Whenever I consider a basement, attic or crawlspace project, my wife asks me, “What Would Crawlspace Ninja Do?”

Hi! I’m thinking about starting the encapsulation process at my house but before I order any products I have a question and I would appreciate any help. I currently have a vapor barrier just laying on top of the soil, a notice some condensation happening under the plastic due to the moisture coming from the ground. What’ve learned from your videos is that you’re supposed to go up each post, I have a very old house it was built in 1904 so all the post are made out of brick, my question is if I cover my post all the way up would the brick absorb that moisture coming from the ground which could Deteriorate the grout and make the brick weak? What would you suggest in this situation?

We do posts on block and brick but do not go all the way up, usually 2 feet at the most, this way there is room for moisture to evaporate. If it is a huge concern you can always not cover the brick.
