Before you buy it, you have to know this. I bought it myself. Absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking and beautiful and soft and colorful from the outside... but from the inside the font size is too small to read comfortably. I gave it a chance thinking after a while I might get used to it but no... very uncomfortable to read. Plus, it doesn't feature the preview chapters from the next books. The biggest font you'll find to read comfortably is the hardcover but might not be that portable given its size and weight. Bottom line is, this set is good for display and collection maybe... but not comfortable for reading!

I’m gonna start the series soon and I love the look of these. I just don’t know if these are gonna hold up when I read them. I don’t mind a little wear and tear. I could buy the normal paper backs but I just really love these and don’t care for the look of the others.

I wish this set included more of the books, but it is a lovely collection. I think I'll buy this as my introduction to the series, then grab the normal-sized books later. It's a good price for a starter set.

I'm surprised to see this set being sold cheaper than paperback sets these days. Maybe retailers are afraid they won't be able to sell them once Winds of Winter is out. Also, there are more and more amazing looking deluxe editions out there. The one from Folio Society is so beautiful I don't even want it - I feel like they should belong to someone who is much more of a fan than I. But I am very partial to soft-leather bound pocket editions, such as these. Small fonts don't bother me.
I just bought these for my die hard GOT boyfriend and am a little anxious after seeing so many mixed reviews. I saw some comments on how some felt flimsy and how the spine dis attached on some. So far, how did these hold up? Ugh, I hope mine come perfect.
Hi! Thanks for your comment! So far mine have been holding up fine, but I try to hold it very carefully. Even though the pages are thin, it's been ok when I've turned the pages. No papers falling out or anything. I think it should be fine!! Hope your bf loves it too! It's definitely a great present to get a GOT fan 😀😉
If you're committed to him long term and he's a true die hard fan (and can look after them) maybe look at the leatherbound slipcased editions from Harper Voyager. They're bound in red leather and each book is embossed with a map of different areas in gold foil as well as gold gilding on the edges. The absolute best set available. The book is also stitched not just glued so it will hold up for much longer.
P3 Gaming these ones are stitched as well (I know this video was a while ago but I just received these books today from Amazon); I checked at the center of one of the page signatures to see.
I like this set, I'm thinking of buying it but I read in a comment that it lacks content compared to the normal editions. can anyone confirm that for me?
Hi, can you please tell how did the books aged? It’s because I bought the lord of the rings on a similar edition but they didn’t aged well, the covers cracked.
I heard that there are pages missing in Storm of Swords of this set, between pages 275 and 306 - every other two pages, so 276 - 277 are blank, as are pages 280 - 281, then 284 - 285, etc. Not sure if that is still the case?
