- You might be thinking to upgrade from the Fujifilm X100V to the Fujifilm X100VI or, maybe the Fujifilm X100F or X100T.
What are the main things to know and who should be upgrading?
I go over the differences with the previous generation in this video and what are the key things to consider.

That IBIS might also be for people who want to use it for video don't forget.. because the V was not good for video.. now having video option I think a lot of people are looking at that.. but not having a flippy screen makes that tricky.
True 👍🏼 it’s a way to use IBIS indeed.
Now I personally don’t know many people who’d want to use a small compact 35mm non changeable lens for video but in a pinch it can be very useful indeed! Take care
Thank you so much for comparison 📸📸
My pleasure
Great comparison- very useful, thanks.
My pleasure
Great review! 👍🏻
Thanks Richard
I love my Fuji x100V. Personally i wont be upgrading. But for new buyers or anyone still wirh and x100f or older it make sense.
For me- 40 MP is larger files. I dont need to crop that much and i dont tend to use the teleconversion as u like the 35mm eq.
IBIS sounds nice but ive never needed it really. Part of the fun experience of specifically the x100 line is to slow down and make your experience like film. IBIS gets me closer to what i want for my pro camera, which this is not. I have a different camera for that.
Still a lovely camera. Thanks for your review!
Thanks for watching and for the feedback!
Best review I've seen so far. 👍👍👍
Could you do one in German as well?
Lemme think…
Thinking about getting either this one or the XT-5, I want the size of the X100VI, but the ability to change lenses. How big would a comparable XT5 with the lens be next to the X100VI?
It’d be bigger - quite bigger. BUT with the 23mm f2 it’s an acceptable “bigger” I’d say and you can do a lot more since you can change lenses. You sacrifice some of the compactness for function - depends on your shooting style really. Take care of
@@cris_photography I think the X100VI will be the one for me then. I'm looking to casually snap photos on my downtime when I'm traveling for work and having a big bulky camera+lens doesn't seem intuitive to the way I do things. Thanks for the reply!
Is shutter sound exactly the same as X100V or has it improved? I hated old sound as it made me think of stepping on a mice.
Exactly the same - sorry mate
@@cris_photography gotta keep stepping on those mice to get good photos...
😂
The best x100vi review so far
Thanks mate
Peraonally I preferred the output of the x-t5 (rendering of colours), and latitude when editing (crop, dynamic range) to the degree it led me to sell the V as it just got used less and less as a result. Especially that I keep so many more jpegs than previously with the x-t3 makes a big difference to me. I also think that if any camera benefits from the cropability it's a fixed lens camera. Shame they didn't make it a wider angle as a result. I like that Fuji changed the telecomverter from 1.4x and 2.0x to actual focal lengths - I'd really wished for that. But odd that they are expressed in FF terms while on the lens it's 23mm in APSC terms... Something to confuse newcomers!
So for me the sensor is a very good reason to choose VI over V. If I didn't have tbe x-t5 ... less of an issue as I wouldn't be comparing.
Ibis opens new creative possibilities but for the most part I agree that for 23mm not a big deal. Wish you could select it to autmatically activate/ deactivate at certain SSs.
The only thing is prices for a V have crashed, and I picked a nearly new one up for €1000. So wondering what to do with the preorder - that's a big difference to €1800.
Thanks for your feedback and all the valid points you bring about! I understand you’d go that route 😉 take care
is it 'made in japan'?
No, china this time around
@@cris_photography OMG
@@happysmile2627It was a JAPANESE decision to have this made in CHINA.
Xpro and x100 they made from Japan. They broke the mold. I think because low supplies they relocation manufacture
Is there digital zoom in video mode
Hello, not that I know of. I usually would do that in post anyway (if digital). Take care
yes, it is the FIVE. V is a roman numeral.
Before that it was S, T, F so people were saying V and not 5 as a normal evolution of the naming. That said, it is indeed a Roman numeral so it’ll have to become 5, 6, etc.
FRANK REVIEW.... THANKS SO MUCH. MOST X100V OWNERS LIKE ME WILL BLESS YOU.
Thanks and glad it was helpful! 😌
Now all of sudden the x100V is called the x1005 smh lol
Ya.. for the sake of the x100”6” I guess (still call it the “V”) cheers
Chinese
Indeed
The new: made in china
Yep
