I'm still waiting for my Maverick order after 15 months, but I am hoping to get it within the next month and a half. My order is a Ford Maverick Hybrid XLT with lux pkg in Area 51. I am planning on getting the spray in bed liner done and I will be using it mostly for commuting. I'll be driving over an hour each way to work with it. I also plan to drive it across the country to visit family and old friends.
That Area 51 color is pretty cool 👍 15 month is a looonng time.. congrats on waiting it out! Well, due to how you plan on using it, I believe you won’t have any major regrets. After you get it and put some miles on it, let me know how it holds up. Best, Mike
Mine was ordered with the SIBL, but for some reason the factory put a DIBL. Whether it was a mistake or they just decided to do it to move it along in production, not sure. The DIBL is pretty good quality and I could always decide to remove it and have a SIBL done if I so choose. I have an XLT 2.0L ecoboost AWD in Area 51. Gotten quite a few compliments on the color. I have yet to see a Cyber orange Maverick in person. Seems to be the rarest color besides Rapid red on the first editions only. Nicer in person (I saw it on a Ranger on the dealer lot) Than in pictures, especially at certain angles in the bright light where you can see the metallic paint.
i am also from Syracuse NY. It took me 8 months to get my Maverick. I loaded it up with everything except the moon roof. Lariat model 2.0 gas engine. Black in color with all the extras. Spray in bed liner (I love this ) T- cover that keeps things dry. I am getting 34 on the highway and no worse than 25 in the city. Put in a GREEN filter and get better mileage with that change. Wired a 12 volt plug for the back bed .I have a Coleman 12 volt cooler that sits in the bed..I also have the tail gate shock that I really like. (keeps the gate from drooping hard and fast. It has the 4K towing package for my boat and a small tow behind trailer . (works great so far) I have only seen 3 other Mavericks on the road here in Syracuse. (Camillus area) So far.... so good. No problems and I am enjoying the hell out of a great product. I drive to Clayton NY on a regular basis, and the trip is a pleasure. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR NEW MAVERICK!!! I am 70 years of age and have gone from a 1970's HIPPY to a 2022 HIPPY - REPLACEMENTMENT person. LOL !! So I will be hobbled for about 6 weeks or so. I will be home recouperating and the Maverick will be in the garage. Since I last spoke to you , I have installed 2 Stedda sway bars and the handleing is much better. This is an upgrade that I would HIGHLY recomend to any Maverick owner.I still do not see very many Mavericks over here on the west end of Syracuse. Shadow BLACK is hard to keep clean, but looks amaizing when it is dirt free. Would love to get together and talk Maverick !! Let me know when you are in town. Also I will miss J. He's back! And hearing you say you're possibly gonna sell the Maverick brings a tear to my eye. Hahah. Radio issues are weird man. Mine froze up once since I've owned it and thats it. The only thing about the stereo I notice every now and then is some popping, which is weird. Agree that the pros outweigh the cons. Nice little truck that gets all sorts of job done. Loving my maverick too, tho I stuck with the it for the year wait to get a hybrid. About the bed - I used my FordPass points to by a bed mat and that would at least protect the floor of the bed. And if you paid out of pocket it’s only $140. Hope you keep us up to date regardless of whether you keep the Mav!
I was thinking of getting something like that, affordable but gets the job done. Going back I probably should have at least done that, before I moved. Once I’m on a roll, I don’t stop haha You know how moving can be.. hectic! That’s not a bad idea tho, to get some sort of pad/mat even now, whether it sells for the price I am asking or not.
Great video update! It’s reassuring to know yours is holding up well; I own a Lariat FX4 with the 4k since may of this last year. It’s been the best vehicle I’ve owned as well. We just got some snow here in TN and I was tickled to get to use the awd, it did awesome. I understand your considering selling since moving to the city but hate to hear that you may part ways with it. Hope you’ll consider uploading some content from the city. I had some great pizza at Grimaldis under the Brooklyn Bridge back in 2016, awesome city.

I’m trying to get used to the weather down here, compared to central NY where this is WAAYY more snow haha A part of me misses the snow. That’s cool! Yes, I do plan on making random videos of New York City adventures. It will certainly be interesting, but if I do sell the maverick for a good price, I will miss it.
Just got my '22 Maverick XLT AWD with 20,000 miles this weekend, Cactus Grey and pretty much loaded with options. I've only driven it about 40 miles but I must say I really love it!! The Cactus Grey paint is awesome, it drives great, very comfortable and I think the styling is very nice too. It's perfect for those of us who don't really need a "truck".

Great video once again. I too have a maverick. 22 XLT AWD 4K tow package in Velocity Blue. I’ve had little to no issue with mine. Moreso a gripe that the 2.0 on it is a noisy motor vs the same motor in a bronco sport which my brother has. His sounds sporty and on the maverick it sounds like an old WWI aircraft haha. Especially when it’s cold. But besides that and of course the touch screen issues you’ve said I’ve had no issues with it

I bought the drop-in bed liner which will take a couple of hours to install once I finally get my hands on it.

1000K on my Maverick XLT. I was looking for a used with 25K or less. I ended up with a new one that was cheaper than a used XL. Used are getting premium prices, since there is no wait.

I have a velocity blue 22 ford maverick xlt hybrid after waiting 14 months I finally got it 10-15-22 I absolutely LOVE it awesome mpg but my touch screen is kinda junk my back up camera has frozen up 2 times and the radio shuts off like about 10 times or more other then that 👍thanks and good luck

Thank you and yes! One of my biggest regrets was not putting on a trip tracker from the moment I got the truck. Tacomas are amazing! Almost got a used one before the maverick. On my road trip from NY - CA and back, I ended up getting just shy of 33 MPG.

Oh wow!! That’s wild he lost the transmission.. INSANE!! I actually sold mine.. I now work in the city so my new methods of transportation are the train and subway lol I miss the Maverick a lot!
Yes it is! And yes, I do! I did a truck camping video back in February of last year. Also, my first maverick video back on January 8th of last year, I stretched out in the bed. I’m 5’6 and there is still a bit of room left. Not much, but some. If you’re 5’8 or shorter you should be fine!
I’m a young buck and would like to purchase this type of car, I got a new job so I could buy this one day. I like the review, I’ve never ridden a truck. I wanted to know would this be a good fit for me? Any tips?
My apologies for the delayed response. I would say if you don’t need your “typical truck”, but want the feel of a compact truck that can park in small areas, maneuver around bends really well, and gets solid gas mileage, I would recommend the Maverick 100% Hope this helps, but let me know if you have any more questions. - Mike

Just watched another Maverick review where the owner had an issue with the screen that would keep resetting. Turned out to just be a loose battery cable that needed tightening. probably not the same as a screen freezing but may as well check your cables just to be sure. I haven't had any screen issues yet in the 6 months I've had my maverick. Knock on wood.

@@NYMikeandMore I am getting old, I want the safety features. I also want to get around 500 miles, I intend to disappear regularly deep into the mountains and don't want to worry about fuel. I also think as EVs sell more gas will eventually become much more expensive as that large infrastructure is supporting fewer sales.
That's not right Garry, sorry to hear. I ordered that same build June 18, 2021 and took delivery Jan 21, 2022. Back then I thought 7 months set the wait record. I show my Mav LUX hybrid alto blue on my channel with the great 360 safety features. Yes, don't compromise, 360 can save you from a wreck. And the heated seats feel like heat therapy they get hot on the highest setting. Ford's website lists CEO Farley and all the board members. Call their assistants, any one of them have the authority to put your build on next week's schedule and not have others keep cutting the line in front of you.
@@fordmaverickmaniac good info. Right now I'm looking into the dealer's paperwork and procedures to make sure they didn't screw me but so far it all looks good. My retirement is slipping a couple of years since the company needs me so I've got time.

Then he tells you to come back each day until they get to you. 360 orders are under capacity and lux has no spray-in bedliner to hold you up. That’s a cool color as well! At first, I wasn’t a fan of my cactus grey, then it grew on me. Now, whenever I look back at it sitting in the grass or in a parking lot on the way into a grocery store, I’m like “this color is pretty darn cool” haha
My apologies for the delayed response. I actually canceled my pre ordered hybrid, and ended up calling local dealerships to see if they had any unspoken for. I was blessed to get a call back and a local dealership had this cactus great XL still available. If I ended up waiting for my original pre ordered hybrid, it would have taken over 15 months to be ready for delivery..
Nice truck but they're overpriced now. Saw one today XLT for 38K AWD. No way I would pay that. This is supposed to be an affordable cheap truck. Far from it now.
Order a 2024MY this fall from a dealer that charges msrp they are out there. I would order one of each since you get 2 trucks for the price of one Tundra. Use the hybrid for city mpg. Use the AWD or Tremor for road trips and more capability - the hwy mpg is not much different. A trailer or a high rack gets you a bigger "bed" for hauling.
Great question! I tracked the mpg on the road trip out west and back (spring of 2022) Got just under 33MPG. Wish I kept tracking it to date.. that’s probably one of my biggest regrets.
200 miles on my 2023 Maverick xlt hybrid. Nothing to complain about. So far, i am consistently getting 47 mph. I can never live in a city like NY btw, i don't care what opportunity there is. I like wide open spaces. Trees , ocean, rivers , the mountains, etc etc. You got central park, to some, that's enough.
47mph wow!! Haha yeah I never thought I would even consider living there.. I really don’t want to sell the Maverick if I don’t have to. Central Park is great, but also a bit too crowded. Might keep the truck so I can get out of the city on some weekends and drive up to the mountains.

To fix the screen freezing, firmware updates and then connect to a wifi source then download updates. Then you need to check this every couple months

I have a fully loaded XLT FX4 4k tow sun roof etc. with 20,000 miles on it and I love it! I was thinking on trading it in for the new Tacoma but I think I'll keep the maverick.

I have a velocity blue 22 ford maverick xlt hybrid after waiting 14 months I finally got it 10-15-22 I absolutely LOVE it awesome mpg but my touch screen is kinda junk my back up camera has frozen up 2 times and the radio shuts off like about 10 times or more other then that 👍thanks and good luck

Great video well done what would have been nice is what your gas milage was. I'm thinking of buying one. I have a Toyota Tocuma great truck but the gas mage is not so good. I thinking of buying a ford Eco boat Maverick because gas milage i wonder what you got when yo where just riving it on a long trip?
Thank you and yes! One of my biggest regrets was not putting on a trip tracker from the moment I got the truck. Tacomas are amazing! Almost got a used one before the maverick. On my road trip from NY - CA and back, I ended up getting just shy of 33 MPG.

Oh wow!! That’s wild he lost the transmission.. INSANE!! I actually sold mine.. I now work in the city so my new methods of transportation are the train and subway lol I miss the Maverick a lot!

Yes it is! And yes, I do! I did a truck camping video back in February of last year. Also, my first maverick video back on January 8th of last year, I stretched out in the bed. I’m 5’6 and there is still a bit of room left. Not much, but some. If you’re 5’8 or shorter you should be fine!

Manual rear window on base XL requires co pilot 360. No idea why but it does. So added dollars.

I’m a young buck and would like to purchase this type of car, I got a new job so I could buy this one day. I like the review, I’ve never ridden a truck. I wanted to know would this be a good fit for me? Any tips?
My apologies for the delayed response. I would say if you don’t need your “typical truck”, but want the feel of a compact truck that can park in small areas, maneuver around bends really well, and gets solid gas mileage, I would recommend the Maverick 100% Hope this helps, but let me know if you have any more questions. - Mike

I have 2022 Maverick XL same color as yours. Do have the 4K tow package and copilot 360.
Didn’t end up getting the 4k, just the co-pilot 360. That cactus grey color!! In my opinion it’s the best color haha

Just watched another Maverick review where the owner had an issue with the screen that would keep resetting. Turned out to just be a loose battery cable that needed tightening. probably not the same as a screen freezing but may as well check your cables just to be sure. I haven't had any screen issues yet in the 6 months I've had my maverick. Knock on wood.

@@NYMikeandMore I am getting old, I want the safety features. I also want to get around 500 miles, I intend to disappear regularly deep into the mountains and don't want to worry about fuel. I also think as EVs sell more gas will eventually become much more expensive as that large infrastructure is supporting fewer sales.
That's not right Garry, sorry to hear. I ordered that same build June 18, 2021 and took delivery Jan 21, 2022. Back then I thought 7 months set the wait record.
I show my Mav LUX hybrid alto blue on my channel with the great 360 safety features. Yes, don't compromise, 360 can save you from a wreck. And the heated seats feel like heat therapy they get hot on the highest setting.
Ford's website lists CEO Farley and all the board members. Call their assistants, any one of them have the authority to put your build on next week's schedule and not have others keep cutting the line in front of you.
@@fordmaverickmaniac good info. Right now I'm looking into the dealer's paperwork and procedures to make sure they didn't screw me but so far it all looks good. My retirement is slipping a couple of years since the company needs me so I've got time.
@Garry Collins You may have time but what you are going through is like waiting in line at the grocery store but the manager keeps letting others cut in front, over and over all day long. Then he tells you to come back each day until they get to you.
360 orders are under capacity and lux has no spray-in bedliner to hold you up. There is no excuse for you waiting so long Farley should be ashamed.

I have the exact twin brother of your Maverick for last 8 months. A very good vehicle that averages 36 mpg if I stay off the turbo.

That’s a cool color as well! At first, I wasn’t a fan of my cactus grey, then it grew on me. Now, whenever I look back at it sitting in the grass or in a parking lot on the way into a grocery store, I’m like “this color is pretty darn cool” haha

My apologies for the delayed response. I actually canceled my pre ordered hybrid, and ended up calling local dealerships to see if they had any unspoken for. I was blessed to get a call back and a local dealership had this cactus great XL still available. If I ended up waiting for my original pre ordered hybrid, it would have taken over 15 months to be ready for delivery..

Nice truck but they're overpriced now. Saw one today XLT for 38K AWD. No way I would pay that. This is supposed to be an affordable cheap truck. Far from it now.

Order a 2024MY this fall from a dealer that charges msrp they are out there. I would order one of each since you get 2 trucks for the price of one Tundra. Use the hybrid for city mpg. Use the AWD or Tremor for road trips and more capability - the hwy mpg is not much different.
A trailer or a high rack gets you a bigger "bed" for hauling.
What was the mpg overall to date?
Great question! I tracked the mpg on the road trip out west and back (spring of 2022) Got just under 33MPG. Wish I kept tracking it to date.. that’s probably one of my biggest regrets.
Slap it on a frame make it rear wheel drive and give it a stick and inline 6 and I'll buy one.

200 miles on my 2023 Maverick xlt hybrid. Nothing to complain about. So far, i am consistently getting 47 mph.
I can never live in a city like NY btw, i don't care what opportunity there is. I like wide open spaces. Trees , ocean, rivers , the mountains, etc etc. You got central park, to some, that's enough.
47mph wow!! Haha yeah I never thought I would even consider living there.. I really don’t want to sell the Maverick if I don’t have to. Central Park is great, but also a bit too crowded. Might keep the truck so I can get out of the city on some weekends and drive up to the mountains.
