One problem with that though is if there was somebody who really didn't want to be there, they can't always switch schools, because a lot of schools are now connected where you HAVE to go to a certain school, I was in 6th grade when that happend at my elementary school and I got to go to the middle/high school I wanted, but a few years later I switched to homeschooling because I was being bullied and I have issues dealing with stress, I'm still homeschooled and I might go back to school but I'm not sure, if anybody reads this much of my comment then, wow lol😅

Um i go through burnout at least once a month where I lose motivation, it's hard to get out of bed, I am exhausted beyond belief. I get 5 hours of sleep or less every day. I pretty much live with a 24/7 stress fever because the stress is never ending. And thats just school related causes. Life happens too. I have to get a job soon. I have to learn to drive. I have to plan for the future. I have to figure out where I want to go to college. I don't have time to be 16 because I have to keep thinking about what I'll do when I'm 17, 18, 19. Stress is a daily thing for most teenagers. Why do you think our mental health is always so low? Why do you think suicide rates in teens are so high?

I've tried that. If I even had time. I barely have time to destress with all the time school and responsibilities take up. I also have adhd so I have that to manage too. I take meds but that doesn't just make it go away. I study psychology and I want to be a therapist. I know the difference between regular stress and chronic stress. Most teenagers are stuck in chronic stress because the adults don't believe our struggles and the school system is fucked up and doesn't even care about our mental health.

Well of course it works for some people. Just not for me. I've tried a lot of different things. Although luckily my partner helps me a lot. But that doesn't take away the chronic stress. Especially if you can't get rid of the thing causing it

I'm a teenager and I wouldn't say I like stress, but I do see it as essential. I think that is what they meant. Not all stress is strong, so if it remains a healthy amount, it is a great motivator. Personally, if I don't have stress about something, my goals can be much harder to achieve. For example, I just wrote an essay for online school. I only did it because I was stressed about the grade. I didn't because I wanted to or was interested in it. So, if I had absolutely no stress, I never would have turned that in on time.

@@rebel9135 well you see, there is still that mistery but you would be much happier, I literally start sweating everytime I think about school from stress, and during summer time is the only time I'm happy, and also I learn and do much better out of school, I focus on my drawings and learning about science and history without the pressure of tests.

I’m so tired of being a teenager. I thought it would be a fun and carefree period of my life but I’ve never had to take this much pressure and responsibility before. It feels like I’m just very suddenly hit by a wrecking ball of reality with no warning signs. All the expectations from family and friends, how I should dress, how my body should look, what decisions I should make about my career. I’ve never been more judged in my life than right now. And it doesn’t help that almost everyone thinks ur an angsty emotional teenage brat.
Thats not pressure its carefree Im also not angsty emotional I hate that stereotype Im not emotional at all Last time my eyes even got misty or crying was when I was 7 and a week ago my grandma died buried her believe me there is no pressure compared to my life so enjoy it while you can...

This gave me the chills omg. Being a teen myself and underage I'm dying to turn 18 because there are so many things now a days that teenagers are expected to do (like attend manifestations about important things like the climate change or the blm movement, changing this society, saving the planet, make technology evolve, etc), but at the same time I know that the moment I turn 18 I'm gonna lose all my will to do whatever I want, and somehow I'm gonna be "forced" to do what everyone expects me to do.
A lot of people say that a few decades ago children were more mature and were forced to become adults sooner than now, but I don't thing that has changed a little bit, and it scares me.
I’m 16 my recommendation is go for things that pay you a lot of money before your dreams. And you Will Have a better chance of succeeding.
As someone from the generation that had to grow up sooner than we wanted to, the above approach leads to more mental anguish than you think. Yes, you need money and success to a certain degree. But if you don't like what you do enough to do it, don't bother. To be locked in a career, job, or company you have no passion for, is committing mental suicide every day/year you spend in it. That is another reason some people snap and go on destructive sprees
this is literally the major problem i have with my dad. sometimes I just wanna be a teenager but he's always pushing me to compete with the brightest people.

I feel like us teens these days are under SO much pressure to look like a literal model. I quit social media a year ago (besides this and Pinterest) and its made me realize that I am pretty, and that I should like the way I look. It’s not fair that we see people who are sometimes even twice our age and 100% of the time photoshopped/behind a filter and compare our real selves to them. Im 15 and ive been told im very mature.
I think its because im home schooled, ive been told to research everything i see and to keep updated with current events.
I tried to talk to my friend about current events regarding north korea and she didn't even know what i was talking about.
I hope more people in my generation will research everything properly and not take everything they see for truth.
