Hi, I have a few headphones like the Sundara and ATH R70x, and it turns out I prefer the ATH R70x. The sound staging on those headphones is amazing, and the frequency response is so neutral. My question is, would getting the Audeze MM-100 be considered buying a new experience (upgrading to a higher quality)?

@@SnowmanSunday my personal opinion is - Yes. that's different listening experience. and I prefer MM-100 sound much more than Sundara. I will recommend them for music listening even more than Neumann NDH-30 (but I prefer Neumann's for work).
and I don't like Audio-Technica headphones at all. 70x are closed backs btw. I will choose open backs every day and every night over closed back headphones.

@@hellyeah_tv it’s R-70x tho. not, M-70x. Thanks for your opinion. only closed back headphone that i have is the bluetooth version of M-50x. ATH M 50xBT2. 😄

so in the end ,would you still recommend these headphones for producing EDM? Is 3.5Khz (or so) deal breaker to you? In my country ,they cost like a whole monthly sallary ,so i need to be
    VERY careful. Thanks

@@djolexmusicc well if you don't use studio monitors and another headphones just this - no, don't do that. they will be good for monitoring and mixing but not for mastering. that's mid focused headphones with possibility to work without monitors to control mid range and lows from 20 Hz. you need another set to control sub and compare highs on different sources after. lows goes from 20 Hz when even Beyerdynamic DT line have better bass from 5 Hz. on mastering you need to control balance of the mix and MM-100 wouldn't do this without years of learning their specific sound. but that's planar magnetic drivers and super fast in transients, even better then many studio monitors.
but I can recommend you Neumann NDH-30 for every single task when you producing EDM or another genres. they cost even more but not so much like another powerful player Audeze MM-500. and you can check Sennheiser HD 490 Pro.
I had all those on the test and videos will be on this channel.

@@hellyeah_tv this is literally so exhausting. i am in this rabbit hole for straight 6 months! Neumann's are overly expensive tho. I don't know if it's worth it. Maybe some Sennheiser HD 650 with iFi Zen DAC would be a better combo. This is crazy. So many unnecessary compromises. I hate headphones world ,because everyone is so damn different ,or companies just doing this on purpose.

@@djolexmusicc I used to use studio monitors but I can't use them right now. it's hard to agree with compromises after studio grade sound quality.
but I had three pairs of low impedance headphones (~110-150 Ohm) on the test and all competitors worth of attention. I just don't have enough time to make video production with already filmed footages.
so if NDH-30 too much (but they near perfect) you can grab MM-100 or even Sennheiser HD 490 Pro. it's easy blind choose between them when you have restricted budget.
and they way better than HD 600, 650, 660s2 all Beyerdynamics and many other.
      I hope that's helps.

@@hellyeah_tv since NDH-30 are overly expensive (700 euros in my country which is more than average monthly sallary) ,i might give it a try alongside with MM-100 ,since they don't require headphone AMP and there i can save some money because i already have scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen which is more than enough for headphones ~150hm. For the beyerdynamics ,i really wouldn't like to get tinnitus.Scientifically ,peak around 3.5Khz is much more acceptable on MM-100 than 8-9 khz on beyers. So in other words,i will take a listen on MM-100 since as you mentioned they are better than HD 650 and many other beyerdynamic including DT 1770 pro/1990 pro. People with tinnitus might like them ,but i am more into audiophile - near high-end studio monitors headphone sounding. 🙂☺
