Just bought dLive and SuperRack during Covid for our church Broadcast setup. Your videos Drew are helping me explore the possibilities and power of these two systems. We literally are getting virtual soundcheck going this week so it’s perfect timing. I really appreciate your excellent tutorials.
At the current rate, its a 5.6% response rate. If it were a horrible and offensive video, there would be no more than a 15% response rate. This is just the machinations of human nature. Less than 10% of people give enough of a flying booger, to share or care.
A Sum Of Two Busses yup when covid happened and we switched to mainly broadcast it was a Everyman for himself learning experience! I’ve been doing it with Dante and the non sound grid superrack. I do have the waves card now so time to play!
Hey Drew! Are you programming a soft key or something that translates the midi protocol via each scene? And when the scene changes that info gets sent to recall the snapshot? Curious, because when I follow along my scene change isn't sending MIDI or a program change to Waves. However, when I drop a MIDI fader onto my dLive, and move a fader, I can see that MIDI being sent to Waves. My troubleshooting brain is thinking I have to dive into the TC/IP MIDI pdf and program a bit to make this work.
Thanks for the video! Unfortunately, I can’t get Waves Snapshots to be triggered by the dLive Scene changes, to go with that scene. I can assign the go button to the next Snapshot in waves, but just not directly to the scene. Anything I could be doing wrong? Also, I see in the dLive MIDI DAW Control software that there isn’t a way to assign to it to a MIDI Channel like in the past.
Hi Drew, thanks for your videos. It's very interesting what you show. I have another question, can Allen&Heath control SuperRack? That in SuperRack the Channel is displayed which was selected on the console? Thanks
Hey there, I have a problem setting up Logic Pro with my Allen & Heath SQ6 for online, and there aren't any videos on youtube on how to correctly do it. Please could do a video on this or direct me to help, thank you!
@@asumoftwobusses6304 appreciate the response! Running into a hangup getting scene control to work. Midi learning is working great for softkeys, but the actual scene control doesn't seem to work even with the correct hex offset.
Nice job, used this to guide me on setting up my Avantis with SuperRack. NOTE: The Belkin USB-C to Ethernet dongle does not work with MacBook Pro 16, I had to get the OWC Thunderbolt 3 10G Ethernet Adapter to get the MIDI Controller to connect to the Avantis.
This video is very helpful, but still having trouble on my setup. I have a c3500 console with a waves 3 card installed in it. When I go to I/O Virtual Soundcheck and attempt to select console port 4 it has a red x next to it. I can see the card and server in Superrack. Any suggestions?
Have you run into any issues bridging TCP/IP control traffic and SoundGrid traffic on the same physical network? When I evaluated a small SoundGrid system (Impact Server and DiGiGrid D) for my studio I used a separate Ethernet interface on my Mac Pro specifically for SoundGrid along with a separate VLAN on my Ethernet switch. As Waves says: "SoundGrid is a ‘private’ network: in order to have a clean network stream, the SoundGrid network should not be used to run any non-SoundGrid applications. Using non-SoundGrid protocols on the same network that carries SoundGrid audio might result in audio drops, application freezes, and other unexpected results."
Is the setup the same on the SQ series or Avantis? Our church is looking to upgrade systems, but the dlive may be out of our price range at the moment.
Good Lord, I think I need to take a beginners class on this. You sound good and the data is easy to follow, but there are some parts I am missing due to my newness to it all. Do you recommend any place I can get some basics on this under my belt?
You know. I LOVE when people do tutorials on YT and it work. But when we follow the steps exactly (correct connections, correct IPs, correct settings in SuperRack, accounted for scene offset etc) it just doesn’t work 😅. Drew. Could you please do a troubleshooting video with some issues and fixes you have found when working with waves scene changes from the console?
Thanks for the answer, when I got my super rack the waves dude helped me over the phone, I got A for live and he told me to switch to B for playback. It worked but somehow my trim gets bypass on playback so my gain structure gets effup. I’ll try the 1-64 and 65-128 approach and see if that fix my not trim on playback. Thanks again!
Hi Drew! Love your work and this channel. I know you're not Waves or DLive support, but maybe you can help me. Since i changed to Apple M1 and Waves SuperRack V13, the MidiControl doesn't seem to work anymore. When recalling a DLive scene, the little MIDI light in SuperRack still flashes, but the SPRK scenes are not following. Any changes that happened because of these updates? I didn't changed anything and it worked before. Thank you so much Adam #adamngoodsound
man this video is the best damn tutorial on how to hook up a digital mixer to a single computer I mean you give off all the caveats on everything I appreciate that I appreciate you for this video man peace....🎚️🎚️🎚️💪🏾
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!! worked step by step with my Avantis
Absolute legend! Came back to this & it solved my problems. Thanks Drew!
As a dLive user this video is brilliant. There isn’t anything online like this. 10/10 for a great video.

I absolutely love it, you're the best! It helped a lot :)
Thanks for this video. I’m a long time dLive user who is moving into the waves world in the near future.
Thank you so much!! I’m using an Avantis but this translates perfectly!!
Thank you very much for this helpful contribution! that made routing a lot easier for me!
Can't believe that from 722 views "only" 66 people liked this... common!
Thanks a lot for sharing dude!

Will this approach with midi control still work if the card is inserted in the surface instead of the mix rack?
Yep!

has anyone been able to assign a tap temp button from the dlive to control tap tempo in waves super rack?

I want to do this without the servers and switch. Is that posssible

On your inserts for the waves inserts what level are you running ? Analog digital or -10

My fly rig I do, but for my main rig I have designated computers for both

My avantis won’t connect. Ugh!
When you do the playback from the DAW back to the Dlive do you switch the A to B option on the súper rack?
Melissa Riner I don’t! If you route it correctly you won’t have to! I would suggest dedicating io for inserts and io for playback
