If John Stones had been a split second too late to clear that ball off the line and liverpool had gotten a point out of that 2-1 loss to City back in 2018/19 we would have been talking about Liverpool's first Premier League title, CL winners and Invincibles, AND, if the following season had then turned the way we know it did it would have back to back league titles for Liverpool and who knows what impact that could have ended up having on the league. @TP-pq9xx It would have come from Liverpool putting pressure on the City goal they would have deserved it, but I agree it would have been a lucky goal, you don't often see the City defense in 6's and 7's the way they were in that moment.

I'd have no problems in starting Nwaneri. You don't find diamonds like Foden, Yamal, Mainoo, or Zaire-Emery if you don't throw them in at the deep end.
Foden wasn't thrown in at the deep-end though; it took years for Pep to gradually cement him into the first team. People were calling for Pep to loan Foden out so he could get consistent first team football. Foden didn't need it though.

That photo at the beginning is from an iconic match in Arsenals history. As a Man City supporter I can't name all the players, but obviously recognise Niall Quinn and Viv Anderson. It was 1987, and Tottenham had been the main club in North London for a long time, and youngsters like me saw Tottenham as the bigger club. Tottenham were, as expected leading this cup tie, but Arsenal came back on won it. There was a realisation that their new manager George Graham was a bit special, and was building a great team. They'd go on to win the league twice leaving a legendary defence that Wenger would profit from. For people to young to remember, it's hard to comprehend that Tottenham were widely considered the main team in London back then.
I think your right with Sterling as a 10 that would be enough of a threat to keep Tottenham from pressing forward while also having a steady back line with both Jorginho and Partey sitting deep out defence is already strong as it is
Those three games wont define anything at this stage of the season, there is still a lot of football to play. You think if Arsenal win all three they win the league then?
Jorginho works as an 8 for us(typically he is an 8) but looks at his game against Liverpool when we beat them at anfield for the first time in years and partey could stay as the 6. Nwaneri should start as the 10 he's a fearless teenager who looks incredible.
If Arsenal lose their next two games, and Liverpool and City win theirs, as early as it is in the season, it's going to be tough pulling back 8 points on both of them, especially City.
