In the 20 so years I've been watching You Tube vids, that was by far the best Slug impression I have ever watched. Quite a decent review too, like it should be done. Like my one man tent test.......
@Eddy120876 , part two will have the shelter section to cut back the wind. I also bring a ground pad and a wool blanket. You could also used some leaf litter to insulate. Adam
Its only because ive been to the factory multiple times and bought amazing kit from them. I even resell items never sold to the public. One off colours, ventile show pieces.... I have a couple items left. Ive sold about 50 items worldwide. I wear the elite sleeka and think it fits better than the regular sleeka. Brilliant company and the insualtion is the best synthetic on the planet, made by the swiss :)
Snugpak stuff is underrated - great gear. I have Softie 9 Hawk for cold temps, Djungle Bag for the summer and Im planning on buying a response pack and a sleeka jacket in future. thx for the upload
That's the same bag I have - it's nice and light, but it's not warm enough for spring/autumn camping IMO (and definitely not winter). Also remember to hang it when you store it, if you store it in its stuff sack you'll ruin the loft.
When you eliminate the wind you will be even warmer. I have a Snugpak jungelbag and I slept in it for three nights when it was 24 degrees f (with clothes on and a pocho to eliminate the wind to some degree) and it was survivable:o) And it´s rated at extreme 35, so i think you will be quite snug. Good stuff as always!
the bag also has pull cords to cinch the bag around you on both the main bag and the head cover part, those two things should keep the wind out pretty good as well if you use them!
@braxtonamour this was purchased through Equip2Endure LLC, the bag is rated for 36 to 27 degrees Fahrenheight. The MSRP is $249.00 but you can find them as low as $154.00 with a little looking around.
Great review Adam. I've been really interested in these bags but the cost has been holding me back from purchasing one. Would definitely be a BIG improvement over my current bag which is SOOO big that it takes up the entire main compartment in my medium ALICE pack.....
I do really like this Elite range from Snugpak. Recently got an Elite 4 and in some ways I like it more than some of their more expensive lines. I also have the Tactical 2 and the Paratex Micro on the Elites seems twice as thick and tough as the Paratex Steelplate on my other one.
Well, I was siting here thinking to myself... where is the tarp/ primitive shelter with the flurries going on?? But at least you partially redeemed yourself with the Bivy that will be used during the next phase of testing. Very nice.
Hello from across the the big pond in the UK. Thanks for the review... Just an observation are you left or right handed... you have a right handed zip which is actually better for left handed people.. if your right handed many including myself want the zip on the left ....mind you some choose the zip Opening to match their tent so when lying on their side they can reach out and into a tent porch whilst still in the bag.?...
love the video Adam..and hey we have the same headset :D ...they feel so good. I did notice you were struggling with the wind going inside the snugpak..is there any other way to solve this issue?. Thanks Eddy
Hi Adam, I have a one question for you. Which will be better Snugpak Softie Elite 2 or Snugpak Softie Kestrel 6 ( for 3 season)? Please, I appreciate that. P.S Great review:)
@AgGuy07 Hi, I have a Wiggy's and I made a video recently where I soaked the bag in the rain for four hours then slept in it. I was wet when I got in but I was instantly warm. And, in the morning I was dry AND the bag was dry. I highly recommend a Wiggy's bag.
Do you happen to have any experience with Wiggys sleeping bags? I'm trying to find opinions comparing Wiggys vs. Snugpak bags and haven't found anything concrete yet.
I'd be interested to see how much moisture there was the next morning, if you're going to bury your face inside the bag. Most people exhale and sweat about 900ml in 24 hours. That's about half a quart at night, which on a cold night equates to being very cold early morning, and a very wet bag the next day. Good review of the bag though.
I do not see the feasibility of actually staying warm. To tight of quarters. No room for body heat to circulate. I'm 6'-1" and 215#'s. That cute little bag would fit me like a pair of socks.
Forward with the shower now, and into bivi bag test. Ask your self one questions, have would it fell, to crash 02:00 & 04:00 at 4 mm and 14 mm of rain just plus, and then with total wet gear, reach the finally snow ( not show ), and frost layer at minus -5 time 06:00, happy new days-start, leaving the test at will, FOR COFFEE after two Km. walk like a, well ??! Well, i did exacty one week ago in Denmark, whit this cheep shit' called something close to Anders. Therefore always a compact Army Basha in the pack, and well maybe a Snugpak bivvi bag ? I myself tryed the crash, that can mean life or dead at purpose will , and with a cheep sleepingbag under this bad product ! Now i stay to my Challenger 400 Sleeping bag, and Rapid Force Z Camu Sleeping Mat ! Best bag ever ! Here the danger shit', there is a lot of cheep danger product out there with toprte stars from, well campingsmileys-folk, but this gear will not work alone, when it really matters, but only for cheep windbreaker. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Andes-Olive-Green-Waterproof-Bivvy-Bag-Sleeping-Bag-Cover-Camping-Fishing-New-/311384226787?hash=item487ff23be3:g:9ScAAOSwFqJWonso Buy only good gear, just saying, not cheep danger ! You test need more extrem, after my opinion ! Sleeping bags today is how you sleeping-system function, and you importen private pro-rutine, call it rules if you like ! Thanks anyway, we need those test videos ! My own best of the best, by say, a Chalkenger 400 !

Well at the time of this video I was 6'3" and about 220, been using this bag for years and it has been great.

no worries, no offense taken...we appreciate you views and support.

Thanks for watching, for reference, Adam is 6"4, and over 200 himself.
This is how gear should be reviewed. Great job man.
probably the most useful review i've seen of a sleeping bag xD gj

Nice quick review, it'll be interesting to hear how well the bivy works.

Very nice Vid. Great idea to test it outside. THX

As soon as the intro ended I was like. "Ohh damn, Gangsta survival!"
what brand of beenie is that?
Now that's how ya do a review!!!
Where'd you buy it? For how much? What's it rated for in Fahrenheit?
@scargill8 cause of the weather. Its ridiculous to wear shorts and a t-shirt in the cold

and your problem with the UK is?????

@Bornwithnofear hes american thats why
You should never stick your face into the sleeping bag in breath into it, your breath will condense in the bag and thats a big no no..
Americans never say the temperature in Celsius...always Fahrenheit.
Good vid, stay warm.LOL
Sorry didnt mean to be negative.
