They weren't trying to do it better, they were just trying to do it. People cover songs because they love them. These guys have an interesting take on it. I like it.

I used to love the through tomorrow album, but now I can barely stand to listen to the songs. Why does the album sound different now? It’s not as heavy and just doesn’t sound right to me. I was there when they were filming Lost Boys. Grew up hanging at the Boardwalk, even worked there a few summers. No actual vampires, but lots of monstrous people. Good times.
The reason the original was amazing, was because it put you in michaels shoes for the movie. Amazing acting for "how would you deal with vampires?" put into the most moral scenerio. Not to be a dick. But your having your fun, and fans of the movie needed the bar to be set higher for even a remote possibility of a cover.
