I had almost no piano experience and little by little I used this video to perform it after practicing for about 3 months. With this new knowledge I'm feeling up to tackling more piano goodness! The thumbnail says "accurate chords". That's why I clicked on it. And much to my delight, that is 100% true. I have been playing this song since 1971 when I was 10 and it was new! If you really want to learn this song - look no further. You have found a great teacher...chord based, the way Elton John plays nearly everything. I even picked up a couple of things I had missed, thank you for this. ; )

A great tutorial as usual! I'd just like to know more about the part where you give the chords more rhythm and melody, since when I try to do that seems like I'm just hitting random keys and I guess there should be something to improvise those rhythms, are there any videos explaining this?

Hi I have never played piano in my life, 0 experience. Am a singer/songwriter/guitarist thinking about getting my first midi keyboard, is this too hard to start off with? I'm not interested in learning "scales" etc and all that proper stuff, like reading music.... just wanna learn songs :)) are chords all I really need?
This isn’t suitable for beginners. I recommend that you absolutely learn scales, then it will help you understand chords better 👍🏻

@@RobBob555 That would be useful to know if I had taught that in the tutorial. Genuine constructive feedback is useful to ANY creator, particularly educational content. I want to create tutorials that are genuinely useful to people, and so if someone tells me they had success with it, that tells me must be doing something right.
@@RobBob555 I'm really not sure what your issue is. He never proclaimed that he was Beethoven and he didn't know it. He was LITERALLY just giving ME feedback on the effectiveness of my tutorial and how it helped him. Which MANY other people comment similar comments on my videos as well as other channels. It's called positive feedback. You don't need to get so offended by it. Maybe applaud people for their achievements instead of dragging them down.

Great tutorial. Can you do one for Song for Guy sometime, please? I've yet to find a score for it that sounds anything like the way Elton plays it. I have learned to play it, but an 'easy' version. I have tried adding some extra notes to the chords, but it still doesn't sound right.

Thanks very much very good video, only criutique i have is that it is a bit hard to see what keeys you play, so something like a orange/blue colour on the keys that you play so it's a little easuer to follow along. Otherwise very good video!

I'm afraid that would require me to spend a hell of a lot of extra editing time. I do put which notes I'm playing on the top screen, so write them down. Please remember my tutorials are free. Extra time editing means less content I'd be able to put out. My newer tutorials from the past year or so are much clearer. Thanks.

I’ve been working on this for the last couple days. I’m confused about the end of the first verse. You say play it through twice and I do, but when you sing the part, “this is my song and, this one’s for you”, it doesn’t match up with the sound of the piano like it does when you sing, “I’d buy a big house where, we both could live”. Can you please give me some insight on this? I want to master this! Once it goes into the chorus and you sing “and you can tell everybody….”, it matches up with the chords. It’s just doesn’t sound right during the “this is my song and, this one’s for you”

On the chord C Minor on tuition you say to play 6 beats when you play in full you only do 4 beats on C minor 2 beats with a C and 2 beats with a B flat. Confusing.
I have not contradicted myself. You play the C minor chord 6 times in total; 4 times with a C in the bass, and then another 2 times with a Bb in the bass (it says on the screen it's a Cm/Bb chord...) 6:00
