We are taking a 15 day repositioning cruise from England to the Caribbean. Today we made our third stop at the breathtaking island of Antigua. A local named Andre offered to spend his whole day with us to show us the best things his island has to offer. For the first time ever, we accidentally deleted a ton of footage, but we did our best to fill in the blanks. We were so sad since Antigua quickly became our favorite island, but thankfully we still had plenty of footage left to show you why!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started traveling full-time January 10, 2016. While daily vlogging was not the original plan, we were having way too many cool experiences not to share every single day! Now travel vlogging is our full-time gig, and we feel like we have the greatest job in the world! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

I love your spirit. You lose things, and even in the telling of the story you make me love the place you are. Years ago we went to Antigua, and a several year drought was ended by our presence. It rained so hard we had flooding at where we stayed, the restaurants had roof leakage, and our golf carts would short out and not run. It was one of my least favorite places, but your experience makes me think about returning.

My husband, myself and our three sons (19, 16 and 6) leave for our Christmas cruise this weekend. We are going western this time but we LOVE Antigua. I am so sorry you lost your footage. CAN NOT WAIT! to visit Antigua in May this year. I'm a real beach fan, I'm staying at a hotel on Jolly beach which is said to be one of the best but I'm definitely going to check that amazing beach out, it looks beautiful. 😍

Kara and Nate, if that ever happens again, take a piece of tape and hold your connection in place until you can replace the cable. Secondly, use the copy function and not the move/cut and paste option. That way you'll still have a better chance of not losing your precious data.

My brother and I managed a private resort in Barbuda, literally about 20 minutes from the Antigua airport. I absolutely loved my time in Antigua and Barbuda
Also, if you're there on a day when the water is completely still, it's so weird, looks like a sheet of glass
Headed that way again soon spent my honeymoon there 3 years ago at SANDALS but never went off to explore it will be my home for the next year or so can't wait and thanks too this video I'm so excited 🤗

We went to Antigua on our honeymoon! We stayed at the Verandah Resort and it was absolutely amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better vacation for 10 days. Zip-linning, two snorkeling excursions, it really was the best! I would definitely go back!
Devil's bridge was just outside my resort and we could walk to it from on of the beaches.
Never move/delete the original files from the memory card before you have confirmed that they are in the other device. Sometimes, it's good to have invested 20 to 50 bucks in the form of UNDELETING software that can be used to restore deleted files if a freeware version doesn't get them all. But, undeleting only works if you haven't written anything to the storage device.

Too bad that many commenting people think it happened just yesterday. I bet they were in Antigua at least a week ago. And I bet they have used the memory card and the usb drive writing new data over the missing data. But maybe they learned from this that never delete the original files without verifying that the destination files are in the working order. Better yet, copy the files to two separate storage devices because making videos is their business. :)
@@monksuu You can't "write over" data on external drives, it the drive is full it will say you have to delete something to make room and if they did that not realizing what it was then it was just laziness or impatience, but she said the plug came loose and usually when that happens it will save on both devices what has been transferred with a pop up prompt that says it has not completed, so you either try and resume the transfer or try again but it should never just delete what has been moved. I deal with a ton of data transfer to many different external devices and aside from a drive actually failing this has never happened to me.......................... I am suspicious

Antigua is my favorite island
I've been to Antigua when I was like 5 years old, so I don't remember that much haha😅 But as soon as I recognised some places you visited so many memories came back! I was there during Carnaval and we don't have anything like that in the Netherlands so seeing that was really special to me, lovely to see that you are enjoying this as much as I did. This was my first introduction to travelling ❤️

I don't know how you did it, but this video is probably one of the best I've seen in your whole channel ever since I started following you. Don't feel bad guys, I rarely hit a like button (sorry, it's because UA-cam makes it easier to jump to the next video), but I decided from now on I will like every single video I watch from you guys. Don't cray Kara, these things happen and you guys had i better than many unlucky people who lost their expensive equipments on top of the footage. You guys are awesome and keeping me looking forward to travel with my wife soon :)

Install TeraCopy. It verifies the files before it deletes it from the source. There is also software out there to un-delete something. As long as no new data was written to the disk all the data is still there.
A bit late, but I've been binging for 3 weeks straight to try and catch up.
I know it's disappointing to you when you lose footage, but your vlog doesn't suffer. It's also great to listen to you tell a story while we look at your photos.

I've been to a lot of beaches in the Caribbean, if you have a chance visit Trunk Bay on St. Johns. The most beautiful beach I have ever seen.

You covered so much of the island in one day! I didn't even get to go to Devil's Bridge on the eastern side of the island in a whole week. The beaches are incredible (Jolly Beach is my favourite) but I would still say the Maldives has the world's best beaches.

I know exactly how you guys feel. I did an exchange programme in Montreal for three weeks so I didn't take my laptop and on the LAST day my friend accidentally deleted ALL the photos on my camera, losing everything, from my trip to niagara, to my host family, the trips, the city, my friends. Everything. I was sooooo shocked I didn't even react.
