Thanks!
I'm also obsessed with water ,everything from puddles to ponds ,lakes ,pools waterfalls etcetcetc I love these videos ♥️
Thanks for the video!👍
I will share my opinion of an experienced pond builder. When I build ponds, I remove the fabric filter from the drain pipe. Over time, the fabric will pass less water and this will reduce the flow of water through the gravel (biofilter) and reduce the efficiency of the biofilter. But it may not happen for you. Good luck!
Thank you for the tip!!
This is going to be amazing. It’s crazy how hot that liner gets in the sun.
Wild right? Thanks for the note!
Waiting for the next!
Working on editing the next video. Stay tuned !
Like 40! Looks good so far! Animal Papa! 😎👍🙏
Thanks!
You’re doing a great job. I would really appreciate more details such as where did you get the liner what brand is it? Where did you source all of those plastic pallets? Etc. etc. etc. please keep posting we can’t wait to see how it turns out
Thanks! Firestone EPDM Liner. Will be posting more videos. Stay tuned.
Great work, congratulations!
Thx! More to come!
Love the dirt art digging. Fun watching. How many gallons? It is a whopper. Our traditional backyard pool 22,000 gallons this is huge.
Thanks! This is somewhere between 30-35,000 gallons.
Ok right at 4:58 I think I foresee rocks around the edges where you are putting flex black pipe? 6" pipe?
Yes, perf pipe goes below the rocks. That’s what draws the water through the rocks to filter the water. This system does around 300 gallons per minute in circulation.
Curious how you anchored the pallets to the sand bags.
They just sit on the sand bags. The crushed rock ultimately locks them in being that it is up against the pallets.
How did you determine how much liner you needed? I’m doing measurements and I can’t quite figure out the size I need.
Hi Greg,
That’s probably worth a clip on its own. Simply put it = width + (depth x 2) + 2’ for the edges. Keep in mind the liner only comes in 50’ widths so I would avoid going wider than that so you don’t have to have a seam. If you want I can help if you give me the dimensions.
Looking good IE neighbor! Just wondering why you used the pallet wall since you staggered the drop to each level. Is it necessary?
Hindsight being what it is I would have used a block wall approach, but either way you need something to hold the rock back from sloughing off into the swimming area. Hopefully that answers your question.
❤❤
Thanks!
A whole semi roll of liner?
It was a lot!
Who makes this liner? I wanna do this!
Nice! Firestone is the manufacturer. It’s call PondGuard. Keep me posted!
Did you wind up deciding to move forward?
This can't end up good ...
Haha, we had our reservations as well. So far so good.
