- Although the world is filled with many remarkable man-made wonders, some of the most impressive sights you can see are found in nature. Today we'll see that some lakes are among the most spectacular sights on Earth. Whether surrounded by towering mountain ranges, overgrown forests or arid, desolate deserts, there is always something magical about seeing the surroundings of a lake mirrored in its waters. Add to that mesmerizing tones, glittering surfaces and a brilliant blue sky, and it's easy to understand why the most beautiful lakes in the world are so sought after.
Lake Louise
Lake Louise is named after Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, daughter of Queen Victoria and wife of the Marquis of Lorne, who was Governor General of Canada from 1878 to 1883.
Lake Louise also called a small fish lake by the native Indians of the region is located in an area that is considered to be exceptionally picturesque and photogenic.
Moraine lake
Also formed by Rocky Mountain glaciers, but not as deep as Lake Louise, Moraine Lake has a turquoise blue hue. Here the mountains also form the ideal frame for breathtaking scenery. The order of the day is to wake up early and enjoy the sun coming out from behind the mountains to take photos and canoe on the lake. The iconic image of Moraine Lake and the Valley of Ten Peaks was used on the back of Canadian $20 bills issued between 1969 and 1979 and is considered by many to be more exotic and more beautiful than Lake Louise.
Peyto Lake
Peyto Lake is one of the most impressive lakes in Banff National Park, because unlike the other lakes that you can see up close, it has a lookout that allows you to look at it from a higher place, allowing a complete panoramic view of the scenery. Because of its bright color, pictures of the lake often appear in picture books, and the surrounding area is a popular tourist spot. But if you think this lake is sought after only for its mesmerizing color, you'll be surprised to learn that its lookout is also a vantage point for Northern Lights.
Emerald lake
It was discovered in 1882, when the famous mountain guide Tom Wilson was led along the lakeside as he gathered a group of horses that had lost their way, and was immediately dazzled by the vivid emerald waters. Located in Yoho National Park, in the province of British Columbia, it is another lush and incredible lake formed by glacial waters originating from the Canadian Rockies.
Joffre Lakes
Located in British Columbia, the Joffre lakes are three turquoise lakes and are part of the Joffre Lake Provincial Park. The trek to discover these three lakes is one of the most beautiful and popular in British Columbia. Breathtaking views and majestic glacier-laden peaks that soar overhead make this a relatively moderate hike with incredible rewards.
The three lakes are aptly named Lower, Middle, and Upper.

Maravilhosos esses lagos.
