      Buck creek and your boat was a riveted boat correct? How well has that worked out for you have you had any problems with leaking?

    • @BuckcreekTV
      @BuckcreekTV  6 років тому +1

      It is riveted and the only problem I have had with leaks is when I first bought it the built in live well was not installed correctly. I epoxied it inside the live well and on the bottom of the boat. Besides that I've had no issues and I run this boat pretty hard. Owned for about 2 years.

      +Greg Bowlan I’m glad I could. This is a awesome boat for the money. The only way to get something better is by going with an all weld .

      Buck creek Gotcha, I'm going to move to Louisiana and wanting something for bayous, rivers and smaller lakes. What's your view on V-hull compared to flat bottom?

    • @BuckcreekTV
      @BuckcreekTV  6 років тому +2

      +Greg Bowlan Id go with a wide flat bottom. They provide good stability and a shallow draft which help to get to more places. Also consider a short shaft engine

    You should make the deck bigger

    • @BuckcreekTV
      @BuckcreekTV  6 років тому

      I thought about it , but it would put to much weight on the front and it can really only fish one person in the front comfortably.

    looks clean bro, can I ask if the thinner aluminum has held up good? I'm looking at a grizzly 1448 with the 0.100 hull a little thicker aluminum but they are a little more pricey.

    • @BuckcreekTV
      @BuckcreekTV  3 роки тому

      The 0.050 did well for me for years. I have a grizzly 1548 now with the 0.100 hull thickness and it feels SOLID

      30mph only I'm a mercury guy but I got a deal on this motor brand new in the box for $900 less than the mercury I wanted plus mercury comes with no fuel line no gas tank and no propeller at bass pro that was the cheapest I found here in south florida so I went with Yamaha for now but I'm not impressed at all I'm going back to mercury as soon the 3 years warranty expire or maybe before ,I mean this one it is not bad but I prefer mercury they have a lot more torque and I never had a problem with mercury and I had about 9 or 10 from 8hp,9.9hp,15hp,20hp,90hp,150hp and 200hp , I had a Suzuki and don't like it either, MERCURY lol .what did u used to keep the rain from getting in to the live well I want to used for dry storage .

      Its funny this is a 1542 and says can fit 3. I have had 3 in a 12 foot jon in local waters. That 1542 would easily fit 4 if they are not huge folks. I say 4 average people would not be a problem if you kept gear , low . my opinion

    i just bought the same rig from bps. did you just mount the seat bases using sheet metal screws or do you have a piece of plywood bolted down first. that sheet metal is thin.

    • @BuckcreekTV

      Straight sheet metal screws it bends a bit but holds pretty well.

    • @BuckcreekTV
      @BuckcreekTV  6 років тому

      It is

    • @cthreeadkins6296
      @cthreeadkins6296 5 років тому

      It is actually a "wet well". Just a plug at the bottem. When your sitting still water flows in. When your cruising on plane water flows out. When you stop it comes back in. It is about a 5 gallon tank but only fills about 2 gallons of water in order to hold small panfish or live bait. However i have had small bass in mine for short periods of time with a battery powered aerator. Even had a 7.14 lbr in there once.

    • @BuckcreekTV
      @BuckcreekTV  7 років тому +1

      +William Fischer I went ahead and put the seat where I wanted it, then I used a marker to see where I wanted to drill, drilled the holes about halfway, put the seat on and then tricky part, trying to screw them in while under the seat, it is tricky but doable

    Question for anyone to answer....when trailering a Jon boat like this one is it good to leave the motor down or tilt it all the way up? I have been doing mine with it all the way up but just thought of how that could effect the transom.. any opinions ?

    • @BuckcreekTV
      @BuckcreekTV  5 років тому +2

      I used to transport mine down but now I use a transom saver which I think relieves a lot of stress

    • @BuckcreekTV

    Nice rig. I used angle aluminium and a trimmed 2x4 to mount my trolling motor. Check out my video and you should see it. Worked great and extremely tough, especially if you hit something under water with the trolling motor.
