I will be posting more consistent content in the future. I slacked this summer, but hopefully I can share some higher quality videos next year.
This was a calm morning during the first week of August, there were some quality 20+lb fish being caught over a few days strictly on jigs. This fish was 22lbs.
Gear;
Rod: Tsunami Airwave Elite 11’4 4-8oz
Reel: Daiwa BG 8000
Line: 40# Daiwa J-braid x4
Lure: 4oz Al Gags Whip it fish
Do I need a go pro to catch a fish? What conditions are best to whip it? So far I think I’m personally funding Mr Gag’s retirement. I must have lost a million of whip it’s. Great video! Thanks!
I'm having canal withdrawal
They love the gags
Have you ever used the regular tsunami airwave, in in between that and the elite. Is the elite worth the extra 40 bucks?
Is your rod medium/heavy or heavy
I love that god damn reel by DaiwA. Better than My VR. Got myself A Saltist. But I can’t stand the T knob handle by DaiwA.
Nice fish!!!!!
Wats up man, how do u like the j braid?
Cape Cod Canal Fishing It’s decent line, plenty strong, the only complaint I have about it is that it’s thicker than it’s rated. It says it’s the same diameter as power pro but it’s slightly thicker, so a bit less casting distance.
Born Lucky If someone is looking for an inexpensive braid the J-braidX4 isn’t bad, it’s definitely not on the level of more expensive braids when talking distance, but it hasn’t failed me and is a fairly tough braid. Definitely not junk, but not high performance. (I usually use max cuatro)
Get Tight Fishing ya I was just looking for a cheaper braid for tog fishing since I only target them a few times a year
J braid 8x is fine I caught multiple fish on it last season
Agree with all comments below, however, if you fish more intensely, say 3-4 times a week, it will only last about 2-3 months. After that it starts to break very easy. I tested two spools of it.
Nice Video, thanks. How do you like that rod and reel? I'm thinking about a similar setup. Same rod but a BG5000.
Todd Spencer im having the same dilemma. I think these guys will tell us that we need the 33 lbs of drag, the 6000..and mine as well go a ounce heavier and get the 8000 instead of the 6000 for longer casting distance lol. Do we really need 33 lbs of drag vs 22 ??
