- The first sign of failure of a wheel bearing on a Ford F150 was severe noise from the left front wheel. Now we were stranded at a campground with our tow vehicle down! To avoid trauma like this I recommend jacking up an older vehicle and checking the wheels for free play when pulled left right and top down and noise during rotation.
