Ford hit a home run with this pickup this is a good price and we get and actual mini truck back now and I can already see it as a fleet work truck
Agreed man it’s an unbelievable value for someone who needs a truck but can’t take up a lot of space and doesn’t need to tow. Pretty quick too!

Thanks for the comment! The ride height is about the same however the edge feels slightly larger and heavier to drive since it’s almost 3 inches wider. The maverick is 10 inches longer tho but they are very reasonably comparable to drive

That is a safety feature with the hood latch release. VW has been doing that for years.
I can't wait to see what kind of power the Hybrid powertrain can provide. I know the 2.0 Eco boost is more peppy and sporty, but hoping to save some money with the Hybrid engine. Thanks for the review!

I'm the only one going to drive mine. I couldn't see buying all of the electronics in the seat. Once I put it where I want it then that's where it will be for as long as I own the truck.
100% agreed. Putting power seats or fancy alloy rims on the XL trim would just raise the base price about $2-3k and completely defeat its purpose. I’d spec this truck exactly like this one here, just with a Bed liner add on. Appreciate the comment!

How did he get it 6 second to 60. I thought the best reported so far was low 7s?
Car and driver tested the bronco sport with the 2.0t AWD at 5.9 seconds and it’s almost 100lbs heavier than the maverick. I’m sure it’s not a consistent time but it’s doable.
@@WTFCRLT1 I would question final drive ratios with can make a slight difference in times but this is the 1st place when I've heard of that number. Side note it doesn't really matter as ill never watch another one of your reviews, I'll ask my 15 year old.
@@jayrichards3672 mr.boom did 6.5 and imgonein60 did 6.3 some written outlets have reported times in the mid 6s too.

Does this have skid plates even tho it doesn’t have FX4 package
I believe all Mavericks have a skid plate for the oil pan (could be wrong) but you need to go for the FX4 in order to get skid plates for the diff, transfer case and fuel tank.
Does the base xl model come with a spray in bed liner??? I have yet to see an XL with one

This seems alright. I’m still very surprised that manufacturers are using a key ignition. Even on a base model? My bigger question is who does Ford believe would purchase this over a Ranger? I’m not sure what their target is? Nice review as always Will!
That was my biggest surprise as well haha I spent a solid 30 seconds looking for the start stop button when I first got inside. As far as the ranger, 4x4 and a crew cab will run you about $32k so you really are saving about $7k compared to that truck while still getting a similar payload. I’d say anyone who doesn’t like driving trucks but deep down knows that they could really use one for reasons other than towing (even though 4k isn’t too bad). I personally have friends and family that like fishing, hunting, biking, etc but they live in the City so trucks aren’t very practical. Kinda reminds me of the old Subaru Baja’s. I guess we’ll see how it sells! Thanks for the comment!

I tried to hear the engine on the test drive….but there was somebody talking non-stop at every acceleration. It’s a truck review. Don’t you think we want to hear the engine? Sorry, nice review. Maybe next review we car hear the engine. Ugh.
