People tend to overlook all the small stone tools around where they find arrowheads.I often see them in videos and people just leave them behind but the all the stones tools are important too
Nice Finds Fellas, that net sinker is super cool, I found one with a hole drilled through it a few years ago, probably about 40 miles up river from y’all a few summers ago, reached out of my kayak and grabbed it, I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited as when I found that artifact, Thanks For Sharing 🏹

Id love for you to check out a few pieces I've found, I'm a beginner but I found a birdstone and took it to chief Vanns house for the state to look at, I've got a few pieces with holes drilled and I'm not sure what the material are

I'm thinking the mystery rock is a broken celt that they tried to rework after it broke or maybe one on it's way to becoming a celt. Nice find!

I've heard of smooth stones being attributed to rubbing hides, as well a celts.

I'd love to know where y'all are at on the etowah we are just south of there in paulding and have found relics in a small stream behind our home I know this area was home to natives for a very long time my son was very happy to meet you at the citgo a few months back we love watching yall
I’m way up river from y’all on the other side of lake Allatoona but I always enjoy getting down y’all’s way because the variety of material y’all got is much more plentiful, I found a little flint hatchet once walking logging trails in Paulding county, way up on a hillside next to a handful of brokes, probably a hunting camp, God Bless & GL&HH!!!👊🏹

Those are so beautiful! I miss arrow head hunting. We usually just wait for the farmers to turn the soil and go hunting. I used to have a really heavy axe head.

We have been finding arrowheads and pottery pieces for over 20 years where we live at. I'd die to know what ifs find if I dug the holes like you all do. I need to hire someone to come do it im too old

I think that polished stone is a celt, they used them kinda like shovels. That or maybe a hand axe?
Those stacks are most likely from resharpening while in the haft. They were probably alot larger to begin with.
Another best day ever..like every day..so many of the same type..cool..how deep do yall dig?..here in ky sites are multicultural and can be six feet deep..and span early archaic to woodland..we just decided to dig until we hit water or gravel one trip..best thing we ever did..hit a layer of kirks...and then yellow glacial gravel..points found all the way to the gravelbed which was undisturbed. Ive got a few on my channel..some killer serrated kirks...that we almost missed..

I think the black arrowheads u find is asidion and was usually traded down this far because that kinda rock is found in Georgia. I could be wrong

14:23 that’s called a stack. When napping they get them and sometimes they can’t knock them off and decide to just let them stay.
What about this? Let’s say they decide they are bad and they throw them down. How would we know? There may be something that we find thinking they made them this way and it is something that they would just the way. I have always thought that what happens if I find these thanking they would want to make them this way and they were an accident and threw them away and I think they are something good when they were something I didn’t even walk in the first place.
Guys at 1:50 them tips I have been told are ancient because they made them that way. No all points was perfect. They did that to help them fly when one side was a little more heavy than the other. Kind of like balancing them. I’m no expert but at least take my concerns into account. Thanks Man
I've dug chert from the Earth, and they really don't "rinse off" just saying. Maybe Oregon dirt is different.
Any rock/mineral high in Silica content (which Chert is), won't hold dirt as well as another mineral. Meaning they will usually be leas dirty, or the dirt will come off easier. That's how I find a lot of my chert, agate and chalcedony, they are much cleaner than the surrounding rocks 🤷♀️ It's a good trick, and I'm in Utah that has a lot of red dirt, clay, and "regular" dirt.
The polished rock could be for a tomahawk or hammer

Not sure exactly where you dig...but I'm guessing Georgia. Question, have you found any trade beads or goods traded to the Indians by the Spanish? I know De Soto and 600 Spaniards came up through central Georgia.

I took the birdstone piece to Chief Vanns house and the lady said she was certain that's what it was. I've got a few pieces with holes drilled.
One looks just like the face of a owl.
Multiple tree markings around. One has a heart carved in it. I do stump grinding and tree work and the tree is almost 200 years old so it's not that old as far as natives go.
Days of content I know it, I just want to learn more and let my 7 year old son tag along. Whatever it takes. I've got 3 springs and 2 have never been dug on
If anyone in North Georgia wants spots to check out please reply. I've got multiple spots plus a big deer lease that has a few springs on it.
Trying to learn more, I've thrown many hand tools back into the water not knowing what they are.
