Y&T is one of the best bands that hit the 80's! Lipstick and Leather,Mean streak, Dont stop running,This time. Unreal fucking songs...One of my fave bands!Y & T ROCKS!
Contagious; THE MOST UNDERRATED ALBUM FOR ITS ERA I have ever heard!! I still listen to it regularly……incredible everything including of course Jimmy DeGrasso!
Contagious....I was a fan well before....I Introduced Y&T to alot of my friends. If they wanted a ride in my car, had to listen. Still a fan. Saw them finally in 16...., best $20 I ever spent.
@@michaeljones9301 yes, for sure! My older brother turned me on to them in ‘82 and THAT SOUND! Got to see them dozens of times and even travel with some of them, what a band. Lol I did the same thing after leaving Northern California to Memphis, turned a lot of folks on to them….
One of the most underrated song writer / guitarist / vocalists in the hard rock / metal universe . Early Y&T is absolute gold and light years ahead of the rest . Stoked to hear Dave is in good health and he's beaten his prostate cancer . Fantastic interview BTW ..... keep on hangin' em high 🐍🤘
Y&T is a helluva lot more than Black Tiger, Mean Streak and “Summertime Girls”. Their catalogue is deep and all of it is first rate. Check out “Ten”, the two independent records in the 90’s, “Endangered Species” and “Musically Incorrect”….THEN 2010’s “Facemelter”, which kicks holy ass!! Dave’s solo stuff is terrific, too!
The first album is still my favorite! Bought it in 1977 when a guitarist friend of mine recommended it. Super raw with amazing high energy! "Earthshaker " and "Fast Ladies(Very Sloe Gin)"..
One of the Greatest Hard Rock Bands in the world, their first album released in 1976 is my favorite, a huge inspiration for me as a Drummer for sure, Leonard Haze RIP was a bad ass.
Love this band started doing a relisten to all their albums again almost done with Contagious. All great albums. Funny tho Dave says the exact same thing Paul Stanley says. "I could write another Let It Be but someone will say hey play Love Gun" and Dave says the same thing. I love new music tho can't wait to listen to Facemelter. Come more east Dave. Would love to see you guys again.
Saw Y&T on that Crue tour in 84 or 85. They were great. Thought, "Who are these guys??" Summer Time Girls was a huge hit live and I remember thinking they would be a big band. The harmonies they had were great and Dave was a killer guitarist. Left half way thru Motley. Yeah, Y&T was awesome. Of course A&M dropped the ball...They and MCA in L.A. were such garbage labels for metal in the 80s.

Meanstreak……INCREDIBLE ALBUM!! The mix is phenomenal!
Thank you for giving me great music to grow up to🙏
Y&T was one of my favorite bands while growing up in the 80s! They're just good solid ROCK! ❤
Forever RIP Phil, Leonard and Joey…….tons of great memories in the band I always wished I was in!
Been listening to "Black Tiger" and "Mean Streak" in my work truck for the last week or so, sounds better than ever to me! Keep on Rockin Dave👍✌️❤️🤘
Mean Streak was my first experience with Y&T and it’s been a great journey since. 18:22

100% agree, Contagious is great, should've been huge, should've sold millions.
@@thedesertdweller compared to the absolute dogshit that did so well at the time…..lol FUCKING CRIMINAL!

@@MetalExpressRadio That's it .. thankyou ? You can do better than that .
I think their latter stuff is absolutely stunning, as well. It seems to get lost in the wash of their earlier stuff.
Dave is a MONSTER!
Great interview. Dave Meniketti is probably the most underrated guitarist of his time. I wish he would have talked some about the other band members.

Shout out from the 33 alumni. Huge all-time fan. God bless Leonard Haze...and Phil. I'll never forget you Dave. Go see em... still killing it
And Joey...
@@youthecat Joey was cool

Word!
Fastest right foot EVER. He could do things with a single kick drum that some drummers couldn't with two!
This is not a "Rockumentary"
It's just an interview.
Loved Black Tiger and Mean Streachh 😅
Sorry if we disappointed you! What does it take to be a rockumentary for you?

"FACE MELTER"🤘
I still have Struck Down original cd. Amazing band and I learned fast bass drum technique via listening John Bonham and Lenard Haze. I had a 28" kick.
I picked up some eggs and bread from the Y&T on the way home today
I always wondered why they let go of Leonard Haze
