The best Doctor Who fan films are always the ones that have good solid plots with an original twist along with some nice performances & this particular film ticks both boxes for me. The film has a nice original feeling to it & it is obvious that you have all worked hard to capture the flavour of Doctor Who. An excellent film!!!
Thanks, that actually means a lot. I'm glad you liked it enough to make a comment. I spent two years(ish) from early pre-production to uploading it, so this is a special project of mine. If there was any confusion regarding the plot, is because there is a movie set before the events of this film, in a timey-wimey way, and one (that I am editing now) that is set after.
Hi, thank you very much for your comment! Sorry it has taken so long to reply but I always appreciate when people understand and enjoy my idea for a potential ending story to Doctor Who. Light's Genesis and Out of Time were filmed in the spring/summer of 2013 and I did film a third one in the summer of 2014 that I finished in 2015 called End Game. It ended the Narzo character that was left hanging after Out of Time since Light's Genesis takes part mostly before Out of Time. I wasn't happy with End Game since I had to rush the script and a lot was going on in my life at the time. During the 2020 lockdowns, I came up with a different way to continue the plot after Light's Genesis and Out of Time that's more interesting than End Game. I was inspired by Terminator Dark Fate with how that movie ignores Rise of the Machines, Salvation and Genisys. Dark Fate acts like a new third Terminator 3 since the only two good Terminator movies are the first two. So in the summer 2020 I started filming a new third Doctor Who movie called Legacy of the Doctor that I wrapped last year. I am editing it now but the movie is twice as big as Light's Genesis and I am working 40 hours a week so I have way less free time and energy to work on it compared to the other two that I made while I was a uni student so progress is a lot slower. Moreover, I am editing, from scratch special editions of Light's Genesis and Out of Time. The special editions of Light's Genesis and Out of Time will have better audio quality since I have had my actors re-dub their lines in a sound booth environment, improved CGI, better pacing and I am incorporating the two or three good sequences of End Game into those two movies so that End Game wasn't entirely a waste. I am cutting out a few things here and there too that allowed for more narrative freedom when writing Legacy of the Doctor and making it clear that the correct order is Light's Genesis, Out of Time and Legacy of the Doctor. As I have been working on the special editions of the first two movies and the main edit of the Legacy of the Doctor I have also been coming up with ideas on a new, new one too. It is only in the conceptual stage right now but it won’t be until summer 2024 that I film it. It would mean the special editions and Legacy will be delayed even more but in the long run there will be four solid movies. That's cool! Technically I wrote the script and filmed this in 2013, it just took over a year to get through post-production. I chose Emily since from what I know there hasn't being a companion with that name. I don't know anyone with that name so it all fell into place. If I named a character with the same name as a friend they would think I named it after them and that can get all weird! Cheers for the comment!
