The Bay Movie Review
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 вер 2024
- I review The Bay, directed by Barry Levinson. Yes, it's found footage, but we won't hold that against it yet. The found footage gimmick, despite being a bit played out, is slightly more effective presented in a documentary format. It grounds the movie in reality, and it feels like this could happen. Enjoy your swim.

Barry Levinson

Lmao
UGH

I’M SICK OF THIS CRAP
this is one of the actual good found footage movies (in my opinion lol), because it actually seem realistic.
would never watch on cinema tho
It's the fact the bugs are real that's what gets me lol
@@whitworthlime8793 totally! When I saw that the bugs are real o lost my shit.
@@Faby07aleixo I think I first saw the bugs on one of those top 10 videos. It's the fact the same picture was used in the movie as well. Chilling!!
@@whitworthlime8793 yup, totally. I had seen photos of the bugs before the movie, which didn't help at all lol.
One of the two divers were turned into a walrus by crazy old man
Polite cat Boi Tusk is the shit!!!
FUCKING HELL IM GETTING WALR FLASHBACKS.
**Screams in Walrus**
MR TUUUUUUUUUUSSSSK!
Funniest shit I've ever seen
As someone who lives by the Chesapeake Bay, the most unbelievable part of this film is the fact that the locals didn't start cooking up the parasitic isopods in Old Bay seasoning.
Agreed! - from Baltimore🦀😉
@@kristennelson3190 I second this, also a Baltimoron 😝
not from baltimore from australia infant and i third this
I love this comment so much
I live in northern Virginia and I would eat that if you put it in some sort of sauce
"endgame spoilers"
Say what
How does the bay and endgame meet.... Ohhh
i dont get it
??????
@@Karnivor-0us avengers joke smh
@@Karnivor-0us Probably everyone dies.
Found footage films are rarely done well. I like Cloverfield and the original Blair witch, but most of the time they are gimmicky and give me nausea
In my opinion, a good found footage movie should also have some lore people can discover for themselves outside cinema, like with Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield
Maybe the first 20 minutes?
@@theNewBee woah I got hearted... Life is worth living
I may be bias, but I appreciate Blair Witch so much because it took place in my state. Other than The Wire, not much happens in Maryland cinema wise. There were people genuinely convinced it was real even years later.
I mean Burkittsville is scary, but it's no Boonsboro....or Hagerstown.
I know right? I get motion sickness easily when watching "shaky cam" style found footage movies.
The Bay is much better.
"Maybe her labia are screaming for air". Lmao.
Cookie Bookie A country

I have to admit...the scene where that thing goes up the guys arm made me jump.

I threw my computer across the room
Yeah that was pretty disgusting.
I did that nervous laugh afterwards to make it look like it didn't make me shit myself. But we all know it did.
I'm sorry but i am still not over your intro being 10th doctors opening! XD
I really enjoyed the bay it was pretty creepy and unsettling, a hidden gem, and the fact that animal agriculture runoff and a corrupt politician causes the outbreak makes it seem like it could happen!
Oh yeah absolutely. I live by the Chesapeake Bay and honestly parasitic isopods wouldn't be the worst thing in there, pollution is a major issue. The movie was actually kind of funny, acting like the locals would be remotely surprised by horrible monsters living in the Bay.
For people who still haven't watched Endgame yet (and Star Wars: The force awakens), the spoilers are at 6:35 'till 7:00
Don't read the comments on this comment. Someone posted the spoiler there.
Thanks!
Thanks so much! I really wanted to watch but I didn’t want anything spoiled.
@sO gUyS wE dId It OK I will. I gotta watch infinity war before that though.

Thx man

Sounds like something AN ISOPOD WOULD SAY
DS2 was crap but Shanalotte is still best Waifu I should have not eaten Doritos during this
100th like, you're welcome.

"There's something on your arm." Me: looks at my arm, "oh, a dust bunny." Turns back get scared again by the icapod.
I thought it said "the baby"
Which made me more terrified

Dababy
I actually jumped when that bug came out of the fish’s mouth
i didn't even though what came out of it's mouth is a occurrence in real life there fucking real
@@raaston9761 well there are some pretty big parasites in the world, But I think the movie creators amped the size for extra scare. The size is fictional, but not saying it’s impossible.
This movie killed me when I was in highschool. Specifically the scene of the fat woman covered in rashes screaming for help and that she can't find her husband. Her voice is raw and she is so desperate but even in a crowd of people no one helps. She's dying in pain and scared. Which isn't uncommon but after this movie I can't stand to see anyone like that in a movie.
I read "The baby review" and was so confused because I couldn't imagine how you can review a baby😂
0/10, it turned out all the body horror stopped being cute when it wasn't related to me.
12:19 - - "...if this were to happened, they would be completely unprepared and we're all doomed."
Truer words were never spoken.

@@SamTheUndying You better get that looked at.
And so timely. Greetings from Covid-19 times.
Ohh that aged so well
When the bug pops out of the fish scared the crap outa me
there is a real parasite that rips out a fishes tounge and then replaces it to suck fishes blood
I read an interview with John Carpenter in which he remarks that found footage movies are lazy because they're basically directed by the director of photography. I agree with him.
BTW: nice to see that your channel is growing. Keep up the good work.
That type of isopod that lives in the mouths of certain fish isn't really a parasite. It's a symbiote. It basically replaces the fish's tongue which sort of deflates. If it's removed, the fish's tongue returns to normal after some time. When it's in the fish's mouth, it basically functions as a replacement tongue. At least that's what I've read.
*Edit/Note:* So it's basically Aylmer from Brain Damage.
I really like this guy. I feel like he’s a super cool uncle.
The bug crawling up the arm and the blood dropping on the reporters face really made me jump.
Now the thought of stifled, suffocating labia is stuck in my head. Wearing sweats today. Love the video; I love it when I see a review of yours for a movie I've seen. It cracks me up.
It's impossible for me to estimate what age this guy is
I remember I sneaked into a theater while this was airing with my cousin and let me tell you we high tailed it outta there 20 minutes in.
Seriously I got physically sick looking at those images,my stomach was hurting and I couldn't even eat the popcorn I was holding.
Seriously
I spat my Coke at: *Doctor Who openings are getting Really weird* xd
...Not that i should have drinked anything during this review
Yeah....drinking doesn't end good during his videos....
I honestly felt this was the most realistic found footage because of the way the government handled it... “a small town, doctor, we must keep this in perspective” that line got me bad...
One time many years ago I found one of those tongue lice or something similar in a fried mullet which was one of my favorite fish suffice to say haven't really eaten mullet since
Your humble comedy brightens
my life
I was just looking for something to watch great timing
Same.
OH MY GOD UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I FREAKING LOVE YOU AND YOUR CHANNEL, IT GIVES ME LIFE. I turn 16 tomorrow and this is like an early brithday gift so thank you!!!
Happy birthday!
Love how your UA-cam channel is starting to grow
Nice job keep up the great work
Somehow you continually review the exact movies I want to see a review on?
That’s exactly what I was going to say! I smiled instantly when I saw The Bee was reviewing The Bay!
GlobalsoftPirka I know! I've always wanted to see what this movie was like but I didn't want to buy it.
Jeez i feel rly bad for anyone who hasnt seen endgame.
The spoilers, there everywhere.
Ah I see, the whole movie is about a bunch of isopods that are mutated ones and they turn some people into zombies. Also The police officer shot the guy because he spoiled Endgame
movie takes place in July 2009 but they said the girl was facetiming. FaceTime wasn’t released until June 2010. this bothered me a lot
I had a nightmare about this after watching it. Granted I was still in my teens, but by then I was well seasoned in horror. Assimilation movies def get me
I read the title as "the bee movie" and got pretty confused when i saw the skull,
Bro not cool, my brothers sisters aunts step cousins god fathers nephew died from the fish disease 🦠 not cool to joke around like that man
Can you please review ‘The Borderlands’, it is also a found footage movie
4:49 i already watch the movie but this still make me back away from the screen
Cmon man, its 2019. You need a more high quality intro. LOVE YOUR VIDS
There actually is a found footage comedy. I watched a few years ago, but sadly can’t remember the name. The story was about this guy who throws a party at his parents house. Where it gets out of hand.
Project x
probably one of the best found footage movies, project x
@@Robbaz99999 yasssssssssss loved that fkin movie LMAO!
I say this as someone who lives in MD, I wouldn't be surprised if the Chesapeake Bay, especially the Inner Harbor, really is polluted and full of parasites. Its nasty
How are there endgame spoilers in a review about the bay.......
.....ohhhhh
Okay, not only are these videos absolutely the most chillax movie rundowns ever, but the comments are so wholesomeeee
Maybe it's just her labia screaming for hair -
This movie scared the #### out of me when I was a teen
I died at "wanna bulk up? Pure chicken shit" LOL
Thank you for your channel! It's a breath of fresh air and I love the videos you choose to review. Keep up the great work!
I love you swearing it's the best thing ever along with great reviews make you so likable as a reviewer
Agree
I actually remember seeing this movie and it scared the fucking shit out of me it has some issues but the idea of something like this happening it gets you thinking
Yep. Coulda been much freakier if the news stuff wasn't dull. One thing I did like was the slight change in perky intern to sullen reporter
There's actually a sequel to this.
It's called 'The Michael Bay'.
No particular story but _everything_ blows up.
only thing i have to disagree on is the flavor of the skittles pox... It is clearly pain flavored.
But they look more like a melted, stuck to the back of the really big lady on the beach after laying on a few bags of skittles kind of skittles...
Fun fact, there really does exist a species of parasitic loach that climbs into the mouths of fish, eat their tongues, and then grip the stump to become a new tongue. Probably where the inspiration for this movie came from
I Love this movie!!! I live in Maryland, and we vacation in Ocean City, and all around the Chesapeake Bay. This seems like something that could easily become reality, which is why it freaks me out in the best possible way! The amount of chicken farming ( and the enormous amount of poop that leads to!! ) is a fact, and so is the pollution, unfortunately. My Mom was NOT happy with me when I described the plot of this film to her!!😉
🦀🍺💙
YoU dIdN't WaRn Me AbOuT tHe FoRcE aWaKeNeD sPoIlErS?!!!!1!!
Im chilling then all of a sudden this guy adds a increased volume clip and im like okay buddy back to lowering you
I mean...Documentary footage is usually cheap looking because it uses a variety of camera types used. Same with the pacing. A real documentary doesn't have to follow the three act structure like a movie, & I would think, a mockumentary wouldn't either
My dumbass brain put the title and the channel name together and I read the baby movie. Put me out of misery.
57 isopods desliked.
Yassss so happy to see this notification 😂 can't wait for another one see ya next time👋
...... THERE'S SOMETHING ON YOU'RE ARM 😂🐝 🐝
after watching this i had an awful nightmare about lampreys going in my ass in a lake
Would Project X count as a POV comedy?
Also, The Visit is a horror comedy.
Can someone (anyone) tell me the name of the lady at 1:01 for ... research purposes
Just saw the cutest cat video of a kitten climbing this guy's leg
Wait you haven't seen project x? That's a found footage comedy.
I was watching this and eating dinner. Not a good idea folks 😬
Anyone else get itchy with this type of body horror? 🤢 I need several showers after this crap
This is why I only drink hard liquor during my summer fair visits, and I'm a functioning alcoholic.
"i have yet to see a pov comedy"
[insert Peep show would like to know your location joke]
*the best part of waking up is chicken shit in your cup*
I'm just sitting at the dock of the bay...
Cloverfield, Chronicle my favourite found footage movies
Plot twist: the creatures that killed all the fish are isopods
The ending comments were somewhat prophetic
Love that I am just realizing they filmed this in my hometown wtf
"Dude, you screamed like a little girl. Toodles!" *splash*
But yea; those things are supposed to be tongue-eating lice, a real-life fish parasite that attach themselves to fishes' tongues and suck blood out of it until the thing atrophies and falls off and the louse grips the stump to become the fish's new tongue while feeding off, purportedly, the fish's mucus.
Really? So chicken shit and steroids in the water cause tongue-eating lice to become Las Plagas? That's on par with animal stimulants creating super zombies a la Peter Jackson's Braindead. Except that was played for comedy and not as a serious plot point.
" her last word was a poop emoji. "
Dude, you deserve more than 27K subs..
If you haven't already can you do a review on the movie District 9 I love that movie and I would love to see a review on it and I like the new intro for your videos I kind of like the old one but this one is kind of better
I'll be honest, I loved the bit of the cameraman and lady taking the long way around the fountain (both the original clip, and your take with an excellent choice of Benny Hill). It just cracks me up.
i thought it said the baby multiple times until you said 'the bay' and i was like what!? and checked the title again
i watched this review last night and then watched the actual movie because of it! I actually really liked it, so thanks for introducing it to me! Otherwise, I wouldn't have known it even existed!
Why did I read the title as "The Baby"?
Can you do
Eight Legged Freaks
Ice Spiders
Spiders
Spiders from 2013
Jeepers Creepers 1-3
And Wrong Turn
You really have a thing for spiders don't you
Big Daddy Derpasaurus yes sorry I find them intriguing
I thought the title was The Baby and for a sec i was like "damn babies are some spooky shit"
