I JUST COME ACROSS this video, I used to work for Miller Lite back when Larry Dixon drove for them he was always such a nice guy to us and they always took such good care of us in the hospitality area. I had no idea this was going on. The NHRA needs to get its act together, people want this. If i had one thing on the top of my bucket list to ever do, it would be to do this. And i wouldnt care what it costs! Hope Larry wins his lawsuit, he's such a great guy!

Larry was my favorite drag racer when i was a kid. Always wanted one of his model cars but never got one when he raced for miller lite. Such a incredible thing he’s doing; very interested in learning more

I dont know of too many people who would not want to ride in a top fuel car with larry driveing to me its like rideing with garlits same caliber driver .
Greg, I definitely envy that ride and hope to crawl into that back seat one day soon. I just had the incredible opportunity to ride back seat in an 1,100 HP Air Tractor 502 crop duster which I'd highly recommend, but after watching your reaction, that's got to be my next seat.

I have been around drag racing on and off since 1961 and one of the special things about the sport is that as a spectator, you are allowed to roam around the pit area at will and the fans appreciate that... That makes me think ( and I have been thinking about this for a long time ) Wouldn't it be big if small local tracks would allow people with door cars and aqueduct safety equipment to bring one shotgun seat passenger, like his girlfriend or somebody down track for a ride...??? I really think that would give the sport a boost. Maybe only at the eighth mile local tracks. I s'pose some car owners would find it annoying to have strangers bugging them for track rides though. Your thoughts...???
@@ThomasDeLello Good idea. My local track allows that at MoKan Dragway. Not sure what the rules are exactly. This was just a Friday Night fun drags. But some of the guys where testing for the Saturday races and let some ride with them.

Great video ! Larry is such a good man. Yes, he’s a great driver of course, but he’s just a really good guy. This concept makes dreams come true for sure. I would love to know the speed they are hitting.I’m sure he backs it down a bit, but who cares ! I’m sure it’s the most expensive 4 seconds of your life, BUT, also the most thrilling ! How soft is the tune/nitro load/ clutch compared to competition tune?
And what's the g's on the launch and chute pull?.
Bryan It’s still pretty wicked up. When we run car, we use the drivetrain out of our conventional car. Depending on track conditions, we’ve been as quick as .870 60’ times. The g’s at launch are around 4, and -4 shutting down.

Yeah, this thing is a unique creature. I've seen two seat dragsters before, but those were always Super Comp type cars. This thing is a whole other animal. LOL. I don't envision any shortage of applicants to take a ride in a top fuel dragster being piloted by one of the all-time greats the sport has to offer. And for anyone that thinks a ride in one of these beasts are "overpriced", I'd advise researching how expensive it is to operate these machines and how much maintenance they require. Top fuel is no place foe penny pinchers or the feint of heart. There is a reason why there are so few top fuel teams in the world today. The cost to run these cars is astronomical. Thank God there are still folks around like Larry willing to do it. Nothing else in the world can compare to a top fuel pass. It just overpowers your senses in multiple ways. I can't even begin to imagine what it is like from the driver's vantage point. This program gives us that chance to find out for ourselves.

Yeah the cost is insane. But the engineering into them is even more insane. Even promods now are getting fast. 3.6.?s in the 1/8 in a door car is insane on a radial. Ill stick to working on racecars and building my little prostreet truck. The technology is just advancing so fast. You spend 20k then next year something comes out worth 30k and is better. Just so much to keep up with in racing in any form.

I'm not a huge fan of drag Racing, but understand that there is a tremendous following & have no reason to talk crap about it, or the fans. I'm a dirt track guy. It's great that a fan can experience the force of the launch.... I had to think that they don't get to upper speed due to insurance limitations. Some dirt tracks offer the opportunity to buy a few laps in a 2 seater. Many different variations of ride along & even driving experiences are available, dirt, pavement both. It's great that these experiences are available.

The litigation which Larry Dixon has been required pursue while maintaining established safety protocols, speaks very negatively on NHRA Corporate's attempt to preclude public outreach and market development. NHRA, at best, is intent upon maintaining a censured product monopoly and preclude engagement. Keep posted on the litigation brought by Larry Dixon.
superweezer1 I’ve hated NHRA since they killed Modified Eliminator. NHRA followed NASCAR: Cookie cutter cars, expensive electronics that make up for driver skill and the Circus atmosphere surrounding the events. It’s not about the racing. It’s about how much money NHRA takes in to support their high on the hog lifestyles... just like NASCAR.

Yeah I think Larry Dixon got screwed. I have been an NHRA fan for 35 years, that might change depending on how they treat Larry Dixon going forward. You have alot of idiot's in the NHRA running things that have no business running things because alot of them have never been down a dragstrip, and don't even give a shit about drag racing. The NHRA is either going to get with it, or get the hell out of the way. These teams dont really need the NHRA. These teams could make the NHRA irrelevant overnight if they all got together. An NHRA driver put a modern top fuel engine in a pro mod chassis. Thats trend setting stuff in the drag racing world, Looks and sounds cool as hell. Wondering if the ass holes at the NHRA will squash him the way they are Larry Dixon. I hope you win Larry, for all of our sakes......If the NHRA is smart, they will embrace new ideas. They could capitalize on those new ideas but again, alot of them don't even give a shit about drag racing. So sad!

When I was in high school they held high school drags every summer holiday and each event we had at least 500 competitors.
Now the kids are down to just one.

I remember at the 2016 Winternationals, Pomona Fairgrounds I went up to Ron Capps with the Idea to seek/promote new sponsors with a custom built two seater Top Fuel Dragster. He told me that it would be hard to almost impossible to find a insurance company that would cover such a dangerous entertainment ride....Ask Ron Capps. Go On, Ask Ron. Get Onit, Johnny Onit
Insurance wasn’t that hard to get at all. Not cheap, but fairly easy to secure. The Indycar Experience was a great help to us in the beginning stages to answer a lot of unknowns.
Been a drag fan for many many years! Been to a lot of races, a lot of tracks, used to be such a thrill and would be jacked up for days after attending an NHRA event. Now with the 4 wide freak show, big bucks multi car teams multi bucks championships being won ho hum boring every year now days. What kept me going was at least seeing my favorite drivers racing one of em being Mr Dixon. Then I heard about the BS taking place with this car project! Unbelievable! I have ridden in the back seat of an Air Force fighter jet before, and will never ever forget that experience! Being behind Mr Dixon in a double up Top fuel car would top that!
It would have at least kept me hanging in there as a fan or NHRA drag racing! But sadly my fun meter just continues to drop lower and lower for that sport now.

I've experience 3+ G in a simulator, and I had a motorcycle that was 0-60 in 3 sec.....but this....0-240 in 3sec+ ...wow !

Gene Golson I personally strapped him in car. He wore a Simpson helmet with a built in sock and underneath that he wore a Stand 21 balaclava “lid lifter”.

I'd ride a bicycle to Indianapolis for a ride with Larry. My opinion.... he got the shaft with NHRA. I met him at a strip near Cincinnati while his team was tuning for the following week at Indy. After they loaded up and was heading out, there sat Larry drinking his sponsors brand of beer. He was a great asset for the Miller Brewing Co..
I said, "WHAT?" outloud when I read the title. I had no idea this was even possible. I immediately started looking for where I could do this. Didn't take long to realize it won't be happening thanks to the very organization. ugh. Good Luck, Larry.
Santapod UK you can ride in a 7 sec 1/4 mile dragster ride. It costs around £400 per run which includes event entry to which ever meeting you choose to do it at.I'm very tempted to have a go when I go again next year's Euro finals

ive allways loved racing sence i was 6 year old im 41 now my uncle donnie took me and allways wanted to ride in a dragster or to meet jon force and his daughters it would be a dreem come true i was raised in house hold never had the money to go to the races and uncle donnie would take me grining ear to ear when he would pull up.

How long is the track ?
Insurance limits us to 1/8 mile. Et and speeds are usually around 3.30 at 250+ mph in that distance.
