  • This little hull needed an overhaul and I wanted a new estuary boat to complement our fleet, so we got cracking on the refurbishment from hell. ↓↓MORE INFO BELOW↓↓
Time-consuming and a tricky process at times but it can be done. We are not professionals but have the drive to have a crack.
Episode #1 of three, stay tuned to see how we went with the whole re-build just in time for the Flathead Classic fishing competition.
Read all about this part of the refurb in the digital magazine Australian Boating Magazine. Issue #262 www.australianboatmags.com.au/...
Many thanks to all those who helped us out during the re-build, from supplies to information we were not shy of suggestions.

This is the best kind of video...extremely informative and not wasting my time by trying to be entertaining. I just removed the transom from our 23 foot cuddy and this video gives me confidence and eager anticipation going forward with my first use of fiberglass.

Yooooooo!!!!! That little tip about drilling the drainage/bung/scupper holes bigger so that your drilling though resin to stop future water ingress is legit the best thing I've heard in a long time for transom rebuilds!! 🤙🏻

I realize this was a while back.. however, the way you have shown and discussed your process, is truly appreciated.
I have been absorbing as much as I can from multiple amounts of shows, concerning exactly what you are doing!!
What a great surprise to see that what you have done is what I soon hope to be doing.
    Thanks sooooo much.

Thank you for the videos. I'm getting ready to rip the floor out of an 18 hull that I purchased cheap and am watching lots of videos on the subject. You're detailed descriptions of process as well as components and rationale for choosing your particular methods was very helpful. I hope you're enjoying your boat. Liked.

Absolutely fantastic video. Having custom built composite airplanes, I was very impressed with the detail and great videos as well as narration. Even with my vast experience, I didnt have the confidence or knowledge to tackle a boat. Now I do. I am now a big fan of Hooked on Brooke. You and your husband are over the top great

wow.. a LOT of work as I have done this before.. a boat I got ( mainly for the outboard that was on it ) was just like this.. my transom was ok, but the floor and stringers were all rotten after I cut out the floor for soft spots... made a center board, new stringers on the bottom of the hull, made bulkheads, drilled large holes through all of them, and then used expandable foam to make the thing a flotation hull... a LOT of work.. turned out nice.. most trouble was calculating exactly how much expandable foam mixture to pour in each section !!! as the hull changed volume front to back it was interesting when we got a bit too much in the rear section and a bunch of us had to get in and stand on the floor to keep it from lifting !!! oh yeah, we had holes drilled in each section / compartment of the newly layed top floor... then I glassed everything up after that... turned out great but man, what a lot of work.... its been soo many years ago I'm thinking that I used some talc and resin to make up my paste for all the joints and I set my stringer in it too to glue them in place before I glassed them in.... you guy's did a nice job on the boat...

18' Bayhawk for me. Like you I erased the interior and built what I wanted. I filled between the hull, floor and stringers with expanding polyurethane foam which made the boat incredibly stiff. I havent thought of cabosil in years. Looking great, I havent watch the rest yet so I dont know how it turned out until I get there.
