The Babylonian Atra-Hasis Epic and the Book of Genesis

Dr. Isaac Kikawada discusses the Atra-Hasis ("exceedingly wise") Epic. The titular hero is the protagonist of an 18th-century BC Akkadian epic. The Atra-Hasis tablets encompass a creation myth and an account of the great flood. The myth is preserved in the Epic of Gilgamesh, and similar themes are covered in the Bible (book of Genesis).
