I really appreciate the unboxing so I can see what actually ships with the unit. It is often not easy to tell when viewing marketing materials on the manufacturers website.
One of the most detailed reviewers, along with Passion for Sound and PortaFi you guys all deserve 100x the subs.
This company never stops, real workaholics amongst them. Always creating something new, always trying to offer another product aimed at a different market. Good company, good reviewer, nice combination 😉

Nice review. It was actually revealing to see the combined performance of the stack, and how the linear power changes the sound. I was not surprised, but definitely took notice that the D/A became more clinical and sterile with the power supply. I think it shows the real inherent nature of the D50, and basically how most D/As should be - in pure form everything should be clean, transparent, flat and detailed. If you hear otherwise its colouration introduced by downstream components. Happy to see that such character is revealed by the power supply and the D/A is capable of delivering. Thanks for another nice review.
PS. Do you have a solution of thick and inflexible USB3 cables (even in type C form)? I know its a electrical requirement but if you can point me out to relatively thinner+longer cables, it would work much nicer for pairing my smartphone with such desktop components.

Did you see Topping is working on a A90 amp to match the D90. Could be a killer stack.
I was informed about A90 when I published my D90 written/video review, so almost 2 months ago. Let's say that I have a special relationship with Topping. Will probably review that one too, if it sounds as it measures, then D90 + A90 could the end-game for anybody.

@@keith12311 You need only a pair of RCA interconnects, everything else is included in the P50 and A50S package.
I had this combo. Returned it within days. This amp has no soundstage depth, at all. Everything sounds extremely closed in. Very surprised that this channel gives it a positive review. Even the the cheaper, discontinued predecessor A30 is better in comparison

I have E30 DAC, I was thinking to get a headphone amp to it. Would you recommend the L30 or A50? I am under impression they are having different tonal characteristics. I mostly listen to rock, metal, jazz, raggae. I have Bose Triport headphones.
Compared to my good Aqvox linear power supply unit (not manufactured anymore), the Topping P50 (tested with the excellent Topping E30) has a more open and deep soundstage. This is done by increasing the treble level. However, the bass and slam are lacking. Instruments sound thin and not natural

I really want to write and film more of my reviews. Sadly, a terrible flu hit me last week and glued me to my bed for one week. It passed, but kidney pain remained due to excessive use of antibiotics, can't go see a doctor due to quarantine. When the pain will pass, I will try my best doing a fine review for them. For headphone listening, DX7 PRO is still more powerful and there is considerably more space inside it, just in case you'll want to do some op-amp rolling.

Ignoring the price difference would a SMSL SP200 sound better than the Topping A50, when I say better I mean more detailed / more enjoyable sound, I know that's subjective - perhaps I'm asking which amp would you prefer to listen to ?
More detailed. Yes. More enjoyable, probably no. Both are more or less at the same level, SP200 is slightly better though, but A50 can punch harder with the P50 attached. If you need a big step-up, I recommend the A90 by topping

I have been reading on your website about op-amp rolling on the A50 and i wonder haved you tryed that and you also mention sparko SS3602 i like to try that but i wonder if it will fit in the A50 because its not a lot of space under the hood on this amplifier
