They just leech of the government and society and complain they aren't getting more. Total envy & theft mentality justified through a pose of self-victimization. That is what the socialist wing of our Democrat party encourages. Obama repealed the work requirements for long-term welfare. Welfare makes people bitter & incompetent.

      He’s done most of the labor himself, I’m sure it would have cost double had he not had access to the construction trucks/machines. He could make it back by leasing it out a couple of weekends a year for big parties. A pond with no snakes is one I’d actually swim in!

      For any one wondering, a slightly smaller liner 60'x80'+- can be bought and delivered for about $3,000. You can rent machinery that digs 10' deep with a bucket for about $1,000 per week in most areas www.sunbeltrentals.com/equipment/detail/896/0530150/4wd-mid-size-backhoe-10ftdig-depth/
      Stone to hold the liner down is the unknown to me but assuming that you want 6" deep of 4" plus round stone for 200 linear feet you would need about 40 yards. My area, that is about $70/yard so round up to $3,000.
      $3,000 liner, $3,000 stone, $1,000/week equipment for 2 weeks=$2,000. Total is $8,000. Add in incidentals such as cleaning chemicals/supplies, pumps, additional paid help, foods and drinks for helpers, etc. About $10,000 USD.
      Some areas may require proper fencing to prevent drowning so that could add to the cost as well.

    • @urdnal
      @urdnal 6 років тому +105

      I was thinking that too, but I think with the tarp being polypropylene the grains of sand wouldn't get enough friction to build up. It'd slip and all of it would just roll down hill and _pool_ in the centre. Practically nothing sticks to poly polypropylene.

      Agreed! I would arrange to cover it with large flat rocks then fill the gap with small gravel. Then finally put a layer of river rock for the smoothness. Before that though I would Install a skimmer system to refresh the water and a drainage system for over flow. I'm sure the dude is on his way to do all that!

    • @nicchauvin1096

      I have a friend who does the same thing to his pond. It's a color additive bonds with the oxygen molecules in the water. It's supposed to kill off dangerous pond water, making it sterile and safe to swim in. It turns the water the color of blue raspberry jello while it's active. Once the solution is inactive, the water starts to turn back clear.
