Some considerations on your review: Sharpness should always be low, or at least medium if you want to avoid sharpening artefacts. EV isn't composition, it's exposure compensation. You don't set an ISO on the GoPro. You set your maximum auto ISO limit.
Very nice walk-through, much more informative than the printed manual. I have the hero 4 silver for a day now; managed to use it through the gopro app on my tablet. Works like a charm, but it's good to be able to tune the camera on the go, without any extra devices. Cheers!
Great Video! I was struggling there in terms of the wifi. Each Video that I viewed was only quickly touching base on the wifi selection and moving on to the go pro app. However your video explained it much better than what I have seen. Thanks so much!
Imagine the poor person who's responsibility it is to manage all the GoPro cams on TV shows like 'Top Gear' or 'Mythbusters' etc. Ensuring all the cameras are charged, all are on the right settings, making sure they have a memory card with plenty of space and, god forbid, make sure they don't lose that tiny little card with an all important action scene saved on it, or accidently erase the card full of Clarkson's ramblings. I struggle to manage just one GoPro with all the settings and it's a never ending battle ensuring I have enough power and card space etc. But still a lot of fun and I wouldn't be dead for quids. I keep coming back to this helpful video, thanks.
do you have preferred settings for actions videos, night , under water etc? i just got the gopro and my videos looked a bit grainy. pics were satisfactory.
Great Video, very helpful. you said during a time lapse sunset you would do a shot every 5 seconds? would you need to change your ISO settings during the sunset or would the camera recognize the light change? Also would you recommend using the video mode timelape or the photo mode?
I always do the photo mode time lapse in M mode. You have more control that way. If a setting does need to be changed I would do the ISO yes leave the aperture alone and shutter alone if possible.

When I hold down the button that looks like a wrench in order to setup the WIFI with the GoPro it does nothing. I held it for a few seconds like you did and it doesn't do anything. Just purchased it. Maybe it needs to be setup first before that options works?

holding the setting button to turn on wi-fi What happens when settings button is pressed..camera TURNS ON to "wireless" menu ..then I choose Gopro app, and get "pairing" flashing with a countdown clock, at this piont the blue light IS flashing ... but I do not see the camera on my wi-fi list on iphone X.

Why do my photos and videos look grainy on my hero 4 silver? I tried to take a picture of snail and it looked like crap. I also tried to take a video of me playing soccer with my chesty mount but it still looked grainy on video also. Please help!
Belmar Santiago Maybe you have the wrong micro SD for your Gopro. These are the ones that are compatible with Gopro hero 4. gopro.com/support/articles/software-update-release
When will the stupid manufacturers learn that the simpler the better. Only one in 10 thousand needs or learns all that unnecessary crap. I have video cameras since 1990 and every time they come with a new one, it is very different and always more complicated. I am totally burned out by all the unnecessary crap I have to learn with the new stuff.
It's really an awful piece of kit for the price. I spend hours trying to work out how to operate the studio and it just doesn't work on windows 10, half the time I can't find the footage I have shot and when I do it won't load. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Pile of crap really. To much fiddling, crashing and bugs. I wish I had never bought one. I'll stick to my mobile phone, it's simple and bug free.

About the battery and it's little pull tab. If it breaks off, you can gently tap the camera and the battery will come out.

+Jose Martinez Is your laptop older as 4k footage is very taxing and will not play back right if your computer can not handle it.
Your computer isn't powerful enough to munch all that data. 4K files are huge. Playback on a basic laptop will be cumbersome.

What would be the best setting for really good quality video because on the app it appears to be not so good quality

A Bel Gopro hero 4 SILVER has a built-in LCD, BLACK edition does not have it ;)

usually grainy videos are the result of high iso
why is there no screen at the back so i can see what im recording
because the black shoots in 4K and it will overheat if it has a screen.. However the new Hero 5 Black has 4k and and lcd
