Adoption is great. Saves unborn children being murdered (Abortion )many times when two parties are irresponsible during sex!
yes yes yes

Facts.
I am kinda disappointed that you didn't ask a question about health issues which is arguably the biggest criticism of obesity
Agree.
That's what I'm saying 🤦♀️
I was hoping for this also
literally
It’s wasn’t “do all obese people think the same” it was “do all plus size people think the same” not everyone who is considered plus size is obese. Sizes 16 in Australia is a part of plus size clothes sections and it is nowhere near being obese.
72% of people disagree that being plus size is a choice is honestly terrifying. This world is doomed.
There's a whole debate if free will is real, so there's that
I mean it technically is a choice since it comes down to the food intake. I mean eating high carbohydrates would make you feel more hungrier since it's processed down quickly making certain people crave more food than they can afford to. This is thanks to the 80s and 90s thinking that high fattning food is the root cause of being overweight and then relied onto high carbs food with processed sugar leading to addiction
I think it s caused by the way you can interpret the words: a choice = a conscious decisions or a choice = a consequence of your actions
You can blame woke liberals for that

Yooo this is a fantastic idea. I've bee super overweight in the past and it makes life so much more difficult, not primarily because of people taking the piss but because when you cant find jeans that fit you (as a dude) and you get tired walking up a couple stairs, it's so shitty. Men are supposed to be spirits of warriors ready to leap into the mouth of the dragons to tear their insides out, not pathetic weaklings (as one I used to see myself as). Being 'plus-size' for a regular person is in no way better than being physically fit is. If they truly loved themselves, they would care for their future too and aim at the best physical versions of themselves. It's diet and exercise (primarily diet). Pay attention to your environments and modify them appropriately to work with you, not against you. No excuses and I wish you all the best. (BTW listen to Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins - Audible)
I’d definitely do that! I was a 2/3X now 40lbs gone a L... the people in this video are all beautiful. But they’re not healthy.
Great idea!! I was super fit all my life then became a size 2x for 3 years of my life and now a medium bc I lost 70 pounds. I think this is a really good idea!
I would love to see a one about that!! I was a big big plus size boy 2 years ago and I decided for myself that I have to lose weight (badly I made the choice for a boy that I really fall in love) but now I’m in a good weight and good health and still learning to love my body and myself.
Here is an idea
Being slightly overweight is okay... being obese is not okay. It's the same as being slightly underweight and being super skinny
This ^^^^
But people who are super skinny are praised.. look at the modeling industry lol
@@OhHellToTheNoo Says no one. The models most seen are not size zero. They're on sports advertisement which aren't muscular but 'beach body ready'.
Blood Cotton Candy I believe their referring to fashion models who are the highest tier of models. They are the ones who are tall and thin, but they don’t look ill cause fashion industry got really strict about it when a lot of models started starving themselves and being unhealthy. Fashion models are just blessed with the right genetics for that job.
OhHellToTheNoo fashion models aren’t SUPER skinny. They still look healthy, most of them anyway, around the late 90s early 2000s they became unhealthy skinny but now it’s no longer an issue. You gotta remember the reason their praised is because their also tall, beautiful, and look young for a very long time. These are all qualities most humans would want if they could. This archetype of human is also the most rare physical appearance, and it’s a striking presence, a fashion model stands out in a crowd very easily.
I learned in 7th grade that when people see how other people are voting, it SEVERELY affects how they vote - so they do not stand out. You would get radically different results if you asked each person in private rather than having the entire group know how they vote.
Like the bandwagon effect?

They should interview older people who are plus size to see the true effects of obesity over time. I work in healthcare and as obese people age the impact of the excessive weight increases. Chronic pain in joints that are overworked can be debilitating. Its not just about being conventionally attractive at 20-30, but its also about being able to go to grocery shopping without pain at 50, or being able to take care of yourself in your own home at 75 etc...
There’s scientific research that shows elderly people who are moderately overweight have a longer lifespan and being on the lower side of normal or underweight significantly shortens the lifespan of elderly populations.
Important to note that this applies to people who are moderately overweight. The study specifies this as a BMI between 25 and 30. (Nat. Library of Medicine, 2012 by Thorpe and Ferraro)
My mum has gained weight steadily over the years. She’ll complain that she needs to lose some weight but has never taken any action to lose it. I’ve suggested countless times that she comes with me to the gym, or we take walks in the evening, even some yoga but she always made excuses, so I couldn’t force it. She’s now in her 60s and has arthritis and gout, and I strongly believe that her weight is making the pain worse, as it’s extra weight on her joints. She’s had to retire early due to the pain and can’t walk about much, so her losing weight through exercise is out of the question now. I really feel for her but it’s a shame that she didn’t take weight loss more seriously back when she was more mobile, and it’ll only get worse as she ages.
@@oliviapasquarelli99 Then why are countries with highest life expectancy have very little overweight people? Japan, Hong Kong, Macao, Switzerland, Singapore. And everyone on this show were by definition obese, not slightly overweight.
@@vaneshcaa Now you can change her through diet. I lost a lot of weight just through diet even, if I was physically not active at all.

The Korean girl was lying about her journey 🤥
She talked about losing 60lbs and hating what she looked like and thus decided to gain it back, but she simultaneously outed herself when she said "I just didn't want to work out 8 hours a day and eat a small cup of rice".
Everybody who has ever had a successful weight loss journey on the planet knows this doesn't even register on the absurdity meter as it's so ridiculously off-base, and isn't even remotely close to the reality of losing weight, sustainably or otherwise. You don't even really need to work out! You just...eat less, and that doesn't mean 1 small cup of rice per day.
She either A. Never actually did lose that 60lbs, or B. Is in strict denial of how she let herself go and wants to act like it was her choice rather than something she refused to address as it happened (for ego reasons).
I'm willing to bet it's both A and B. Some people are just so delusional 🤡
There are unhealthy ways to lose weight and a lot of misinformation in the fitness/dieting industries that can lead to people losing a lot of weight quickly but unsustainably. I’m not sure why her story is unbelievable to you…so many people have gone through similar things.
@@sadiemoland2157 There is no fitness or dieting "industry" in existence that states that 1 cup of rice and 8 hours of excercise a day is the key to losing weight.
If you believe there is, please share with the class. She was straight up lying.
Also she said she *intentionally* decided to gain it back, which means sustainability isn't really the question here, it's whether she actually did intentionally gain it back or she simply lied and unintentionally did because she did it unsustainably. Either way, she lied.
@@sadiemoland2157 So you’d intentionally gain back 60 lbs? Makes sense 🤡
i’m guessing she did that thing where you crash diet (i doubt she literally meant 8hrs+1/4cup of rice everyday bc homegirl would be dead), you get the results fast aaaand then the crash part catches up to you because it’s unsustainable (groggy 24/7, clouded mind, zero energy or memory, brittle hair and nails etc) and you give up altogether and gain it all back.

Nothin Nothing I agree that there are definitely people who use "genetics" as an excuse to avoid losing weight. However, that doesn't mean we should discount the existence of genetic conditions that make it difficult to lose weight, as well as biological traits that increase susceptibility to obesity. The involvement of genetic factors in obesity is estimated to be roughly 40-70%. Look up "Genetics of obesity" on Wikipedia.

@@ApolloPlanetary This is very wrong. The worst thing that can ever happen is exactly what you are saying, hive mentalities. Not every group has a hive mentality, there are many transgenders, for example, that hate the entire transgender movement for forcing people to use the preferred pronouns they want. Every community has its different participants.
Unlesssss newsflash, most people who would agree to this happen to be confident enough to DO this. And it is progress because MOST of what they talked about, the majority of people disagree with. Just because you already knew this doesn’t mean others did as well.
They should have asked “I consider myself healthy” I would have been interested in seeing the responses
As if the would answer honestly. They are lying to themselfes all the time

can confirm i used to be morbidly obese (before the age of 8) and would've agreed with most of these with them as an obese adult but now that I've lost the weight my view has changed considerably and i realize how blinded i was by my lifestyle.

These people would look so pretty if they did not eat 5 hambugers a days.
I would have asked
- everybody is capable of losing weight
- I would be happy for my children to grow up plus size
- my weight affects my physical and/or mental health
- if I could lose weight overnight with no effort, I would
- it is hypocritical for people to both say they are body positive and be trying to lose weight
- bigger people shouldn’t pay more for things like clothes/airline seats
**EDIT: just to make it clear these statements aren’t necessarily what I think!! They’re the statements I would have used in this video to see whether the participants agree with them or not, as per the format that this video uses. Jubilee pls remake with these
These questions are really good....
@@kaylatoure32 these disorders usually make it more difficult for them to lose weight, but not impossible
Kayla Toure
Incorrect, some people have conditions such as hypothyroidism which affects metabolism, but this just makes it a little harder to lose weight. They just need to lower their calories more than the average person their size would need to.
Unless we’re talking about PWS, where the person doesn’t have the mental capacity to stop themselves eating, but that only affects about 1 in 15000 overweight people
Kayla Toure and you are right that eating disorders such as BED and mental disorders such as depression make it a lot harder to lose weight - I’m not denying that. But the facts are that if those people eat fewer calories, they too can lose weight. They can seek help and therapy for their problem
These questions are really really good like they aren’t offensive but they are more interesting and maybe more dividing than the ones in the video. Also would’ve liked to see a straight male in the lineup for more diversity.
This was basically a coddle session. No real points were made.
yes covenant agreed. Not much diversity.
true
They didn’t even ask hard questions. These people did not come out of their comfort zone.
And have you noticed how many of them checked out the others opinion before deciding? like can't you stand in your own opinion?
Those probably were real points for them. You don’t know those people. And plus, these were all points that still just aren’t publicized enough. So many people still think that overweight people hate themselves. Some do, but at least in this video, they have learned to love themselves.
"i love my body" but you should also care for it.

THIS
Being obese is only not a choice if you have a disability that physically prevents you from losing weight. As a person who struggles with my weight because of mental illness and eating issues, it is absolutely my fault and my choice. Just because something is hard and requires effort doesn't mean it's out of your control.
It’s amazing to me how people are capable of believing the lies they tell themselves.
Love Jubilee and especially spectrum but this episode only asked softball questions and failed to provide a variety of views... Total bummer as this could have been really interesting
Soft ball questions and a limited spectrum of guests. gay guys and straight women. I think a plus size guy may have answered the questions differently. Would have had more of an interesting discourse.
This is true. I feel like they all had similar viewpoints and attitudes. Might have been interesting to see some less confident people
I’m sure it’s because they didn’t want to provoke anyone to feel as if they were being “attacked”. It’s sad we have freedom of speech, yet limited to what is acceptable to say, as far as truth rather than hurt.
eon001 there were two plus size guys. You mean straight men? Also, what makes you think all the women are straight??

youre not gayyyy. u know ur lyin homie
Maybe they invited them. Straight plus size men r more easy to be afraid of their bodys, they can seem cool about it... But it’s cause they r better hiding their feelings. Im saying this in a 3rd person perspective cause I had friends that had depression because of their weight, and they didn’t had no one to look up to as women and my LGBT people do. I believe they would not be confident enough to go on something like this that has their bodys as theme of discussion.
I don't think straight dudes refer to themselves as "plus sized" lol
2:40 you don’t need to workout for 8 hours all you have to do is go on a diet and workout for about an hour everyday and be consistent
Why didn’t they mention anything about how obesity will effect their health.
Because truth is forbidden
Because they aren’t obese 🤨
Samira Mayers When you look like a circle you are obese. Maybe the one with the flower blouse isn’t obese
Samira Mayers they actually are the clinical definition for obesity is being 30 lbs over the maximum “healthy weight” number for your height. If they are above the maximum healthy weight number in that healthy weight range then they are overweight. For example, the healthy weight range for a woman who is 5’4 is 108-145 lbs and someone who is 146-175 lbs is overweight and someone who is over 175 lbs at 5’4 is obese. You can tell some of these people weighed more than that for their given height. And some also weighed more than 200 lbs which is the obesity mark for someone who is 5’8
Emily Slaton I understand but by that definition I would be obese and I’m definitely not obese everyone’s body is different you can be “over weight” and not be unhealthy the way people are making it seem it’s like they’re unhealthy when that’s not the case. Also there’s a reason why they said Plus Size and not obese because they’re plus sized not obese.

This has to be one of the worst “do all ____ think the same?” This is a group of all confident people. It isn’t a good representation of plus sized people.
It's a group of delusional people, not "confident" people.
Madeline Ikr! They could’ve asked the questions prior to filming to a bigger number of people and then select a few with different views, becaude this just looks like propaganda.
Goidel Kim they aren’t delusional. They represent me as a plus size person very well...I don’t see how regular size people can leave comments like these when they have been a healthy weight all their life. I have a lot of trauma and I have an eating disorder. I can’t help it. I can’t open up due to my trauma so it defeats the whole purpose of going to a doctor or therapist when I’m not gonna tell them that I ate a bowl of ice cream after dinner. Because I feel that I am disgusting for it. For eating a bowl of ice cream after dinner. That’s just how my mind works.
Harlee Davis but eating a bowl of ice cream after dinner isn’t that bad tho just like not too much? Idk I have anorexia so I understand what you mean
I don't think they are confident per se, but I do think they find comfort in each other. Most of them tend to change their answers after seeing the majority, not wanting to be too different. I see that as a sounding board type situation than really assessing if they think the same. Self acceptance in whatever body is great, but it doesn't always have to encompass health (I guess). Some people partake in obviously unhealthy habits like smoking and excessive alcohol, poor diet, I just wish they would not spread the 'health at every size' fallacy, because that's not entirely true. When facts become skewed, it leads to people making uninformed decisions.
Morbid obesity is disgusting.
