- Today i will showcasing Rare & Uncommon PS3 Games in 2023. This list ranges from low to highest in rarity. Everything from your holy grail NBA Elite 11 to some forgotten PS3 exclusives.
I used both Price Charting and eBay to find average prices for the games. The games in each tier are in no particular order, rather all fall under that same tier regardless of price.
On the list, i meant to put SAW 2 in the mid tier list, with Dead Nation being the top tier list. Somehow i miss this in post editing. My bad!

Reminds me I came very close to picking up Painkiller back in 2013 at my gamestop. At the time it was $30, ended up getting Haze instead 💀

Because nobody buys them during their shelf life. People don't want them until they become an expensive collector's item.
I can't believe Armored Core Verdict costs this much. I remember a year and half ago i bought it at a local game store for literally a fraction of that price (15 bucks). Also every AC game could be purchased online for less than 25 dollars. But now that AC6 got announced everyone bumped up their price to stupid levels. The retro games market has really become awful the past 3 years.
Thats why i have roms of them along with many other rare games lol im not paying crazy prices

Yeah, when PS announced closing down the store the prices increased by like 20%-30% where I'm at. Can't imagine when it completely shuts down for good.
I still remember getting the Afrika Dynamic wallpaper for my PS3, it’s the theme I used to this day. Always like it when I was younger and knowing it’s a rare game now makes me like it more.

Some other uncommon ones: Tom Clancy Splinter Cell Trilogy is around $30, Tomb Raider Trilogy is around $20, Deadly Premonition is around $50, Lolipop Chainsaw is around $70.

Folklore was a cool game. Its set in the same part of Ireland where I'm from. They really got the right look for a rural Irish village.

PAL Versions but i looked up on ebay and the prices are the same as for US Versions.

Wow, this is actually a pretty great video with some accurate mentions that you don't find on other lists (especially Aquanaut's Holiday) but I do want to strongly emphasize that value =/= rarity. None of the Armored Core games are rare, they were easily available up until around 6 months ago due to the hype for AC6, so yeah the price has seen a crazy rise but that doesn't say that much. The Spider-Man games are expensive and I would say they're rather uncommon, but a game like Adam's Venture is much, much rarer (arguably top 5) although it is PAL only. Blazblue Central Fiction is also very rare for PS3 and deserves to be in this list. I can imagine it being difficult to do both NTSC and PAL games though. Still, great video, as was your PS2 online games in 2023 video.
I think it's difficult to create a comprehensive list across all regions. If he covered all the HK releases of games, people would be surprised at the price difference, availability as a physical release, and even their manuals (the Puppeteer manual is something special). Considering the guy is speaking with an American English accent, the result of the video was an North Americn-focused list, though surprisingly he left out the Mexican releases except as honorable mentions.
I remember seeing splatter house ads as kid. Crazy how it just faded to obscurity like that.

The Simpsons Movie Game, Bioshock Ultimate Rapture Edition & the 007 games are also pretty rare
Hey I would like to say that was a nice video!, got it randomly in my recommendations and I'm glad it did.
Very interesting to see the list of this games, mostly because I have various of them that I bought it used for less than 8$ and other new and sealed for less than 13$!, some of them were:
Asura Wrath (new)
Best of PSN Collection (used)
Dead Nation (new)
Shadow of the Damned (new)
Splatterhouse (used)
The Puppeteer (new)
Luckily in my country most of the local gaming stores doesn't care to research the value of the games on the internet, so if they have a game that no one buy it (because is obscure or not appeal the costumer) they ended up selling it by 10$ or way less, lol!
Also checking the comments section, it looks like that there are more rare physical PS3 games out there, I know 2 other games that are quite rare due that was released in a specific countries and not a region, which are:
El Chavo Kart: It was released only in a few countries of Latin America like Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Peru and Chile.
Ra.One: The physical disc of this game is ultra rare, apparently it was a digital game based on a Bollywood movie and the physical version was sold exclusively in India and since the game was delisted, the copy became another of those "holy grail" of PS3 games, lol!.
Anyway, one last thing that I would like to mention, it's something that I'm quite intrigued at the 13:00 part:
Does really that box of Dead Nation cost 183$?, I mean did anyone know that is just an empty box with a voucher code, right?, I actually bought that game box new and sealed for just 5$ (no joking).
And in case if you don't know, that copy of Dead Nation was part of a lineup that Sony LATAM (Latin America) made back around on 2014-2016, for promote the PlayStation Store in various Latin American countries and they offered digital games sold in an empty game's boxes with a cover art and a voucher code, there were only 5 games that were offered in that way and were: Dead Nation, Rain, Sound Shapes, Hohokum and CounterSpy.
And also the lineup wasn't very popular since a lot of those games end up being sold for 5$ each and way later (like in 2017) were sold in bundles for just 1$, lol!.
Seeing Fifa 19 on this List I thought you were kidding but honestly kinda make sense most "recent" Late Fifa Games I could find is mostly Fifa 18 and yes I don't like the Games but due to them being so cheap I usually buy them
I seen that Afrika game in the wild a couple years ago before i started looking up games or maybe when my phone was dying and couldn't look it up at the time

I had one in my possession and sold it. I bought and sold it for about 100$ dollars. Real photography is more enjoyable than a PS3 game. 😅

Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions was the first game I ever got for my PS3. I don't remember what happened to it, but I wish I still had it
I had Asura's Wrath on Xbox 360. Fun game, had no idea it'd become rare on PS3. Sucks that you had to buy the true ending to the game as "dlc." Capcom be Crapcom a lot during that generation of consoles.
I'm pissed because I have a PS3 copy of Asuras Wrath but my PS3 from when I was younger died on me. Bought a new one and couldn't get into my old account (have no idea what the password/email associated with it is since I was like 12 when I set all that up) so I'm just locked out of the DLC I bought for it forever now I supposed 🙃
You could have included Marvel vs Capcom 2, although it has no disc. Kept my copy sealed and play my Dreamcast copy. Also, there are the Railfan games and many more. Got them all for cheap, luckily, since I started collecting for PS3 in 2011.
If you ever make a part two of this video, you could add BlazBlue Centralfiction's PS3 physical copy version, it's extremely rare to find

I found Blades Of Time at a secondhand shop for $10 last year. It was crazy they had it listed for that .
I find the more rural ones always have rarer games for a lot less.

Wow never knew Afrika was rare. Never owned it but I always use the Afrika Dynamic theme for my PlayStation 3 wallpaper. It was so peaceful to see the zebras crossing the fields.

I have some Adventure Time game that I bought for the PS3 I just got second hand, brand new from GameStop back in 2016; still have the original receipt while the disc retains no scratches. Finn and Jake Adventures to be exact, that port seems pretty rare to come by in the US region but it ain’t particularly valuable. It’s quite clear by it’s absence from this list 😉

One thing u forgot to mention about fifa 19 is that it was only released in Mexico in North America, which is way harder to find and more expensive then the European version.

I literally have Afrika, funny think is i got it as a teenager when i barely spoke english so it was kinda hard to play, but i really loved it, animals were really well rendered (my ps3 died a long time ago and i'm on PC now, but i still have my ps3 games taking the dust here lmao)
First party Sony game Lost in the Rain (known as Rain in the west and Japan) English Asia/Hong Kong version is really rare. I have the English Hong Kong version.

A lot of these games are just bad games in general. So nothing is really missed. I doubt people who own half of these games bother to complete them since how bad they are. Not worth to buy them at those crazy prices if you are not going to play them.

Folklore is great. Splatter house is decent and the rest is kind of crap yeah. People overhype Asura's wrath nowadays but if they got to play it today with those crappy QTEs, they would trash it on the spot lol
Also I'm surprised Siren Blood Curse isn't on the list. Expensive but also good, basically the last Japanese survival horror game along with Fatal Frame on the Wii before the jumpscare era.

Just recently I was looking for a copy of Motorstorm Complete. I know the game had a European release and a Japanese release, but a search on eBay showed nearly nothing for the European release. There was a copy for way more than $100. I ended up getting a Japanese copy for just under $40. It’s still the same game with all the DLC on disc except the little messages before a race were removed and replaced with a stock photo. In case anybody was curious. The menus are still in English and just about any in game text is in English too.
I will say, the manuals were better than what the States got. Lots of color, cool pictures, every vehicle class gets a rundown with stats (that I can’t read😤) and every track gets an overhead map with a little blurb talking about it (which I can’t read😤😤😤 I’m not mad).
Edit: it also doesn’t help that the edition is called Motorstorm Complete and all the listings you get are for Motorstorm Complete in Box with Manual. They couldn’t make it harder to search for.
I own the european release of it. I was very lucky to find it from a ebay seller in spain who shipped it to germany. 😁
A important detail most people don`t know is that this edition is the only legal way to play the dlc in this days. You can still buy them in PSN but they are useless without the game update which was not hosted on Sonys update server. It was a server of evolution studios which is offline this days. Its almost impossible to get the update without a custom firmware.

Hey I dunno if my previous comment posted because I can’t see it in this thread, but in case you didn’t see it, there are emulated servers you can log into to access the Motorstorm DLC that do not require modding or custom firmware. All you have to do is change your internet settings to access the server and update your game to get your DLC. It’s safe, zero risk of being banned. There are 2 servers you can use. I only remember PSONE (PlayStation Online Network Emulated). Google it and it’s very easy to access it.
