    In my lifetime I've owned over 100 different vehicles. In my early days I was a master Porsche/Audi master Tech. This year I traded in a Lexus LS 460 for the LC500. Love the LS so did everyone who rode in it. The wife test drove the LC and it was all a done deal. Now she won't give up the wheel. Like the poster says the LC is unlike any other car I know of. It's not the fastest by any means and that is not what makes this car so great. It's the sound, the feel and the look. I didn't have the car home for an hour before someone stopped by my home to tell me how beautiful it is. The car is not practical in many aspects but at this point in my life it's about getting everything you can get out of life and this car fits the bill to a T.

    David, your idea is super great to make the sacrifice to sell both of your GX’s, or just sell one GX so that you can own the LC 500. There is nothing like the sound of that engine, the thrill of the drive, and nothing like the sound of a V-8. I see manufacturers moving toward turbo engines, and V-8 engines will go away. My strong hope, although doubtful, is that the V-8 engine will make a strong return and not be gone for good.

    Awesome car! Not because of it's specs on paper. But because it looks, feels and sounds unbelievable. It's a fairly quick grand touring car, built to last. And I've always thought the engine and exhaust combination sounds a bit like the Bugatti Chiron. THIS is a keeper...

    David, Buy the LC 500! Your past reviews prompted me to drive a 2024 LC Coupe and it did NOT disappoint. With the new touchscreen and 360 surround camera it is THE perfect grand tourer. That engine exhaust noise is absolutely glorious. I’ve driven a 911 992.1 Carrera 4S around a track and yes it’s more connected to the road but honestly the LC is way more fun to drive. It is the ultimate daily. I agree I think it will be a classic some day. Plus you know with Lexus reliability it will still be running great in 20 years. I hope to get one before they stop making it. The build quality of the interior easily surpasses any vehicle double the price. Your viewers must drive this car to understand the pure joy it provides. The rumble of that naturally aspirated perfectly tuned V8 will never be outdone by any EV or turbo. Get this amazing car while you can! Thanks David for being one of the best reviewers out there! Buy the LC 500 David!!! (Can you tell I’m a fan of this amazing rolling piece of art? 😉 Like you I looked for any defect anywhere on the vehicle and I couldn’t find one.)

I use my voice commands for everything giving me the ultimate concierge experience. I really enjoy driving the car and the rarity of it on the roads. If people wants quality, comfort, the looks and be able to put many miles on the vehicle, then this car is the candidate!
    I'm originally waiting to order a C8 Z06, but now I change my mind. I think the Z06 will have many problems to come since this engine and many things still so new and I don't think Chevy can see it until 5 years into it.

    I’m not a huge fan of Lexus generally, but I love the LFA, and I like the LC500 a lot. One of my favorite scenes from Top Gear is when Jeremy Clarkson imitated a wounded animal to personify the sound of the LFA’s engine. The LC500 seems to have captured some of that spirit (but I would never compare them as apples to oranges).

The Lexus 4-door GSF (same V8) is already a collectors car, as it was discontinued in 2020. The 2-door RCF is probably next...leaving the LC as their only V8 car. David already mentioned on another video that he will be trading in one of his GX460s for a 2024 GX550, so little chance that he trades in the other for the LC500 - while the price gap between a well equipped GX550 and the LC500 is not insurmountable, there is a large "usability" gap - the LC500 is a limited use car due to the tight dimensions, so this needs to be purchased by an individual who has access to other vehicles when more cargo room is needed.

      @@dlj1285 Most of the M cars and the Porsches have become nothing less than track cars. I sold my 992 Carrera 2S because it was nowhere near as much fun as my old 996s and 997s. AMGs have lost their way with the 4 cylinders and the new CLE 53 with a 6 is light redemption. I do own a 2024 M3CS and it is the best of the lot in many ways but the suspension can be quite unsettled on normal roads and I cant get the handling benefit of that because I do not track. • @dlj1285
      @dlj1285 8 місяців тому

      @@shuaibshariff2797 It’s true, the choices are dwindling for a myriad of reasons these days…
      If I had tons of money and could have lots of cars I would have an LC500 without a doubt. I personally cannot though, so I have to choose. The 992 is a bit clinical and boring for sure, I agree. The sound alone on the LC brings a lot of drama that the 911 (992) could not dream of.
      In a recent purchase I was down to LC500, Lotus Emira, Porsche 911, and Jaguar F-type R. LC I ruled out only because it was a little too GT and soft. Emira kind of interested me, but man there are a ton of issues with that car, availability problems, and I have no dealer close by. The 992 911, again, to me clinical/boring, sounds like crap…I like them, a buddy of mine has one, but just not ticking all the boxes for me. This is not even mentioning the insane pricing and purchasing conditions there are with Porsches these days over the past few years (in Canada at least).
      In the end I went with a 2024 F-type R. Not a choice for everyone, but it was the one that brought the right combination of things I was looking for. Not soft (but not taking your teeth out either), brutal power and vibe, incredible looking (my opinion only), and the car is really quite worked out at this point. I don’t need perfect reliability for a purchase like this, it just needs to be reasonable. And the reliability on this particular car definitely is fine if you look into them (despite what people say out there). I also know people who own them and they have been good…Certainly meets my needs on balance…I also could care less about resale. Here in Canada over the past few years the resale on an F-type has tracked quite similarly to LC 500s, which did surprise me. None of these things are investments, so it doesn’t matter to me. I will hold this car a long time.
      To each their own. You are not making a bad call on a LC, to state the obvious. I bet it would have been an LC for me if it had more brutalness and performance to it. I’m a fan of Toyota/Lexus products. I have 2 of them. The reliability is obviously second to none.

    I’ve had the 2018 lc and now a 2021. The 2018s are pretty affordable hitting around 50k USD. I don’t think you’ll have to sell BOTH gx460 for a lc…

    I'm 68 years old and I grew up in the muscle car age. The lope of a big cam in a v8 is a heavenly sound to my ears and resides in my soul. I've always enjoyed the high rpm sound of the exotics but I've never had enough money to get too interested in them. The V8 in the LC is still a beastly engine, suitable enough for the muscle car lover in me.
    I've only recently made enough income to consider a $100k car and I'm in love withe the whole LC concept. I haven't driven one yet because I'm overseas but I've read nearly everything and watched everything on the internet about the vehicle. I look at it and I feel romantic. It is so sexy! At my age comfort is highly desirable but I still have the need for speed and this car can provide both in spades.
    Is it rational for me to spend $100k for a car? Mmmm, I don't think so, not when there are so many used ones available. I do however keep that consideration in the back of my mind. I've crunched numbers over and over and I haven't decided what to do, but I know this, I'll own an LC 500 in the near future. Like you said, the car is art. I'm an artist and I like the idea of showing off my artistic side while enjoying a waking dream.
    Should you do it? Well, have you done it yet? It's been 8 months. 🙂

    David, I think for most regular drivers , me included, do know what engine noise you are referring to. Whenever I drive, I am listening to Spotify, UA-cam, podcast, K-pop. As you mentioned this car is very exclusive on the roads, but the people outside would not know whether you have a naturally aspirated V8 or what not. The only thing they can agree with is that it looks damn beautiful. So what do you think of lc500h, since I like the beauty of this car, the exclusivity of this car, but I also like saving gas, and hybrid offers 29mpg!

    The major issue I have with my LC 500 is that it's grossly underpowered for its weight. It looks and sounds absolutely amazing. However, they lose from a dig to: Toyota Supras, Mustang GTS, BMW M4, M8, Mercedes AMG cars, Audi RS series pick one, Vettes, Camaro V8 1LE automatics, Lexus RCF, Infiniti Q60 Red Sport, Kia Stinger, pick any Porsche, BMW 850I, Dodge Challenger/Charger Hell Cats, Alfa Romero Quadrifoglio..., Nissan Z, Basically almost anything on the road boasting 380 horses and lighter than the LC 500. Nothing is more frustrating than losing to everyone from a dig when you have 471 horses and your car sounds better than most of the cars beating you. I will be upgrading in 2024 to a M4 or M8.

    • @dlj1285
      @dlj1285 8 місяців тому

      You are not the targeted buyer. Either Am I. It really is grossly underpowered. Why couldn’t they have gotten that right with this car?!? Toyota dropped the ball in performance for sure. It’s such a shame.
      Lol, every time I watch a video of a test drive and they’re driving hard I can’t help but think that the car sounds like it’s trying to be fast but it’s just not…Then I watch a video of a properly fast car like a 911, Jag F-type R, etc…The difference is very apparent….

      They certainly aren’t usable by western adults, they just bring the insurance down compared to a 2 seater. But how is the price high? It is better built with a nicer interior than any Aston Martin, at half the price!

    I totally agree with you David. I have owned 130+ cars in my life time and now I'm approaching 70 years of age, I've gone back to Lexus after owning the original Lexus Soarer SC400 4.0GT Ltd in 1991. Although I purchased the Hybrid version of the LC500 in 2022 and missing the glorious V8, it still has the looks, feel and wow factor of owning such an amazing concept looking design. The fact that Lexus haven't change anything on the exterior (and up until 2024 model, interior), proves how they got it right first time. I've been saying for at least ten years I want to find a car that I will continue to grow old with. Maybe the LC500 will be that car. Maybe I'll finally jump in to a '24 spec convertible and keep it until I'm in my box. Here's my LC: ua-cam.com/video/7RqblbIeMjA/v-deo.html

    Hi David, sort of perfect timing, I am crossing shopping the LC500 vs a manual Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0. One of the considerations is collectibility, with both being last of NA engine before being phased out. Do you still think the LC500 has more of a collectible factor than the Cayman GTS 4.0?

    • @dlj1285
      @dlj1285 8 місяців тому

      I would say that it is for sure more collectible. Caymans are way too plentiful. I personally would never buy one, but I definitely recognize that an LC 500 is much more special than any Cayman could ever be. I’ve never liked the Cayman anyway, so I’m probably a bit biased against it if I’m being honest.
      You might want to think about what you are actually trying to accomplish beyond collectibility. Those 2 cars are so dissimilar it’s not even funny.
