wonderful people at Motorinc, I know it's going to be worth the while waiting for the Vitpilen review!!
This video helps me alot to understand about the bike. I went to showroom today i checked it directly. Yes the bike is appealing more nice and bigger.
Good to know! Thanks for keeping us posted!
I have the Svartpilen 250, only brought it because it looked really good. The issues I felt were the low ground clearance and the fuel tank. The seat height was not a problem as I am near 6 feet.
same, I dont understand all the issues besides the one you mentioned above they are subjective.
owned vitpilen for about 3 years now.. my only problem is it still look too good 😎
Best review channel on youtube. I just love listening to you guys. The passion can be felt through the screen. Thanks Shumi and Kartikeya
Hey @amaanhussain9451! Thanks for sharing. Where was this?
MotorInc team, your content is amazing, you've probably heard it enough times already, but who doesn't like to hear it again right!? 😆
4:48 little correction... globally there are 6......700 cc also
We weren't talking about globally at all. When they don't offer those products here, what is the relevance of those to India?
39:10
That "I usually do, _thanks_ " sent me through the rails. 😆
🤣
As much as I appreciate your style of presentation and in-depth technical talk about the products. What I really would like from Team MotorInc. is to actually shoot videos (large format and not 2 minute clips) that are hands-on with the products and you are actually driving them + testing them + sharing your feedback and wealth of information.
Thanks for the feedback. We want to make videos that match our quality expectations, and until we can, we won't create content formats/shows just because, Obelix76
as a solo rider at the age of 23, who rides bikes just for fun, i absolutely love my bike.
Thanks for sharing your perspective!
Your pronunciation is actually pretty good 👌
//your friendly swede
Ah finally! This was the one that i saw on street the other day, it's just as u said, i remember seeing HUS.. and blank😆 i thought I'd google it after reaching home, but guess what happened i had forgotten the HUS.. part too🤦
Always nice to know abt new motorcycles, good work team motorinc!
Haha! Thanks ayeayepeople! We like that fact we're regularly seeing you here too!
At 17:08, what did you guys mute out?
Keep it up ❤️
Thanks a ton! We'll pass your compliments on to the team!
Perfect way to begin with the brand name and history. New bike company opened up in our books!
I've got the 2020 Svart, I am not sure if the 401 is for me simply because in my eyes the 2020 design is just unbeatable.
When shumi said "hey google ... Husqvarna"... My google assistant responded as I was listening on speakers 😂... Damn
It's just that smidge of imperfection and I dont relate with Motorinc!I mean most people wouldn't probably notice it but being a Small Time musician who has learnt a few things about audio balancing it affects me 😅
It could be a microphone issue though! Because I've noticed this before also!
the expression of Karthik's face at 23:33 for the road.. haha priceless ! :D :D :D
🤣
24:21 what are the smoother bikes at and above 120kmph?
R1 M
LETS GO!! , Thank you guys for the review on this bike , one of my dream bikes for sure!
🤜🏽🤛🏽
Yesterday i ride both duke 390 gen3 and Husqvarna svartpilen 401. I see the difference and i love duke so much i can't express my feelings, i love that machine, i always think why shumi always talk about Duke's, know i know that why. And svartpilen 401 is also good.
Really sounds like you enjoyed riding the Duke @amritraj2785. 😅 Thanks for sharing!
One request please make a comparison of Huskies, ktm, triumph, Bajaj, Honda, re guerrilla 450 please , like a ride review
Ye thoda zyada nahi ho jayega @rohitdangale3594?🤣
5:31 I would say that having a 250cc café and a 400cc scrambler makes sense in our market.
1) Café because there is no café racer - looking motorcycle in the 250cc class and someone who wants to buy a motorcycle on the fact that it looks like a café wouldn't have to pay a substantial amount to buy the RE Conti. I mean, if a buyers budget it low but wants a bike to look like a café, he/she might probably be okay with having lesser power in their bike. Agree?
2) 400cc Scrambler because Scramblers are "do-it-all" bikes and when it comes to it, we have a mindset that the bike needs to have at least a certain amount of power and torque to be able to "do-it all"
Of course I am giving my opinion in a general sense but what good it does to Husq.... (Struggles to spell it and decides to call it Huskies) Huskies, time has to tell.
man the intro music is too good ...
Loved the passing 'Husq' and reference to Rajesh Koothrappali😆
♥️
Hi MotorInc,
I am very confused between the Svartpilen 401 and Speed 400, i mainly travel 45km up and down everyday in peek bangluru trafic and looking for something very comfirtable and easy to ride, I have taken the test drive of speed 400 and didn't like the sound of fan when stuck in traffic as the fan was making more noice then the engine, still waiting for a test drive of Svarpilen 401.
Also, since the 401 has the adjustabele suspention which will be the most comfirable bike Speed 400 or The Svartpilen 401 with the suspention tuned for comfirt.
Love your content!!!
Why not get a test ride? It'll clear up a lot very quickly, Akash!
2:13 what a way to put it!!! Husq.... And the bike disappears! Love these situational, real-world observations which are hilarious! 😂
I'm seeking a bike that can handle various terrains, including highways, city streets, and off-road conditions, considering that Indian roads are unpredictable. Which option would be more comfortable to ride and able to fulfill my diverse riding needs? Please assist me in making this decision.
He s looking damn cool ! 👌🏽 with minimalistic like the 401 😁
Really hope we get a separate short review for the Vitpilen 250 as well once the testing is done ! Can't wait 😄
We are waiting for test bikes too!
Sunday has become so crucial listening to Shumi and kart ❤ peace next level
Hey Motorinc, you missed the most Important Thing man!
The servicing part. Where will these be getting serviced, what can be the average cost and the timing?
Its exactly same as KTMs, which is pretty good
Another engaging first look❤...Vitpilen can be remembered as 'white'pilen .... It means white arrow!
Svartpilen means black arrow!
this is a bike im going to consider buying because as much as i love the dukes my younger cousin (who lives a completly different life than me, and has an opposite attitude about motoring itself) owns one. and i know that is a bad reason to not get one but it is what it is.
The intro is very addictive ❤
You are right when you say people didn’t know where to buy it
I was aware of husqvarna and when i finally saw it on road i always thought the rider has imported it
I never knew its been launched in India
VStrom 250 is a great bike.
@@ajaikrishnajm9146 thanks for the info. I will keep that it mind :)
@@Dheeeeraj it certainly looks so. I will rent one to see how it actually feels
I hope I get to work with team MotorInc someday! The editing and content are both world-class. Love each episode.
Thanks Shivvashishtha! Best of luck!
Man motorinc is on the roll!! It's one video after another. Awesome guys
I own a svartpilen 250 since 2021. Done 20k km km it.. Throw any question you guys have
“Huss..” and it’s gone 😂😂😂
Loved the episode. Never had this pov for Husqvarna. Seems like more accessible now.
Looking at the tires, pairing the STRs with the Scrambler 400X once the MRFs wear out would be interesting!
Pls auggest a 120kmph cruising motorcycle which cana tour..... for me cruising means minimal vibration and engine can sustain that speed for few hours
Also I am 5' 7" so seat height could be an issue
Currently I ride avenger cruise 220 and am quite satisfied with it except for high speed cruising......
Husqvarna needs more promotion and marketing, but its Design only speaks to very specific & small audience IMO. But I like it.
Thanks for letting us know!
Pleaaaase make video on Vitpilen 250 as well. If it’s as beginner friendly and fun to ride as the Duke 250, I’ll seriously consider buying it.
As soon as we can!
We wouldn't worry. In India, manufacturers are legally required to make sure parts and spares are available for 15 years from launch
Shumi which one to buy the adv 390 X or this ? Maybe even domi what's your take ?
We never recommend that Domi. 390X is okay but the 401 vs 390X is potatoes vs ball-point pen. No comparison at all in how they feel, what they do... anything. So it depends on your preference, intention and goals. Get a test ride on both and ping us?
Surely ✨🙌
