- Donner sent me another keyboard to check out, the DEP-20. I was reluctant to review it as I didn't want to do the same sounding keyboard but the rep told me this has a different sound engine. So let's see if that's true!

I would definitely think that that was a far more professional brand keyboard if I just heard it live or recorded. There's no reason with those sounds for me to think otherwise. That's a nice piece right there, I'm going to have to look into that for my studio thank you for this video man.
Def not professional but it’s a great starter! Good build quality and has usb over midi so you can hook it up to your laptop and play software pianos!
I just got it for $305.00 on Amazon. I've always wanted a piano so I feel like this will be perfect for me
Hey! This a great piano for that price!
How'd it go?
@potato9832 setup was easy and completed in a half hour, and I'm a novice with tools, lol. I love it and have not had any problems at all. I would recommend it.
9:07 "so this nigga's extremely light" 💀💀
He actually says "so this thing is extremely light". If you still can't make it out then slow down the playback speed and it becomes very easy to hear.

@@mickypoo4622 so glad someone got it right lol
w.t.f. dude ... your hearing is racist
Black Friday here I come!
This is a great review. So when you say backing track, does that imply that I can interface an external mp3 player with an output into this piano and the external player will play through the DEP 20? Or is it the other way around..such that the DEP-20 usb is an out put to a computer or other source that has its own speakers. This is an important feature for me, as I'd like to play along with pieces that I enjoy. Thanks for the review!
It's got a USB port in the back that you connect to a thumb drive loaded with mp3 tracks that you can play on it! Pretty convenient
Hi! I am researching pianos/keyboards to upgrade from a 61 keys non-weighted keyboard to something a little more serious with 88 weighted keys but don't want to break the bank as I still consider myself a beginner, however I still want longevity if I am going to spend money on a new one. I see it's been about 6 months since you've had this one now, would you be able to tell me how his piano is holding up so far? I recently saw a comment online that said their Donner DEP-20 stopped working after only 2 months of use. I am debating between this donner, an alesis recital and a williams legato. I'd appreciate any insight you might have on these as well. Thanks!!
I still have it and it still works. I would check the used market as you can often find nice used keyboards. Yamaha and Casio make great budget boards as well and have excellent build quality.
Thanks a lot for your nice presentation. I am turned between Casio CDP S110 CDP S 350 and Donner Dep 20. Which one do you recommend? Prices are close to each other. Casio CDP S 110 is a bit cheaper.
Hmmm.. honestly they are both going to be good keyboards. Casio always makes a good product….I personally have the del 20 and like the double headphone Jack and the fact that it records and has a few more sounds….maybe try and see if you can feel the keybeds!
@@ZacBarnesMusic Thank you so much for your feedback. It was an enlightening explanation for me. I also think that DEP 20 has more features, such as two headphone jacks and recording capabilities, and it comes with 25W speakers. However, I was concerned about the company because I hadn't heard about it before, and I'm unsure if it is as reputable a brand as Casio in terms of safety. And if I understood correctly, you are currently using the DEP 20 model and haven't faced any problems.
Yes I still have it and teach my kids on it and they love it and it has been working find so far. I hear them practicing with the built in metronome and they love the internal recording feature
Hey saucy, what about the teaching software? Is it good? Would you recommend it?
Teaching software? From?
@@ZacBarnesMusic from Donner. Do they offer any type of app for the iPad that teaches beginner piano? Would you recommend one?
What do you think of the Yamaha CK61?
Yp61 is better
It’s nice for the price, but I personally find the action to be cluncky and not too responsive. Thinking about upgrading to an es-110 or es-120.
Thanks for your feedback!
Yes action is a tough one as it’s so subjective. I Think Yamaha has best action all around in their line ups
@@ZacBarnesMusicwhat is "action"?
how do u connect it to an audio interface? what cables do i need?
Just a regular quarter inch cable
Does anyone know if the dep 20 have a trumpet sound ??????
Yes it does
You might as well just do a giveaway
Seen lots of reviews. People keep saying this is a $300 product? Not what I’m seeing.
The price has changed. It used to be $300 but music gear across the board as went up. I’d recommend this keyboard at $350 or less. Don’t buy unless you can get at that price or less. I still personally own this keyboard and it’s helped up well. I think I might do a follow up review
Sounds like a Yamaha p200
never a bad thing to sound like a yamaha!
