Underrated commercially, but certainly NOT underrated among his musical peers. Frampton, Leslie West, Ozzy, Whitesnake etc etc have touted his BRILLIANCE...
I saw Y&T last month in Monterey.....damn...he's still got IT and his band is AMAZING! .....come back soon Dave! .....I'll be there for sure!!!!....long time fan here...!!!!!
Dave is such a true man you can learn alot by him thanks Dave for all the years you have gave us you guys have always been there with me many miles and years love you sir
Great !! Fan since '76 ST. Covered their tunes in a band. Saw them at Winterland and The Old Waldorf when they were 'between' contracts. Dave's so humble. Earthshaker was amazing, vocally and everything. How he could play a screaming lead then drop into the lead vocal,,,i have no idea.
Keep up the good work with your video's/blog etc. Enjoying your interviews with some top class bands. Dave comes across as a really nice bloke. What a line up on this particular day at rock and blues. Good luck with your career.
Came here after listening to Facemelter in the car. Dave is the man saw Y&T in Newcastle UK in the early 80's been a fan ever since. I'm hoping to see them again if they ever come to canada where I live now it's been too long since the last time. Greatest band ever
From when I first heard them (as Yesterday & Today, at the time) play high school and college shows in Fremont, CA (once w/ the sensational first all-female rock band The Runaways as an opening act ) until today--Y&T is one of the greatest and most underrated rock bands of all time. And Dave's melodic voice rates up there with the best of the best in Rock ‘N Roll. Thank you, Dave for your awesomeness and keep on Rock’n’’ forevermore! I can’t wait to see you guys again!
Y&T's original lineup was truly amazing. To Dave's point, Phil and Leonard sang and added so much through "their songs" ("Squeeze" and "Alcohol" respectively), and onstage antics. But Leonard Haze was in another universe with his drumming, what he did for the band was kick it up three notches when you thought everything was at the limit. Check out "C'mon Over" to get an idea of what I'm referring to. Thanks Dave for still carrying the torch!
Remember those days well. The Stone on Broadway, Keystone Palo Alto/Berkeley, Old Waldorf, The Country Club(Reseda), The Palace in Hollywood, Italian Hall in San Jose and the Y&T rehearsal space in Hayward. Resting in peace: Joey, Phil, Leonard. Also: William J Tsamis, Mark Reale, Ronnie Montrose, Pete Way, Paul Raymondetc
John Nyman is ill? :( Will there ver be a new studioalbum? Although I loved Phil Kennemore I think the last album wasnt very good, apart for a few tracks. I really loe the albums they did with John Nyman : Musically Incorrect and Endangered Species.
Jon, John was ill, because he only had vertigo. As they've been saying will be a new album, but they will take the necessary time to do it. And John didn't play guitars on Musically and Endangered, he just have played on the Y&T live of 2006, Facemelter and Live at the Mystic records, it was Steff Burns who played on them
If you had to pick one single "underrated" rock musician it's Dave Meniketti. And everyone who knows hard rock - even musicians - would totally agree. But it's no good advice to sing at this level when you're sick. You can really not only hurt your voice but have permanent damage.
I thought she was great. I was going to say, looked very young, but her questions were on point, she didn't stutter or look uncomfortable, and she didn't interrupt Dave, she asked a question and let him talk. Great job! And it seemed like she had done her homework and knew something about Y&T as well
Yeah, one of the biggest mistakes interviewers make is they aren't actually LISTENING to the answers of their guests and simply move onto the next question. Had they been listening, they would have seized on the opportunity to get some awesome information out of follow-up questions.
Dave Meniketti is a living legend! A duel threat on guitar and lead vocals and grossly underrated. It is almost criminal how underrated Dave is.
Underrated commercially, but certainly NOT underrated among his musical peers. Frampton, Leslie West, Ozzy, Whitesnake etc etc have touted his BRILLIANCE...
Great comment.
I'd offer Triple threat. He also wrote nearly every riff we love today.
@@glenkepic3208 For me one of the best guitarist all times.
@@johannmichael
Yep. Huge inspiration to me in '76.
Yesterday And Today's ST changed my life.
@@glenkepic3208 Me too, since a lot of many years and I listen always.....It's really timeless and Dave is the last of the Original Members....
Dave. He is just THE Man. Gracious, informative and ready to rock.
An amazing musician on stage and a down to earth man off.
Dave is one of the greatest. Does not get the recognition he deserves.
An absolute legend!!!!

Dave is a delight. True triple threat: Monster player, vocalist and writer. "Underrated" gets so overused but it fits Dave perfectly.
Dave is such a great guitarist, and a great singer as well. What a very genuine guy he is, and so underrated too.
We, your fans all love you Dave. you rock! Y&T ROCKS!!!!
Dave is such a true man you can learn alot by him thanks Dave for all the years you have gave us you guys have always been there with me many miles and years love you sir

Saw them in winterland as yesterday and today with Sabbath on their 1st tour
one of the best in the business. PERIOD!!
One of the greatest voices in Rock and Roll. Up there with Steve Perry, Ronnie James Dio and Rob Halford.
Him and Graham Bonnet are probably two of the coolest cats on Earth. I was lucky enough to meet them.
Bonnet's a great guy! Another incredible talent with the voice that could shatter glass windows.
Did Bonnet sing on Alcatrazz. With Malmsteen?
@@richardhawk5624 Yes sir. When Malmsteen left Steve Vai took over.
Dave is the MAN!!!
Huge talent and one of the most genuine guys you'll ever meet which always comes across live.
Such a great singer, songwriter and guitar player. Met him once after a show. Such a great, humble and genuine guy!
This man is a MONSTER!

I've meant him many times. He is the most humble, nicest rock star I've ever meant. IMO, no one can play lead guitar and sing like that.

Interviewed by Arya Stark
The interviewer looked like she had somewhere to be
Give over Robert - that girl was only 16 when she did that interview. We need more youngsters supporting rock and roll.
Marvin Gardens She'll be flattered Marvin - there’s no 'They'. That’s Madz own blog. She does it all herself, and has chatted with loads of musicians.

The sound of ‘From The Moon’ when they took to the stage to support ACDC at Edinburgh in ‘82. Awesome is a good word for it.
Dave, please stop calling your solo project Y and T. It is not and will never be. It is your solo project.
