One thing a lot of people overlook is how petty the Blokkats really are, any victory you gain against them is a shallow one because in so far as Gigastructure lore goes, any society that manages to repel a Blokkatvester successfully has their whole galaxy blown up shortly after.
Is that lore confirmed recently? Going by the Gigastructure wiki there exists a pan galactic alliance that is fighting against the Blokkats with comparable technological level, with more worlds joining said alliance. In timelines where the Kaiser wins against the Blokkats he even leads this galaxy to join the alliance and fight the Blokkats main fleet. So it wouldn't make sense for the Blokkats to blow up every galaxy that successfully defeat their harvesters.
The great irony is that even with 2000 fleets consuming a galaxy a year the Blokkats have zero chance of stopping the expansion of the universe. Is just too big.
That's because this 2,000 or even 10,000 fleet total is an erroneous calculation on the part of your own galaxy according to Gigas lore. Every time a Blokkat Vester harvests around 12 galaxies, it uses some of the stored energy to create another Blokkat Vester and it's escort armada. The universe may be big, but the Blokkats are growing their forces exponentially too.
One of my favorite things to do in it is to start as a Rogue Servitor that humanity built, and then convert the entire sol system into gaia worlds... all while kidnapping every other pop in the game to put them on these worlds - including Pre-FTL civilizations.
I've fought the Blokkats as an Eternal Empire (Twinks Mod, now outdated and updated by others) and they give even the literal 10th dimensional gods a run for their money.
I dunno, on hardest you need a fleet of more than 1 billion fleet power to beat the eternal empire, with this you can beat blokkats (although it is feasible to lose fleets if your careless).
I always treat Gigastructure like a minecraft mod. You need to work it out from start to finish and the blockkats are well places in the end of the mode. Also the mid crisis put from the mod also make the game much more interesting.
I guess one of the scariest things is that the fleet that arrived seems to be 1/2000 of their total numbers, and there's no guarantee all other galaxies would be as successful as we in repelling the invasion, so we may expect more of them from different directions. On top of that, it's possible that the fleet that arrived is more of an industrial one, built for a recycling everything to energy rather than fighting; and if we manage to defeat subsequent industrial fleets Blokkats may send their actual military ones.
its implied the numbers are so insane thats not even that scale like on MAX diffulty mode where its ddescribes them sending the best of the best fleet they have at you is still not even 1 1000th of there actual fleet numbers. the blokkats can only be stopped if enough species stall them at the same time making them starve with there very energy hungry tech.
The fleet doesn't even have proper combat ship, it IS a civilian industrial fleet. Most of their "weapon" from the beam that disintegrate all matter, 4d black hole cannon, absolute hot cannon and dimensional emitter is technically repurposed mining equipment.
I have fought the Blokkats once. And it was hillarious. I definitly managed the Blokkats better than these fellows (mainly due to my 3 stellar Systemcrafts, which could even survive a full attack by the Blokkat Vester), but they were able to destroy about 1/4 of the galaxy
Fun fact! In lore, your fighting the equivalent of a mining fleet with some "just in case" escorts, and now that you've proved to be an actual threat the blokkats will send a proper attack fleet to snuff you out. If you manage to handle THAT, they break out the heavy artillery and vaporize your entire galaxy from intergalactic space. They don't do this to begin with bc its inefficient, but the galaxy has to go somehow bc large clumps of matter can damage the harvest field

Personally I would have started with the mid game crisis and slowly build up to the Block shaped F to pay respect to what used to be your behind that are The Blokkats. Still, great video And I cant wait for the rest.
Compared to the amount of lore and work put into the Katzens I'm frankly not surprised the Blokkats were done first. Much easier to parse as a lot of this is reading the event notes you get in game.
I've never played the Gigastructures mod, which might have something to do with the fact that I don't even play Stellaris. And yet I was watching the whole video, since it worked so well as a mere sci-fi story.
The scariest part about the blokkats is that this is basically a civillian fleet you fight in game (excluding higher difficulties which use proper battleships). Their actual military force makes the xeelee look like a firecracker.
Incorrect. The Xeelee consider the bisection of galaxies with their cosmic strings as mere.....bullets. “We are truly in the middle of a war zone,” Uvarov said coldly. “This galaxy, with the bullet of cosmic string aimed so accurately at its heart, is merely one incident among ten million in a huge battlefield. To our fleeting perceptions the field is frozen in time-we buzz like flies around the bullet as it hurtles into the chest of its target-and yet the battle rages all around us.” -Ring, Ch. 27 Not to mention in Canon Gigastructural lore time travel is nigh impossible. In the Xeelee sequence? Now the antiXeelee turned to its last task. Seed pods, spinning cubes as large as worlds, were scattered everywhere in an orderly array, millions of them dispersed over the unraveling curve of space. The antiXeelee ran metaphorical fingers over each of the pods and over what lay within: beings with closed eyes, ships with folded wings, refined reflections of the antiXeelee itself. The work was good. And now it was ready. ...There was a discontinuity. All over the Universe the pods vanished like soap bubbles. The seed pods' long journey back through time had begun. They would emerge a mere hundred thousand years after the singularity itself, at the moment when the temperature of the cosmos had cooled sufficiently for matter and radiation to become decoupled - so that the infant Universe became suddenly transparent, as if with a clash of cymbals. Then the creatures within would unfold their limbs, and the long Project of the Xeelee would begin. -Vacuum Diagrams, "Secret History" Next time actually know what you are talking about before you speak gibberish.
The 2000 vesters number is outdated lore *its actually over 10000* Oh and the scariest part? The fleet you fight in normal blokkat difficulty is actually a civilian fleet *actual* blokkat military ships shred systemcrafts like its nothing
To put it mildly, the Blokkats come in on normal difficulties with a fleet comprising of a single Bagger 288, and the rest being basic Jeaps holding a single mining rig. None of them are equipped with any form of military hardware.
To give an example: the blokkat corvette is the terminator and has a base 1 billion hull points (this goes up with difficulty to 5 billion) It has an absolutely absurd amount of eviktor rays (strongest blokkat weapon in the mod rn) and can easily deal with a dozen systemcraft without breaking a sweat Oh and thats the corvette for them by the way just to make that clear
Ah, yes! The blokkats hard to get and a pest if left unchecked. And a real challenge if ou have the Gigastructural mod alone (Blessed be ACOT and ACOT sins of the precursors) as I have to admit the first time they whopped my rear very hard. (having a fleet with each group was 1.3M top of the line in vanilla components) These pests dealt with each group like a hot knife through butter and destroyed even the fallen empires with ease.
The Kitty Kats from gigastructures is certainly devastating, however, I don’t think it can stand up to the Omegan’s who wield the devastating power of Light from Ancient Caches of Technology and it’s official submod, Secrets Beyond the Gates
If you're speaking clear lore, no, because acot is purposefully made "way out there" in terms of power scaling In terms of gameplay, the blokkats would win
ACOT is batshit insane and bullshittingly OP because the creator is a shitposter who barely knows how to write coherent lore. Gigas at the very least, tries to make coherent lore, though elects to ignore the player's existence and tries a more "realistic" take on how everything works. Also it has recently incorporated the concept of the multiverse being other Stellaris Mods, and thus "collisions" happen during the gigas universal cycle that can make even ACOT merge with the gigas universe for a few cycles at a time.
Lore wise, yeah, the Stellarborne shit all over the blokkats. Gameplay wise..... I dunno, has anyone ever actually compared Deathwish Stellarborne against Obliterator Blokkats? (Those are the hardest difficulty choices for each, IIRC) You'd have to compare just ship/fleet capabilities though, since the Blokkat vester cant be touched without the Destabilizer....
This mod is so well looking, I thought it was official. I was hoping it was the thing one of the Crises was running away from and end up in our Galaxy.

Blokkats have several types of vessels. Blokk-Evictor and Blokk-custodian, large strike crafts deployed by the Blokk-dismantler, the fleet is usually called Blokk-escort. The fleet power will be equal to the number of vessels as each of them appears as 1 due to data overflow. Let that sink in, a large strike craft more powerful than attack moons, usually about 30 of them. Blokk-Dismantler: The large ship dismantling systems. Destroying them yields a lot of alloys, unity, and Blokkat scrap, delaying there harvesting operations. Their number varies greatly depending on the difficulty. On Endtekk, they cleave through half the galaxy in a matter of months if uninterrupted. Blokk-Terminator: An actual Blokkat warship, appearing on Bismuth difficulty and higher. They come with 16x Evictor Rays, capable of one-shotting anything less than a Stellar Systemcraft. One of those can go up against a system craft and win, as well as instantly crack all colonized planets in a system upon entering. Blokk-Vestor: Blokkat industrial vessel, with an invincible shield. The different difficulty options correspond to the fleet load of the harvesting operation. Endtekk is a fully loaded fleet, while Blokk-kittens is a relaxed fleet.
@@anotherperson2627 the blokkats don't care about *you*, or your empire. they're not after intergalactic genocide specifically. they just want to harvest the energy in your galaxy, some of which is tied up in people.

Funny that the "triple ringworld" text is still present, thats based on the old kitbashed model that used some even older assets of mine
Gigastructures is a cool mod, but theres alot of stuff on the surface like the Katz and Blokkats that i immediately disable because theyre extremely broken without the use of mods or metagaming to the absolute extreme on their lowest difficulty settings. Sometimes you straight up cant kill them with mods, either.
For sure, there's nothing that can beat a stellar systemcraft with original empire technologies. And I have no goddamn idea how to defeat the original empire itself either, it's just too overpowered (its fleet numbers just say 💀and ones that are shown are ridiculous at about 55kk)
I haven’t got gigastructural engineers, probably because it would melt my PC, not to mention it is a cult in the Stellaris fanbase. But I’d like to imagine that at normal strength the Blokkats are like a 25x crisis. Now just imagine them as the fourth and final crisis where every crisis gets a 2x exponential increase.
if you ever wanted the ultimate power trip get the ancient cache of technologies mod and wait to do the end game crisis alongside this one to see the galaxy be entirly helpless in the face of a seemingly all powerfull threat only for one of there galaxies own species to be chosen as a champion of a even greater MULTIMDIMENSIONAL power. and the blokkats are so salty in dialouge after you do so thats its hilarious its like when a rich kid who bought pay to win items suddenly runs into a high skilled player who starts destroying them.
Now we need a new hardest end end end game crisis. Like you can toggle a new, worse empire, and if you don't defeat the Blokats in 50 years, then suddenly 8 HIEF laser gates open and just shread their main ship. Then a new, smaller, galaxy suddenly appears right next to yours, with only one hyper lane. Boom, it's a machine empire. All their stars are dyson spheres, all their planets and moons computer worlds, in the middle is a birch world suriunded by nine systems that are all Anderson disks. They want your galactic core and plan to take it the hard way. You will not escape extermination.
I just got them in my run and let me tell you, I’m in hell it spawned right in my system and I’m fighting for my life rn, I can’t kill them even with my best ship 💀
@@samuelcrow4701 According to lore, it can spawn about a million dismantlers at a time. So no, it doesn't need more Vester. And it is not like anything in 40k barring actual Chaos God, Old One, and maybe WiH Necron can do anything to a lone Dismantler. Since the ultimate weapon of Speranza (black hole launcher) is merely an average torpedo for the Blokkat, and they can directly harvest the Warp too, there is nothing anyone else could do to even scratch their paint job. One thing a lot of people overlook is how petty the Blokkats really are, any victory you gain against them is a shallow one because in so far as Gigastructure lore goes, any society that manages to repel a Blokkatvester successfully has their whole galaxy blown up shortly after.
You want total annihilation now or later?
My first playthrough of with these guys left me panicking, lost half of the galaxy, but man the tech you can gain were insane!
They only tend to blow galaxies up as an absolute last resort much akin to an exterminatus... they would rather not do this
@@zekeiyf2003what tech they give after you defeat them?
The great irony is that even with 2000 fleets consuming a galaxy a year the Blokkats have zero chance of stopping the expansion of the universe. Is just too big.
That's because this 2,000 or even 10,000 fleet total is an erroneous calculation on the part of your own galaxy according to Gigas lore. Every time a Blokkat Vester harvests around 12 galaxies, it uses some of the stored energy to create another Blokkat Vester and it's escort armada. The universe may be big, but the Blokkats are growing their forces exponentially too.
hey, at least they tell you that if you're inconvenienced by your galaxy getting juiced, you're free to leave to another galaxy.
Would be nice if they provided the technology though
Gigastructural Engineering is propably the best mod of Stellaris. Change my mind
It's too over the top for my personal taste.
One of my favorite things to do in it is to start as a Rogue Servitor that humanity built, and then convert the entire sol system into gaia worlds... all while kidnapping every other pop in the game to put them on these worlds - including Pre-FTL civilizations.
darkspace is a pretty strong contender, we also mods like warship girl r.
it would be impossible to change your mind, because i agree aswell.

Love that you're creating videos on fan-made crisis! I was anticipating this for a long time!
Thanks Apex :) More to come in the future! Appreicate the superthanks!!
I guess in that sense they kinda like the Aliens in Independence Day, but with a somewhat more valid reason and way more competent?

Still, I am surprised you started with the post endgame crisis.
To our fleeting perceptions the field is frozen in time-we buzz like flies around the bullet as it hurtles into the chest of its target-and yet the battle rages all around us.”
-Ring, Ch. 27
Not to mention in Canon Gigastructural lore time travel is nigh impossible.

Can confirm. On top of that they revive as well.
To put it mildly,
the Blokkats come in on normal difficulties with a fleet comprising of a single Bagger 288, and the rest being basic Jeaps holding a single mining rig. None of them are equipped with any form of military hardware.
To give an example: the blokkat corvette is the terminator and has a base 1 billion hull points (this goes up with difficulty to 5 billion)
It has an absolutely absurd amount of eviktor rays (strongest blokkat weapon in the mod rn) and can easily deal with a dozen systemcraft without breaking a sweat

If you're speaking clear lore, no, because acot is purposefully made "way out there" in terms of power scaling
In terms of gameplay, the blokkats would win
ACOT is batshit insane and bullshittingly OP because the creator is a shitposter who barely knows how to write coherent lore.
Gigas at the very least, tries to make coherent lore, though elects to ignore the player's existence and tries a more "realistic" take on how everything works. Also it has recently incorporated the concept of the multiverse being other Stellaris Mods, and thus "collisions" happen during the gigas universal cycle that can make even ACOT merge with the gigas universe for a few cycles at a time.
Sad face XD
@@pokemonfanmario7694 I can't disagree, I'd like ACOT much more if it actually took itself a bit more seriously.

Thank you for helping parse all this info I have yet to find the focus to sift through myself!
I like to imagine that The Contingency was made to make sure the galaxy doesnt attract the blokkat attention
Maybe, but why not just fight the blokkats?
@@TheRedKing Same reason the Prethoryn Scourge doesn't fight it. Hiding seems more realistic than fighting.

Sometimes you straight up cant kill them with mods, either.
yeah they are just supposed to be a challenge to people who meta game and build up the best they can with gigastructures.
I've been waiting for you to cover them and now I am extatic.
if you ever wanted the ultimate power trip get the ancient cache of technologies mod and wait to do the end game crisis alongside this one to see the galaxy be entirly helpless in the face of a seemingly all powerfull threat only for one of there galaxies own species to be chosen as a champion of a even greater MULTIMDIMENSIONAL power.
and the blokkats are so salty in dialouge after you do so thats its hilarious its like when a rich kid who bought pay to win items suddenly runs into a high skilled player who starts destroying them.
Well done. For the most part dedicated horror stories make me chuckle, but this actually creeped me out 😱

Given the 40k galaxy is actual galaxy size, the blokkats are gonna need a few more vesters
And depending on what Chosen One in Stellaris equalize to (that is the psychic power of your average Blokkat, mind you) they might be able to kick the Chaos God's asses in their domain.
