@@7s000n ok if you already have it to Connected to Wi-Fi go to the app and press the + to add a new device, you still get to keep what ever you have on your gopro and just follow the directions as it walks you by.

Talk about a pain in the ass. I've never had a device that was such a pain in the ass to pair. Thanks to you I got it done but damn talk about a dumb setup. Get this... I bought my GoPro new in the store, when I went to connect it to my phone it said the name of my gopro was Mike_GoPro. Well my name is not Mike, I don't know any Mike's and have no idea how my camera got named "Mike_GoPro". When I tried to put in the password "goprohero" the app told me it was not the right password for Mike_GoPro. So I had to reset the camera. But how the hell did that happen ?? I bought my camera new at a store. Anyways... rant over, I got it connected thanks to this video.
Sounds like it has been sold before & return back to the store by Mike 😂. I feel for you, nothing worse then someone setting up the password then returning it. What a nightmare. I’m so glad I could help & you manage to get it sorted. Thank you for watching I really appreciate it

thank you for your great steps. But following through until I get the GP and then the password, then back to the gopro app it doesn't follow through, the GP connection doesnt hold and then my phone says I have no wifi. Don't know what to do next?
I cant understand why gopro have made this so ridiculously complicated. There are so many video about this so surely it must tell gopro something. Does this method work with the new Quik app
My camera is a 4 Black and it's in version 01.02.00 I'm guessing i need to update it huh? Tried the WiFi reset but it doesn't restart the camera like im the video and the menus are a little different in the wifi part.

If you are doing everything in the video & still having problems then the best thing to do is a factory reset & try again. Hope this helps
