This is really awesome. I've been seeing some great builds online, but this is the first I've seen a solid walkthrough. It makes me pretty excited to give it a try. If I don't have a 3D printer and would need to send off the file for professional printing, do you think it would be worth it -- or should I anticipate a significant number of drafts needing to be made?

Thanks for the tutorial Kyler, after drawing the first one it took maybe 1-2 minutes to do the other ones.
Much appreciated - I'll have a friend of mine print them for me tomorrow :)

Really thorough tutorial! As someone who's never done 3d printing, but has done some CAD work in the past, I'm trying to figure would it be worth printing my own gears & front caps, or just buy from someone. How long does printing one gear take on an Ender-3? What would you estimate the weight or amount of filament would be per average gear (around the size in your video). Thank you!

Thank You! Printing one gear at about 30% infill takes me about 6 or so hours and about 30 grams of filament that cost however varies depending on what infil percentage you set it to as well as how thick you make your gears. Ultimaker Cura includes an estimate for the grams of filament it will take as well as the time required to print so if you have the time and a printer id suggest printing your own gears so you can fine tune them and avoid the headache of having to shim one.

i have the 7-element smc takumar 50 f1.4. would you print 'em for me for a fee? if so, how much?

Unfortunately I no longer offer printing services, its usually much more cost effective to have them printed locally if you can.
