my favourite every progression is DGAA#, up 4 octaves, starting from 3rd lowest D. in the left hand just a simple D# octave at the lowest you can go. coming back down is more complex can't explain it and there's more to the left hand but it sounds so nice
aren’t these in the angry birds song?
Vibes
Key of E Major right?
Yes!
I've been trying to figure what those are called. I just been calling them "pop jazz" which definitely doesn't do it justice.
The first chord example he plays is literally my favorite minor voicing. I use that thing like salt and pepper.
yo last yr i had the revelation u can play a fair bit of 5 note cluster voicings together on guitar using one artificial harmonic (usually on the D or A string) and sometimes by barring your index in a weird way that covers two seperate frets . ik its been done before but no one told me that was possible so now i wanna write down all of them into a PDF.
shoutout to artificial harmonics (guitarist here)
The Spirit of the LORD Jesus Christ takes over. It’s wonderfully marvelous.
mom called 😇
It does just hit differenr 🙌
love this, clusters are beautiful thank you for teaching me about these, subbed
@@summerlaverdure glad it was helpful!
Your videos are wonderful man, subbed Speaking of keys, whew man, I just recently connected the dots with the circle of fifths major and relative minor key scales/progressions and knowing how to build and identify diatonic triads in every key knowing the order of sharps and flats, etc. SOooo much information in that little diagram.
Awesome man! I love it when dots connect!
this is definitely your favorite chord progression! would love to listen to an extended improv on this progression sometime haha
Whats that progression?????
all you gotta do is say yes!!
My absolute favorite chords in music. Without question.
I dont know anything about music theory, but i discovered a chord that sounded really nice but i was afraid to use it since it had two keys next to eachother. I thought a real musician would laugh at me
Sound...🤔piano and flute??
Lo fi ass chord
that first chord made me come
“Don’t play super fast.“ : Then plays super fast.🤷🏾♂️
@@ColdFreshAiir bro no waaaaaay lol
What's a crunch musically?
I figured this out from editing MIDI and palming keyboards randomly for years, but I barely understood why it sounded good or what to call it besides intentional dissonance in key. It's really useful for making interesting shell chords so other elements can harmonize instead of stacking
🫡
Old soul we hear ya
sir you just unlocked a new appreciation for jazz in me
What program do you use to make the piano sound like that?
@@yunielalejandro9110 straight from my nord!
It’s beautiful
I felt this in my soul. Throughout musical lessons I was always told minor 9th and minor 2nds were undesirable and ugly but they always resonated with me emotionally. Much love brother.
dude you're amazing
@@FLYLOMUSIC123 thank you 🙏🏽
👏👏👏👏 Thank you !
I’m a pianist and a guitarist. I just wanna jam with this guy I bet the experience is priceless
It’s so true !
The Sims
Its all in those drop 2 voicings..🔥🔥🔥
Always love your playing and perspectives Zac
@@boreed5734 thank you!
Your keyboard patch and your dynamics also has to be good otherwise this kinda stuff can go from heavenly to disgusting real quick
thats what my band teacher says all the time
the real art is clusters within open voicings in my opinion- there’s something so simple but heavenly about two stacked shapes placed on top of one another with a tiny gap in between (i.e. a minor 9 with the 3rd and 7th on top of stacked 5ths!)
I took this video for granted.. U proved me wrong 🔥🔥🙏🏽
Just glad it was helpful 🙌🏾
I just wanted to send you a note of encouragement. I see that you don’t have 100,000 views on your videos…yet. You don’t have 10,000 comments…yet. But you ARE reaching people. You ARE blessing people. I’m a 57 year old white pastor from California, and I love jazz. I’m also a former professional musician. The demographics of your other subscribers are probably equally as diverse. Keep posting. Keep believing for big things 🤜🏼
Wow! Thank you very much for the kind words! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
i have been using my roland fp90x for quite some time now and i cannot explain in words how much i love itttt, great sound, amAZING feel, very portable :> i would love to have a nord stage 3 or 4 at some point because of the simply INCREDIBLE sound engine, but i still think i prefer the feel of my fp90x.. it just has that mojo idk what to say
@fgrey- I’m looking forward to trying that keyboard one day. The fp10 is so incredible as it is, I imagine the fp90x is that much better!
Can you do a contrasting comparison, please?
Aye, this is something chill pianists love to do right. Good advice for those who need it. 👏
I agree 👍
Yap
one day maybe I could be as talented as you
That’s not what a cluster chord is
Can your lessons get my mind to the point where I create my own chords?
@@emmanuelmarkin8342 that’s what my online academy teaches. These short clips won’t be able to do that, but they teach the concepts
crunch was the perfect word lol
