- Liverpool have completed the signing of Federico Chiesa and he seems happy, but what does this mean for Liverpool? Where does Chiesa fit in Arne Slot's system for Liverpool ahead of the fixture against Man United?

I'm surprised that more clubs weren't interested in signing Chiesa. Liverpool sold a relatively unproven player in Fabio Carvalho for twice this fee.
Grabbed him for the same amount we sold Bobby Clark for …….. madness 😂
Prem tax innit
He won't go to any team, not any team he'd want to go may sign him, because they're probably stacked in the position he could play or may not fit their style.
It was pretty much up to him which club he goes to. Plenty of teams would have him for this price
Because Juventus wanted rid because of injury concerns.
As a Juventus fan and seeing these comments, you Liverpool fans have NO IDEA what type of player you’re getting with Chiesa and that’s very sad to see. His work ethic, his creativity, and hisnot giving up attitude is an example for many players.
Ye honestly I’ve only seen glimpses of him so it’s hard to say an I don’t know what he was like last season after the injury
“ you Liverpool fans “ it’s not the Liverpool fans you pillock .
Thank you for your work and he is a brilliant player we will look after him ❤
He is exactly what we need.
Most Liverpool fans I've seen are gassed? Not sure what comments you're reading.
£10.9 mil is genuinely mental.
We signed Borini (Who was dreadful) back in 2012 for more. For some perspective. Rivals can be bitter all they want, the fact is - the price means he'll have zero pressure + he replaced Carvalho (who Liverpool sold £27.5mil for) also accentuates that he's a fringe player, and Liverpool FINALLY have a RW Backup... and it's one who has a high ceiling. Awesome.
We upgraded carvalho to chiesa and made over 10 million. We also got one of the highest valued keepers in the world for 30 million. I love it
We paid the same amount for Heskey back in 2000. Honestly mental
Give Richard Hughes is dues. He flipped Van de Berg for Mamardashvili and Carvalho for Chiesa + 15m.
Chiesa even chose to keep his current salary and turned down bigger wages elsewhere.
Passion over money😎
We payed more for El Hadji Diouf…
I haven’t been this excited about a signing since Thiago. This guy is the real deal.
At 12.5 wow
It's also the fact we got him so cheap, incredibly low risk high reward
Was the real deal* Not been the same for a long time
Neto better (but injuries :( )
What did Thiago do?
Salah has always played every minute in the season. Now he has a very capable back-up to give him some rest. That means both Chiesa and Salah will be fresh every time they play, which is scary for defenders
Nobody fears Chiesa. Salah? Yes.
Chiesa is injury prone
@@Sound6838 Chiesa played 33 league games last season. Only missed 5 of them
@@alifomar2422tell him again, plz
@@alifomar2422 And why did he miss 5? Because of injury?
Delighted as a Liverpool fan. Guy played 33/38 last year. Everyone knows you don’t just come back from an ACL. Just look at Virgil. Having a guy with blistering pace who will track back and can play across all 3 spots or as a 10. Unreal bit of business.
He's lost alot of pace since his acl and he's constantly injured.
@@TricksyBix He hasn’t though. His highest clocked speed last season was 5th in Italy with 36.2kph. His previous pre-injury top speed was 37kph.
Szoboszlai was Liverpool’s fasted clocked player last season with 36.7kph. The season prior it was Nunez with 36.5kph. Diaz’s fastest is below Chiesa’s last season. Salah’s prime top speed was 36.6kph. He’s still almost as fast a prime Salah!
He also isn’t constantly injured as the OP stated about last season. Outside of his ACL he’s never missed more than 1-2 weeks with minor knocks, muscle injury and fatigue, almost always missing just 1-2 games at a time. He missed 11 games last season with a few minor injuries, as does almost every player, his previous most games missed in a season pre-injury was 7. Players who have had an ACL injury tend to pick up minor soft tissue injuries because they overcompensate with the surrounding muscles (calf and thigh, mainly) to keep pressure away form the knee, it takes a while for that confidence to come back, and that has very clearly improved a lot for him throughout last couple of seasons. Given he’s still only 26, it would certainly appear he’s improving all the time and is well over the worst of it. He’s no Sturridge, Lovren, Thiago, Chamberlain or Keita, not by any stretch of the imagination.
Stop parroting what someone else told you when the facts are there to be seen for yourself.
@@steveo4991 People just hear things and put labels on players they have no clue about. Let's be honest, your average Phil who gets drunk on a Saturday, watches his home team at the pub and beats his wife doesn't watch serie A. They just want to spread negativity and have a loud opinion. They are probably David Icke patreons too. He might not be the Fiorentina Chiesa. But for 12 million euro this is a bargain even if he exceeds Antony lol. And he'd do that even on the physio table.
@@TricksyBix 😆
@@TricksyBix he played 32 league games last season
Slot has said , due to the intensity hes asking his wingers and fullbacks to play at, he wants to rest them as much as possible. In each game so far he has taken the front 2 or 3 off as well as both fullbacks once 2-0 up. He wants class players as back up. Now his 2nd string front 3 Gakpo, Nunez, Chiesa, Full backs Tsimikas and Bradley. Chiesa for 10m is a no brainer as well, reminds me a bit of the Shaqiri deal a few years ago. Great player will hopefully do well, then when we sell will get at least our money back if not a profit.
He's alot better than shaquiri too which is just mind boggling the price of this, especially given today's market price
Liverpool got the deal of a life time, good luck!
i'm a Juve fan and i'm partial to Man City but i'm rooting for Liverpool this season.
Danny from Beirut.
You support a club that was relegated for match fixing so of course you’d be partial to cheating filth like Man City
obviously there’s a few games that were exceptions but salah at liverpool is always electric until christmas then he slows down naturally for the second half of the season cus he plays more or less every minute of every game, chiesa can play half of those games or come on with 30 to go in a lot of games to rest salah and potentially keep him at that high level for the whole season
Spot on
They wrote off VV Dyck after his injury.Yes his form fell off for 18 or so months but last season he came back. The same happened to F Chiesa. He'd already scored 10 goals last season so he's getting better .We struck gold.Well done backroom boys
Oh fuck, Rory has made good predictions for Liverpool, now we are fucked 😂😂😂😂
LOL
Liverpool are binning United.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
As an italian myself, i was so happy for Chiesa, but this video ruined my hopes 😢😢😢
@@micheleduritto 😂
We get Chiesa for 10 million and United are looking at signing Rahim Sterling. 🤣🤣🤣
YEP AND ON £14 MILL PER YEAR !!!!
Good luck with him…😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Christian Pulisic is way better than Sterling, Mount, Rashford, Antony, Chiesa.
@@DantheDolfan That's pretty delusional lol. Mount at Chelsea cleared pulisic. Quite literally. He got a few cameos at right back. Wonder why... And Rashford at his best is unplayable.
I saw Slot talk in the preseason in the US that he sees Elliot as a #10
Robbo was what £8m from hull he became 1 of the best LB in the world still up there with 1 of the best LBs in the world still I’d say so let’s see what Slot can do with Chiesa I’m excited
u see the smile on his face, he really wanted LFC and stuff, that feeels right
What on earth are these comments lad.
Says the bot...
Not to mention he will be on 80k a week, that's mental considering how many young and unproven players get higher salaries.
Rory looking at Liverpools signings and wondering how they keep getting away with it.
Last season Liverpool signed a 16mil DM from a relegation battling german team and he outperformed 3 Chelsea DMS worth 250mil 😂😂 😂😂
Endo didn't do anything don't lie.
@@TChAriv1 Tell me you have zero ball knowledge without telling me you have zero ball knowledge 🐶
@@TChAriv1he wasn’t outstanding but certainly had outstanding moments. He was the best midfielder on the pitch vs city at anfield last season.
@@jamesf3985 Aside from fulham goal, he was horrible. Why do you think Liverpool still want a dm if he was so great
@@jamesf3985 If you had ball knowledge, why are Liverpool still looking for a dm if he was soo great? Why wasn’t he starting? Klopp preferred to play mc alister out of position instead of him. You have such great ball knowledge answer.
I've always adored him! One of my favourite players in fif career modes for YEARS! I'm a happy liverpool fan
I feel like Chiesa will start off as a ~60 minute super sub in place of Salah
Also I don’t think Salah is staying any time longer and I think Chiesa coming in as also as his replacement sounds right.
Chiesa has speed, dribble he’s just injury prone but if he can manage to stay injury free he’s a freak
Football is very dynamic. Last season at crucial moments Diaz, Nunez, Gakpo and Jota missed some sitters that would change the outcome of the Premier League. Salah hardly miss and so Chiesa. The minute Chiesa starts to capitalize those chances, Diaz, Gakpo, Nunez, and Jota are going to be questioned... it's not about who runs, dribble, shoot more, but who garantees goals... Let's see...
@@maggiopazzotv4268 Three years ago Chiesa was the only right winger on the planet who had the potential to succeed Salah. If we manage his fitness well, this might be the best signing we ever made under fsg tbh. If you value pound for pound
I’m convinced Rory is undercover scouser, only guy who actually gives us props. Love it
as a liverpool fan Im absolutely buzzing with this signing!! Chiesa is a baller🔥
what an attacking option to have his so versatile Aswell, another Micheal Edwards masterclass in the transfer window!!
As a neutral I really agree with Rory. I like Chiesa and thought he was class before his injury. I wish him luck.
He wasn't involved in preseason games with Juve so I think it'll be a while before he's considered "up to speed" to be playing much.
But that's short term I think overall this is a hell of a signing and if Slot can get him back anywhere close to his winning form in those Euros could be one of the all time bargins.
Im excited about this signing. Yes hes had injury probems but when fit hes pure quality. And with the way slot plays chiesa will thrive under him
Honestly he'll tear this league up soon watch, LFC is literally the PERFECT club for players that posses his mental qualities
This could be the deal of the century.
Lol why are juv fcuking him off
He is glazing us and I love it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rory, this is the 1st time that I've listened in your channel and you were 100% bang on with your comments about Chiesa. His qualities are all to see and even after his injury, his dribbling quality and his pace is up there with the best of our squad, and is at an age were he could only get better. Brian
im so excited to see chiesa play for us
Brilliant analysis, Rory and well done. As a Liverpool fan I agree with your take on Salah. Chiesa is a blessing in disguise to him, absolutely. Nice analysis 👍 ❤
Great bit of analysis and interpretation!! I actually feel a lot better hearing a reasoned argument for the the acquisition!! Imma send this to Slot....just in case he hasn't had that conversation with Salah yet!!
The sell-on fee from Solanke’s move to Spurs basically pays for this transfer.
Sad to see him go! His ACL injury definately held him back for awhile but when he’s playing he always make things happen. High work rate, got the tekkerz, nose for goal.
Can see him go out on a tear for Liverpool. Wish he stays healthy so the english fans gets to see his best side.
As a teenager I've been watching Serie A my favourite player was Enrico chiesa of Parma now his son is playing for my beloved liverpool if he can reach the heights of the year he won the euros with Italy damn premier league ain't ready for this Italian whirlwind ❤
i hope we can get his best form even if its not to what it was back in the euros. he is a baller and if everything he said during his introduction is true and comes from the heart and he really wanted to play for us then i want nothing but the best for him.
liverpool-fan and super exited about this!!
lol Chiesa isn’t even half the price we sold Carvalho for 😂😂😂 you know how ludicrous that is? We’ve sold players who’ve never played for our first team for more than that. Insane business
Crazyyyy 🤯
Liverpool fan here. Salah will be happy that Chiesa is here - BUT, I reckon Salah is gone at the end of the season. For me, this is Salah's last season and Chiesa has nothing to do with that decision
Not only that he can play anywhere up front, perfect for us
Salah has a good chance at breaking top records if he stays. That might sway him
Surely hope so, we can't afford for Mo Salah to leave. He has so much goals left in him.@@junioradult6219
I think chiesa does have something to do with salah . Not salah thinking, liverpool are preparing for a salah replacement
I think Salah will stay
Welcome Federico
Chiesa can play across the front 3, theres nothing against them both playing together. Chiasa is a beast of an attacking player, this could arguably be the best signing of the summer.
Genius point and you have nailed it on the Salah front
Great vid, love the new editing style 👍
Just discovered you Rory. Absolutely loved your take. Liked minded and so well put together. Liked and subscribed!!
Yes Rory, yes.. continue making Liverpool content. You look great in red. And the content, think of the views Rory.
Okay guys, I think he bought it! 💙
One thing is missing from your analysis of this transfer. Why weren't Juventus keen to renew his contract? Its probabld they know something Liverpool dont about his ability to regain his form after that ACL injury... still... at 12 Mil hes a pretty risk free signing. A world class talent thats worth having in the squad.
the only way people will call him a flop by the end of his time at liverpool is A if he’s injured all the time or B if they judge chiesa by his once world class potential rather than by the price tag we paid. He’ll come in as 6th choice forward and he’ll be comparable to origi, shaqiri and minanino who we paid similar fees for in the past and all won us a trophy indirectly. Chiesa for example could start over salah for the domestic cup games alone and if he wins us one of them he’s already a success. For 10m it can’t be a bad signing unless he somehow loses over half of his current ability
Banger video Rory 🙌🔥
Chelsea are edging closer to a deal for England winger Jadon Sancho, 24, but have informed Manchester United of two conditions needed for them to take him off their hands
Rory, you are one of the best narrators around. Keep up the good work mate.
Basically exactly what I was thinking and then some ...spot on
A delectable medley of footballing strikers
I totally agree with you. Excellent analysis!
Florian Wirtz had the same injury as Chiesa, cruciate ligament injury, almost 1 year recovery, but look at him now!
i think chiesa is a great signing, just dont rush him, give him time for adaptation, and give him proper rest due to his acl injury history
Only worry is his injury history. However, for the kind of moneythat some of these big clubs lose down the back of the sofa these days, its a great gamble.
One of the most impressive players to watch personally. I love Chiesa. Excited to see him perform.
For a player who played 33 games straight he doesn't seem too injury prone, he just had a devastating injury
Really strong video. Pure facts.
In my 20 years of watching the premier league I haven’t seen a whole lot of Italian attacking or even midfield talent so this will be interesting. I haven’t watched too much of Chiesa since his Euro debut to the world.
Think he’ll be a great addition to our frontline this season & for that price don’t see a downside.
I dont believe for a minute Hughes and Slot called Chiesa and persuaded him to sign by telling him he's going to be a backup to Salah. Rather they tell him they want him to help LFC triumph over City and he's going to push all the forwards to the next gear to keep him out.
Every word uttered out of your mouth is 100% TRUE and I couldn't agree more ❤❤❤
I have been impressed with this guy in the past and if he can be as good as a few years ago it will indeed be a great signing.
Premier league is a differnet beast .
2.fitting into a new team etc ,
Im more inpressed with the signing , but at the same time im really happy with the way slot is handling and balancing the team.
If this signing impresses you, you’re a fucking loser
Liverpool study every player they buy. Other teams really don't know what Liverpool are doing, when they do it's too late for everyone else! Except when Chelsea slip in on 2 players, but hey, we were better off without them. Lol keep up the good wrk Rory, love to hear your thoughts. You're a Scholar and a Gentleman.
great analysis, rate the articulation
Elliott is more suited to our midfield anyway. Slot isn't shy about playing a 10 either. Jones and Elliott as backups to Macca and Szobo respectively makes perfect sense.
Still think we need a proper 6 to challenge for the league, but we'll see what Gravenberch can do against top sides. He's impressed so far.
Chiesa has that X factor. A difference maker. A match winner. He can be lethal on his day. What a signing
I’m really excited about this one
I can see him being like Bobby firminio
I’m so happy that we actually signed Federico Chiesa this guy is a serious player and I can’t wait to see him play for Liverpool and hope he’ll lift many trophies for Liverpool🔴Brilliant signing
Damn Rory music, jump cuts and video footage? Moving up in the world ten years into being a UA-camr
great analysis Rory you make a lot of sense and its how i viewed it, hopefully now he will re-sign for us
Fatigue "can" matter, but last season most of our first team players were out for long periods simultaneously leaving us playing much of the season with our lesser experienced kids, yes our injuries last season was a massive blow and therefore a huge disappointment, but the fact that we finished were we did using mostly kids for the most part of the season was absolutely brilliant.
How many teams endded up below us with first team players playing most games last season? Many if not all of those teams fans and players would give anything to finish where we finished so last season could only really be seen as a success as it showed what our future could be.
The next disappointment here is that that future will no longer be with a new manager with a new direction with his own plans on who he wants in his first and youth teams, had Klopp stayed the future would have been bright for those kids, had we lost Klopp and given Pep the job by promoting from within like days of old the fututre would have also been bright for those kids, now the future is uncertain but we shall soon find out as the seasons progress from here.
😂 To be honest, this wasn’t the response I was expecting to hear, but it’s bang on the money, so credit given where it’s due 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I totally agree with your analysis.
This signing is like Xherdan Sharqiri price wise
Chiesa potential is much higher
Fantastic I wanted him few years ago he still the player he was and will thrive in premier needed to move . I love it he will be great alongside The rest of them YNWA 💙🎶🎸🥁🎤😎🇮🇪
I am very excited about Chiesa. Class player
Im surprised Unai Emery didnt get him fr Villa at £12.5! He's a typical Emery player! Fast, creative, clever, high energy! Top quality £50M player all day! Id have loved him at our new Villa! Honestly, Im surprised we didnt nab him considering the crazy transfer windiw we have had! Liverpool have played a blinder here! Hes a different class to Harvey Elliot, who i cant even believe hes in a Liverpool team!😂
If he has a good season his value will sky rocket.
"strengthening the positions of strength", that is some original shit right there.. 😅
Rare Rory W, i agree with almost everything. Especially the part about Salah
Im convinced if spurs signed him, people would be saying its underwhelming…
Rory KC & JoJo impression 😅 He mentioned Mase & Brandy the other day also. Whod of thought he be a fan of those artists. Actually let me not stereotype
He came with the solanke to spurs deal, so signing is sweeter, no loss in any way
Kinda has that feeling of when we picked up salah. Was doubted by a lot of people including myself.
My worry honestly is what does this do for Harvey Elliott. To me he is up there with Trent and Macca as the most talented and gifted players in the squad.
8:05 One reason? 2nd most injuries in the league. Jota, Alisson and a few out for months.
exactly! jota.. was smashing them in till he got injured
@@doubledigital_jota still smashing them in
Very very well said Rory👏
I like the radiator and the ball in the background!
Slot is gonna manage minutes & rotate so it's a good signing.I'm thinking after watching the pre-season & first two games Arne Slot is no mug.
A nice impartial honest take brother 👊🏽
I'm pretty sure he hit his peak in 2020 when he was valued at 100 mil
That wasn't his peak that valuation was based on potential
If chiesa stays healthy ... I predict LIV's final starting fwd line by end of the season will be :
Lw: chiesa, cfwd: jota, rw: Salah
Not too shabby when Luis Diaz, gakpo, and Nunez can't make your starting lineup. With the exception of perhaps Citeh, Son of TOT, and Saka of ARS, those 3 bch warmers dor liv are the starting 3 fwds for any other team in the league. THAT is how strong liv's fwd depth is.
If they find a good DM today or in jan, look out! I smell an unexpected epl title for slot in yr 1.
I think this could be pound for pound the best signing of the season
Love that KC & Jojo shoutout. Classic song
I think it's ridiculous to sell Gomez one or two injuries in defence (and it will happen) suddenly he will be very important because he can play all across the defense and play there well .I would even go far as to say he was on of Liverpool's most important players last year and as a senior member of the squad (there actually is no player who has been at Liverpool first team longer) his is priceless
Personally, I think if we get 80% of his best, we've already gotten our moneys worth and more
Liverpool's first Italian player (in the current team) will be interesting
By nationality which I think is important the central nationality is Dutch and English.English being the obvious one
We have a south American group Nunez, Allison ,Diaz, Macalister and I would throw Jota in there (Latin).
Oh no....as an italian myself, i was so happy for Chiesa and for the italian national team if Liverpool can motivate him and get him back in shape....now after this video...i am super worried 😢😢😢
Why ?? Rory is an idiot
The other reason he was so cheap was because clubs like Inter were hovering around him trying to get him for free next season but Juve were never going to let him go to a direct rival at any cost so this makes it even more of a bargain. Everybody understood his value.
